- Chapter 7 - Lights out

Okure was born in one of the richest families in whole Asia, the Koganeshoku family. The family was known for their unique looks. Every member had either a pure golden hair or eyes or sometimes even both. In the Koganeshoku family, those were considered as blessings from the gods. The children who were born with it had a massive amount of luck. Although there were times when a child wasn't born with golden hair or eyes, those situations were extremely rare as about 98 percent of the time a child from that family was born with gold hair or eyes. The children in that remaining 2 percent were born with pure silver hair or pure silver eyes. Those attributes were believed to have opposite effects of the golden hair or eyes, they brought massive unluck and were the curses from the gods. The Koganeshoku were forced to put them for adoption. There were only a few born with that hair or eyes and one of them was Okure. She was born with both pure silver hair and eyes. It is also believed that the effects of the attributes will be stronger if the child has the same color of the hair and eyes. So with that, after getting so much fake love and true hate from her family members, Okure was put for adoption at just 6 years old. After she was left there, she began to get visits from a pretty rich and generous man who in the end adopted her despite the effects of her looks. That man was Yugi. He has found out that the effects of her looks are actually completely fake as she is a real blessing with great beauty and power. Unlike Yugi and Risa who are in the part of the humanity without a special ability, she has an ability to control ice. Despite how her ability sounds simple, it is actually extremely powerful yet hard to control. At that time the, method to reveal a human's ability was top secret so no one other than the wealthiest people and the world leaders knew about it. Even now after almost 14 years after her adoption she couldn't master it to its fullest, that is why she's only using it in crucial situations.

New York, 7:03 P.M. ...

All the residents in the 8 kilometer radius have evacuated...

Okure slides forward and swings her sword towards the Dag and Megan. Megan got thrown back to avoid the impact as Dag was the one to get penetrated by the huge ice spikes created by Okure after she swung her sword. The force of the air pressure that came from her arm was so strong that it shattered the windows of the building behind Dag. Before he could think, Okure was right in front of him as her whole arm and fist were covered in ice. She quickly moves to the side to hit him, but he was ready as he quickly activated his shield in her direction.

"I ain't letting you fool me this time!"

He said before Okure in front of him turned into an afterimage. She fooled him once again as she was so fast that she landed a punch to his left side of the torso and a second blow right to the top of his head after she jumped up and dashed down. She finished her combination with a powerful punch to his back which sent him flying forward towards a far away building. And yes, she was also fast enough to throw the sword in the air and catch it in her hands after she finished the combo.

"Finally, now it's just you and me. I hate seeing that guy's face already! I wonder if his face would change if it regenerates after I cut it off!"

Okure said to Megan as she approached her after lighting up her sword with fire by sliding its blade against the concrete road under her feet. Megan then knew that the only way to survive her is...to run. And so she did, she launched herself up by summoning a large block of blood beneath her that launched her upwards on a tall building as she ran away and jumped from one building to another. Okure just puts her hand on her hip as she watches Megan get away.

"You're gonna play like that? Fine with me!"

Okure said as she began to run forward extremely quickly. Megan was not stopping her run. Soon she felt a large air pressure beneath her as the building she was on has been cut in half completely. And just in the moment she looked back forward, Okure was there, right in front of her. Megan screamed a bit as she aimed her palm towards Okure as she shoots out multiple blood blades forward. Okure of course dodges them and grabs one.

"Did that korean guy really tell YOU to stop Hakuri and Ukita in their given mission? Well I am glad that I came in..."

Okure said as she dashes forward to stab Megan down with her own blood blade. She misses as she hits the ground and leaves the whole building in broken glass and cracked walls, almost completely destroying it.

"But to me you two are pathetic as shit!"

Okure laughed to herself as she quickly positions herself up and kicks Megan back with such force that it sends her back flying through multiple apartments.

"What's with this girl?! She's fast as a jet and strong as a monster! She's not human!"

Megan said. And right after a second Okure was there in front of her face as she grabs her by the throat and throws her back into a building. Luckily for Megan, Dag came in to help as he grabbed her. Right after seeing Okure's malicious face full of hunger for a fight, he leaned his body back as he gets back on the ground and begins to run away too with Megan in his arms.

"This girl is truly a monster! This is really the power of a natural human with an ability!"

He said that before Okure landed right behind him as she breaks the concrete beneath her.

"Oh no you don't! That fighting spirit is not appreciated!"

Okure sais before dashing forward and kicking Dag in his activated shield. Even though her kick was blocked, she was strong enough to push both of them up as a big ball against a building behind them.

"I've figured out your technique, blob! You just shield and strike! No skill at all! Noob!"

Okure said after sticking out her tongue and putting a thumbs down. Although Dag wasn't too effected by the strike, he took the chance to continue running. He began to run and jumo from a building to building. Okure rolls her eyes as she dashes forward and begins to run too.

"I thought you would put up a much bigger fight, blob! But truly..."

She said before appearing right behind him as she summons a massive wall of spiky ice towards him.

"...you are just a pussy who doesn't know how to lose!"

