“What’s going on with the Clark sisters, Ted?”
“What do you mean?”
“They just came to see me about a summer program, and they didn’t bat an eyelash when I said I’d want to pay them. Have you heard them talking about anything involving money?”
Ted thought a minute. “Yes, Sir. I’ve heard them arguing about some new appliances for their kitchen. Miss Sarah wants a new stove and refrigerator, but Miss Parah doesn’t want to take any money out of their savings account for it. They argue about it a lot when I’m working on an assignment by myself, and they’re in the other room.”
“That explains their offer. What do you think about going over there every day when school is out for the summer?”
“I don’t mind.”
“Would you rather be in some sort of summer program where there are other kids to play with?”
“Not really.”
“What will your friends be doing for the summer? Do you know?”
