Decision, and Decisions

*KLANG!*

Ye Xin-Yu uncontrollably flew through the air as she mentally commanded her first mage squad slimes to [Fusion!] and cast a multi-spell Tier 6 Exploding Lava Spear Wall at the Enemy.

"KHAAGH-!" -*FHBOOM!*

Digging her blade into the ground and bringing her flight to a stop, she focused on the results of her summons' attack. Consecutive explosions bloomed around the Enemy as it screeched at her, guarding against and harmlessly deflecting the many flying giant spears impeding its charge toward her position.

'Mage 2, Mage 3, restrain it! Knight 1 through 4, focus on its joints!'

With a thought, Ye Xin-Yu prepared her next attempt to defeat the monster in front of her. As her colorful slime mages created chains of earth and energy and curses layering atop each other, she herself kneaded an Energy Amplification technique to support her dependents.

The Enemy wasn't willing to stand there and wait for them to plan and attack it, however. Before her slime knight squads reached the Enemy, its back, shoulders, and four arms transformed into menacing barrels glowing with a foreboding dark-green light within.

One of those barrels was pointing at her. On instinct, she flared her spiritual energy in a pattern her brother had taught her, seemingly so long ago.

"KGROAA-!"

It roared. The ground it stood upon shattered.

And the air shrieked in agony as masses of blazing green hellfire tore through it at hypersonic speeds, exploding as it flew, exploding as it hit the ground, and continuing to bounce around like a demented rabbit at supersonic speeds for a few more very long seconds.

"KAKKAKKAKKA!"

Eerie sounds mimicking laughter rang out from both the Enemy and the projectiles it fired at her.

Ye Xin-Yu's slimes, what was left from the catastrophic explosions and rapidly spreading green fires around the battlefield, were down to two-thirds of one mage squad and one whole knight squad spared from the massacre only because it was behind another. Ye Xin-Yu herself flash-teleporting to a spot another 500 meters further away from the Enemy.

Her face was pale, her eyes wide, and her breath was choked.

She almost died.

"Ye Xin-Yu defeated! Victory goes to Tier 4 Mob~!"

'???'

She blinked. Looking to the side and seeing that maid bitch, gazing down at her in disdain, she repaired her mentality. Ye Xin-Yu glared, lips falling into a frown - not a pout! - as she pulled her still living slimes back into the inner world her super-amazing brother helped her construct and stabilize.

She paused and blinked again. At the thought of her brother, she sighed, her shoulders falling in slight depression as she looked back at the battlefield she had just escaped.

The Enemy, Tier 4 Mob.

Just a random mechanical-type [Creature Summon] made by her brother without a thought, thrown to her as a sparring partner. An insignificant, weak, expendable cannon fodder, according to Big Brother.

Scanning the damage to the surroundings, she pursed her lips, irritated by the results.

Craters several meters deep and dozens of meters wide pockmarked a 40,000 square meter field, and some marks from her own attacks remained like a few walls and barriers created early on. The most prominent effects remaining from the battle, however, were the gigantic rampaging flaming mountain-goat-like demonic entities charging around the field and exploding and spreading even more undying hellfire on the already-ruined battlegrounds.

Insignificant.

Weak.

Expendable.

Cannon fodder.

. . .

What did that make her, who couldn't even scratch the stupid piece of junk? _________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Ye Xing stood high above, watching his sister hone her combat experience and fighting instinct in battle against his weaker summons, relatively less skilled than his elite summons of the same tier.

Xin-Yu had only recently broken through to Tier 4, managing to do so by spending spirit coins to upgrade.

Many other people all over the world have been searching for quicker methods to breakthrough and become stronger though.

After all...

He killed over ten million people to entertain himself just two days ago. He didn't really care about those lives lost, either. It's not like they're gone forever now, anyway. Xiao Nü is a goddess of souls and war, any 'believers' dying will have their souls stored in her divine temple and only require a simple resurrection toll to be paid to come back to life. Not to mention, they still produce soul power for her to freely harvest the entire time, so it's not like Ye Xing and Xiao Nü lost out on anything.

. . .

Of course, the fact that practically the entire world has been obsessed with struggling to become stronger has Ye Xing gloating to Xiao Nü at the practicality of his supposedly ill-thought actions.

. . .

Ye Xin-Yu, meanwhile, has been undergoing extreme training to strengthen herself and protect her dear brother, apparently. What a naïve little child. However, the fact that she was getting stronger could not be disputed.

In the beginning, she could only defeat a Tier 2 summon by herself without serious injuries on her person - which, honestly, is a bit disappointing. In the end, it seems she could only take on a Tier 3 with her own strength and skills, including summons. Against a Tier 4 like herself, she had almost lost her life directly from the first serious counterattack and almost all of her Tier 3 slimes had been slain immediately.

The most disappointing moment had to be when Xin-Yu managed to cast a Tier 6 offensive spell, but failed to do any real damage to the Tier 4 mob summon, at all.

If this result was indicative of the overall combat power of all humans across the Earth, Ye Xing wasn't feeling very hopeful that he could live the life he wants without some direct intervention. Although, humanity is still reeling and only barely begun recovering from the motivational event he had previously performed for them.

Maybe he should accelerate the opening of some of the dungeons on Earth?

Hm.

Well, he'll wait a few more months and see if they can still keep up their own pace of development.

If they can't, Ye Xing doesn't mind taking more drastic measures.

. . .

In the meantime, Xin-Yu seems to need some encouragement, herself. He wondered if some erotic incentive will serve well enough to get her going again?
