“I don’t know for certain, but I suspect another acquisition is in the works.”
“Wow! Two acquisitions in less than a year. They’re not overdoing it, are they?”
“I don’t think so. When an opportunity arises, you have to jump on it.”
“What will it mean for you, Mick?”
“I have no idea, so I’m just going to wait and see. By the way, we’ve been invited to another dinner at the Florida Yacht Club.”
“That’s a lot of dinners, Mick. Over the past few months, we’ve been entertained by the Bellamys and the Cliftons, and we’ve had both couples over here once. I think you’re being carefully inspected, and, as part of your baggage, so am I.”
“Babe! Don’t sell yourself short—you’re a lot more than baggage.”
“You know what I mean,” Chris said.
“Yes, I do. But I wouldn’t have phrased it so bluntly.”