Okure said that after completely freezing Dag's torso and legs with her ice wall. Surprisingly, Megan wasn't in Dag's arms anymore. Dag then grunts as he struggles to get almost half of his body out of the thick ice. Suddendly, Okure gets on top of him as she puts her one foot on his head and her other foot on his chest as she points her blade at his face.

"Hah! You probably didn't know what that vampire girl said about me! I am fast as a jet and that means you can't outrun me! Noob!"

Okure said...

All of this was watched by Jin who was just sitting back on his balcony while smoking a cigar.

"What a show, this must be one of those master classes of Yugi's idiots."

He said as he casually watched until he saw Okure's face. He looked shocked as he saw her eyes and her hair.

"No, not her. Okure Koganeshoku! That brat actually survived by her own?! Wait...No. Yugi most definitely adopted her! How is he not dead yet?! How did she not curse him?! Damn, these myths are always giving me a headache!"

Jin holds his head as he leans back on his chair.

"Damn that Koganeshoku clan. Such liars, for thousands of years they've put fear in our veins with this nonsense! Those myths that they've made up are just complete bullshits!"

He said. It is said in the Koganeshoku clan that if a woman gives birth to a silver eyed or haired child, the mother would die after 7 years. But that only happened once and that one time the mother that gave birth to the child was unnoticably extremely ill and weak, so she couldn't live another decade. Just because of that one time, the Koganeshoku clan began to call those children curses and proceeded to, in the best scenario, put them for adoption or, in the worst scenario, dispose of them. They said that if the child stays in the family for 7 years it will begin to curse the whole family.

Back in Japan...

In the mines of Yugi Toshinori...

"Come on, come on! How can I use these blue flames?!"

Aky said in a frustrated tone as he tried to figure out his powers. Gise was just above him, on her flying motorcycle and casually reading a manga.

"Maybe just try to get a higher body temperature."

Gise said in a natural tone as she sipped her soda.

"I already tried it you brat! Can you give me another advice beside that?! You are so obsessed with that dumb manga of yours!"

Aky shouted to her. Gise gets frustrated too as she shows him the cover page of the manga even though he can barely see it because she's too far away from him.

"Dumb?! This manga is a masterpiece! It's about an introverted girl who's trying to confess to her crush by acting...Well...Silly! It's pretty funny, yeah! I thought you liked comedies!"

Gise shouted at Aky while still being frustrated as hell. Aky just looks back down at his hands.

"Sounds decent. But I like shonens more. Like the one where there's so much powering up and fighting."

Aky said to her.

"You're so basic! Why can't you be cultured like me?"

Gise crosses her arms after she says that. Aky was about to say something, but he drops it as he knew that she was gonna babble more.

"Can you just help me with this, please? How can I activate this blue flame of mine?"

Gise looks down at him from the corner of her eye. She puts a bookmark in her manga.

"Well, you do know that by combining two or more colors you get one unique color. So maybe you can-"

Gise's voice gets cut off by Aky.

"Exactly! I can try that too! Combining all of my flames into one!"

Gise crosses her arms again as she gets annoyed by this. But she doesn't say anything and gets back to reading her manga.

Aky begins to focus his flames.

Orange...

Green...

White...

By splitting different temperatures to different parts of his body he was beginning the process of possibly creating blue flames out of his body. He can't gain them by raising his body temperature, so this is the only way to do it. the temperature of his orange flames is split into his arms and head, the temperature of the green flames is in his legs and the temperature of the white flames is in his chest. He sorted them out perfectly. Then he began to merge the temperatures from his head, arms and legs to his chest where the highest temperature was. The temperatures in his chest began to merge as his chest was getting extremely hot from it. Finally after a few moments, the temperature began to spread all over his body. Aky raises both of his palms up a bit as he creates a small blue flame in his hand.

"I figured it out! Although, I have to be faster in activating it."

He said as the flame in his hand disappears. Then all of the sudden his whole body gets covered in blue flames as it emitted a great amount of temperature and power around him. The mere heat of it was melting all the metallic materials and rocks around him.

"Huh?! Stop that! My manga will burn because of you!"

Gise said as she throws a rock at him. That rock turns into a grey mush as soon as it hits him, so it wasn't painful at all when it hit him.

"Yeah yeah, I got it."

Aky said before the flames around him disappear as he cooled himself down to his normal body temperature.

"Interesting. So I guess my theory has worked. If you can't raise your body temperature and gain blue flames, you will have to merge it with other flames! I thought that worked for other flames as well, but I realized that wasn't the case!"

Gise said as she snacks on some mochi.

"Hmm...Well maybe I can throw a punch and actually feel the true power of the blue flames."

Aky said. But soon he was interrupted by Gise as she used her telekinetic powers to lift his whole body off the ground.

"Nuh uh! Not happening! I'm not gonna bend the dirt once again to close a hole that you've made!"

Gise said as she began to go back to the entrance od the mine with him levitating behind her.

"Come on! It's not like I'll do any major damage to the mine! I'll just...Uhm...Expand it!"

Aky said to her.

"NUH UH! No! Do that somewhere else! I don't wanna take the risks!"

Gise said as she soon exits the mine with him levitating behind her.

New York, 8:16 P.M. ...

