Chapter 2: Find the Girl

The boy went home to his parents. Unlike Lila, he lived a simple life. He lived in a smaller home with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. White. He is okay and happy about it, nonetheless.

His parents were all flustered when they waited as the boy arrived home around 5pm, when he should've returned home around 3-4pm.

"Lenn, where have you been?", Mrs. White spoke as she ran towards to her son and hugged him.

"It's quite late already, a-and look at your elbows. What happened?", she holds his arms after she hugs her son.

When she quickly held Lenn on the shoulders, her husband, Mr. White, said, "Yeah, we're worried about you son."

"Sorry mom, sorry dad. Sorry for coming home late.", Lenn politely spoke as he placed the groceries on the dining table.

"It's okay, but what took you so long to get back?", Mrs. White said.

"Well-", then he told his parents about the girl he met near the grocery store. He described her to be beautiful, but troubled at the same time. "-but she left so suddenly. When she ran away, she dropped her bracelet. I didn't manage to give it back to her. I couldn't find her anywhere.", Lenn spoke as he took out the bracelet from his pocket.

Mr. White picked it up and noticed the letters on it. He read, "Hmm- Lee-la.?"

"No dear, it's pronounced Lai-la.", said Mrs. White as she slightly giggled. "It probably belongs to a little girl named Lila."

"Maybe mom. I hope that I will get to see her again, and give it back to her.", Lenn softly spoke as he picked up the bracelet from his father's hand.

The next day, Lenn had a doctor's appointment along with his dad. He said, "Hello", as he entered the office Lenn is prepared for his health check-up to see if his health (and muscular) condition improves.

The doctor spoke to Mr. White, "Well Sir, your son has been improving throughout the year. Make sure to continue giving him physical treatment, healthy foods, and exercise." Then he sweetly looked at the 8 year old boy as he said, "Okay sir Lenn?"

"Yes sir!", Lenn happily spoke.

"Thank you doctor.", Mr. White said.

. . .

A few months passed by, he arrived his school, it is the day where his teacher reveal their grades and class ranking for the 1st quarter in his 3rd grade. One of the student asked his fellow classmates as he read Lenn's class rank, "How did he have high grades?"

The girl said, "Yeah, he don't study much."

Then the other boy said, "Maybe it's stuck knowledge."

Lenn went into his classroom and greeted to his fellow classmates. They greeted in return.

Around 1pm later on, as he walked back to his house, his parents hugged him when he arrived.

His dad asked, "How was school?"

Lenn said, "It was great!"

Mr. White smiled, "That's good. I do hope you have enough energy to run with us at the park."

Lenn jumped out of excitement after what his father had said. He ran to his room quickly to change his clothes. Mr. White was quite worried. (He was worried that if Lenn overused his body, it could give him muscle pains, especially around the calves.) Mrs. White rubbed her husband's left shoulder, comforted him as she said, "He's just exited bro, don't worry. Things are going to be okay."

Mr. White smiled at her, held her hand from his shoulder as he said, "Thanks sweet pea."

Then they were outside as they jogged around the park. Lenn ran as fast as his could that his parents didn't catch up to him.

"Wait, Slow Down!", his dad yelled.

He ran around the park until he stopped from where he began running. He sat down on the chair nearby, took out the bracelet from his pocket, and stares at it. It reminded him about the girl he saw a week ago.

. . .

Years later, he couldn't find the owner of the bracelet. He wished he could've spoke to her longer, and wondered if he would find that girl again. All he knows is that the girl is named Lila, and she seems pale in devastation. It took a long time for him to face the fact that he might never meet her again, and learned that he should move on from that scenario.

What happened to her after that? Was she okay?

He placed the bracelet in a small black box from the shelf in his room so he won't lose it.

He had no mood to speak to anyone about the girl again, even if he thought about it sometime. He focused on his school works, his family and his friends. However, he hoped to meet the girl again.

"Where is she now? Why did she cried? When will I see her again? I hope she's okay."
