Bound To The Vampire Prince

The human race was at war with the vampires but it all came to an end when an agreement was made. A truce that had been in existence for centuries– a woman would be offered to the current vampire prince to be his wife or mistress, trapped forever as his prisoner. It sounded drastic but thousands of women would kill for that spot but Eliza was the unlucky one Some said she was lucky, while others said it was through power and wealth that she managed to catch the interest of the cursed prince. Eliza lost all her privileges the moment she was proclaimed his bride but what happens when the vampires demand for their prince to have a child with Eliza? Or he chooses another human female that would do the job. " Don't worry, I respect your decision, I understand if you want to take in another wife." She whispered with a handful of tears ready to spill out from her reddened eyes " No wife, you are the only woman in my life!" Dav exclaimed. Will that promise hold for a long time, when Eliza refused to do her duty as the Prince's wife?

The Forest.

Dav wouldn't stop stealing glances at me. He didn't fail to hide the fact that he was displeased that Agatha had ruined his plans for the night but I just couldn't leave her with her abusive caretaker.

She also felt the intense aura from Dav which made her firmly hold on to me.

" You are scaring her. " I whispered, aware that she could hear me.

David simply rolled his eyes at my words and began to walk ahead of us. How could a vampire as grown as he envied the attention that I had placed on a child? Well, I had no plans to get lost in Darcuis which made me hurriedly go after him with the girl in my hand.

After an awkward silence of walking and following, Dav led us to a forest. It didn't look deep as I could see empty lands behind some trees. Dav simply looked at me, then at the girl, and back to the forest.

He wordlessly began to stomp to the forest without any care about how I felt about venturing into such a place. I guess he figured out that as long as we were still in the vampire's territory, I would follow him anywhere he goes even if it was to the depth of the ocean.

I turned my gaze over to the girl, she didn't like being scared of the place which was a grief reliever. She also looked at me with a smile on her face.

" Mother never takes me to the blue river. " She blurted out.

" What do you mean? "I asked.

" There is a blue river inside the forest, that is where His Highness is heading to."

Immediately after her words, I drifted my gaze to the forest. It didn't look like a place that would have a river but who was I to question someone that probably knew the vampire territory at the back of her head?

Dav had left us, I couldn't wait to see the look on his face when he found out that we didn't follow suit.

" It seems my husband is gone, would you like to take me there?"

Her smile widened as I said those words but as we were about to take a step, she held me back. She no longer had that smile on her face as her forehead creased.

" I think we should wait for His Highness to come back for us, this forest is dangerous for both of us. " She uttered.

She understood my questioning look which made her clear the air. " Monsters my princess, there are monsters in this forest. That's why mother didn't let me go to the blue river."

My anticipation went down the drain, from the way the girl had sounded, I wouldn't want to be so unfortunate to come in contact with the monsters.

" Dav!" I subconsciously whispered.

He was in the forest and probably must have wondered where I was. There was no way I would risk the life of the girl by entering the forest especially when I didn't know the distance any of the closest monsters was from us.

" Are you sure there are monsters here? "I asked for the sake of all conflict.

" Yes, my princess. The king would always send warriors every month to hunt down the monsters but it was only a few that would come back to tell the story of what they had seen." She paused on her words as she zeroed her eyes on my face, trying to read my expression.

" Some said that a monster was as tall as five vampires if they were to stand on each other. They also said that the monsters were gifted with long and sharp canines and claws that could pierce through the hardest substance. "

The girl's words sounded like a makeup story but I had no choice but to believe it.

I faced the forest and attempted to go in search of Dav but the girl held me back.

" You don't have to worry about His Highness, he is the best we have. He will come back for us. " She assured me.

With those words, we maintained a comfortable silence as we waited for Dav to arrive. The girl was right, it was not up to a minute before we saw Dav, he seemed annoyed but not at me but at the girl.

" Wife, why–"

" You didn't tell us that this isn't a safe place." I interrupted him. As those words came out of my mouth, Dav drew me closer to himself thereby making my chest press against him without any shame of what the girl would think. As expected, she realized the situation and quickly turned her back on us.

Good Lord, Dav would be the end of me.

" Why would my wife be worried about something as petty as this? Nothing would dare come close to you. " He leaned close to my ear and whispered those words. In the next second, he kissed my ear.

I didn't know how that simple act had an effect on me but my legs momentarily got weakened. To make the situation look more embarrassing, I still held on to the girl's hand, which meant she must have felt the vibration of my body.

I tried to push myself away from him but he once again proved to be stronger.

" Prince Daven, it's not proper to stand here. " I managed to say, aware that he would get angry that I had addressed him with the prince title.

I guess my expectation was put on hold since Dav didn't let go of me, instead, he drew me closer than we already were.

" Well, I have a change of mind. I wouldn't want the little girl to ruin what I had planned for you. I wish to go back to the castle. " He shamelessly blurted out and I wasn't so oblivious to not know the shameless plans he talked about.

He let go of me but held my hand before going in the opposite direction from the forest. While the girl developed a gloomy mood, there went her wish of having a glimpse of the blue river.