Dag was now back to his normal state as he was now crawling on the concrete road. His arm was cut off as he had no energy to regenerate it. Okure was right behind him as she held her flaming sword in her right hand and Dag's arm in her left hand. She throws his arm aside as she steps down on his foot so he can't move further.

"Can't regenerate? So it seems like you are finally out of energy."

Okure said as she pushed his foot down into the concrete completely as she holds him in place while he's not even able to scream because of how wasted he is. Okure lifts up her sword to the side as she was ready to cut him apart and finish him off.

"Your stupidity annoys me, just like your face does."

Okure says as she swings her sword. All of the sudden the blade cuts the concrete as Dag's body is completely gone, except for his broken foot under Okure's foot.

All of the sudden she sees a humanoid figure with a long spear like weapon in their hands.

"Who's that? I can sense a lot of elemental energy building up from them. And that weapon, it's the chinese ancient weapon. By it's shape I can tell it's a "Wushu Quan Dao". That person must be...a skilled fighter."

Okure thought to herself as she gets into her combat stance.

Jin was watching all of this from his balcony while lighting up another cigar.

"You've finally arrived after so many calls, Sung Léi. This will be interesting, a chinese martial artist against a japanese swordswoman!"

Jin says as he sits back in his chair on his balcony.

The shadowy figure, Sung Léi, gets his leg out of the shadow of the building behind him. As soon as his foot lands on the ground, everything in a large radius goes dark. The electricity is lost in almost the whole half of the city of New York.

"Now then, we shall begin on your mark, lady Koganeshoku."

Sung said as his face is now fully seen in the moonlight. A middle aged, average sized man with long light grey hair and dark blue eyes. He wore a casual black and white uniform with a badge of The Spiral. Okure knew that there is no way of avoiding a fight, so she closes her eyes and then opens them again as she sends a big wave of spiky ice towards Sung.

"Guess we are starting like that?"

Sung said before he got behind all that ice.

Okure's blade lights up in flames as she backs away a bit from the ice.

"This guy, he is a real deal! His energy is massive! And if I have to compare it to someone, that would definitely be Niza. He is definitely on her level or maybe even higher!"

Okure thought to herself as she took a step forward. But as soon as she did that, she jumped as a large wave of lightning came from Sung as all the ice was destroyed in just a second.

"Ladies always start first! Now it's my turn!"

Sung said as he was already in front of Okure. The blade of his spear clashes with the flaming blade of Okure's sword as she then gets sent back flying towards a building and crashing into it. She quickly gets back up as she sends another large wave of ice towards Sung who was charging at her with his spearpointed forward. Sung laughed as he dashed forward in lightning speeds. He creates a giant hole in the ice and the building behind Okure. Luckily Okure had jumped to avoid the impact. She created two ice plates in the air under her feet as she dashes sideways to a building so she can avoid another fast attack that was coming from Sung.

"You're fast! I like that!"

Sung said as he was right behind her now. Okure quickly turns back and blocks and incoming attack from him with her blade. He planned on slashing her downwards with the blade of his spear. The whole building gets destroyed under them as both of them were still standing on their feet. Okure was desperately trying to push away Sung's blade as he was obviously overpowering her.

"Damn it all..."

Okure grunts as she quickly moves to the side. Sung's spear hits the ground hard as she lands a powerful side kick to his cheek which sends him sliding to the side. She then quickly summons another large wave of ice as she quickly dashes to the side. Sung then just cuts through the ice with a single slash as he expected to see Okure in front of him. But in just a second, Okure got behind him as her blade was covered in flames and icy dust.

"Get frostburn! You knucklehead!"

Okure screamed at Sung as she swings her sword at him. Sung was kind of shocked as he saw how fast Okure really is. He blocks the slash with the handle of his spear. The impact caused a large shockwave because of how powerful it was, it even sent Sung flying back.

"Impressive! So you use flames and ice?! Very hot and cold of you!"

Sung says as he pushes himself off the wall behind him.

"Tch! Your jokes ain't jack shit!"

Okure said in a more frustrated manner as she dashes forward towards him. Their blades clash again. Sung's blade now quickly slides on the blade of Okure's sword towards her head. Okure barely dodges it as it cuts her cheek a bit and a bit of her hair off. Okure pushes herself off he ground with her hand as she was flying headfirst to the ground. Her foot then goes up quickly as she attempted to kick Sung in the face, but he quickly dodged it.

"I never knew a brat like you could put up this much of a fight against me!"

Sung said as he grabs Okure's leg with one hand and throws her high in the air. Okure looks down as she was about to get back to him. But she senses a great amount of energy coming from him. She once again summons ice plates under her feet as she launches herself to the side to avoid an attack from him. A massive lightning beam gets shot out by Sung as it almost hits Okure. The beam was so long that it even cut through the clouds.

"That was close! I should call for backup!"

Okure then lands back on the ground as she faces Sung from the distance. She stares a bit for a second and then grips her sword tightly.

"Nah, I can win this by myself!"

Okure's confidence rises as she stares at her opponent with a grin on her face. But who will win in this lights out battle of blades and elements?
