Waiting for you
Grey and white. The room was just filled with these colours and an unbearable cold temperature. Felix joined his hands rubbing them together in the hopes of getting some warmth but to his dismay, that didn't work. How long has he been here? He doesn't know. He doesn't even know how he ended up here, to begin with. He just appeared from nowhere as he stood confused taking in his surroundings. He has no memory of his past or was it that he never had one? The only thing he remembers was his name, Felix. He wasn't aware of where he was but he was sure he wasn't supposed to be there. In the hopes of finding some clues, Felix decided to explore the place further even though the cold temperature was almost making it impossible for him to move around.
He walked further deep into the endless path. The path completely looked the same no matter how much he walked. 'Was there even an end anymore?' It felt more like an endless tunnel and he was searching for an exit even though he doesn't know what he was going to do.
He signed as he halted his steps. No matter how far he walked the end just kept getting further away. As he hung his head low and was about to give up, he sensed a strong presence around him. He looked up to see a huge mirror box in the middle of the path. 'When did this appear? It wasn't here before.?' Despite the utter confusion the boy had, he decided to check the box out. It was 3 inches taller than him. It was a box covered with mirrors. When he was about to touch the mirror, he flinched backing away at the sudden glitch that appeared on the mirror. 'Did the mirror just glitch? and was there someone inside?' Once again curious he touched the mirror but this time nothing out of ordinary happened. Thinking probably it was his imagination he moved on only to back away further when the mirror became transparent.
A boy. There was a boy inside the box. The boy looked like he was in his early 20s and he was crying..? More like grieving for someone. 'Why was he crying?' A familiar ache hit Felix in his chest as he watched the boy sob louder holding his chest. why was he hurt when he wasn't the one crying?
Felix went towards the mirror to knock hoping the boy can hear and to his luck he did. It caught the boy's attention he looked quite surprised as he came towards Felix wiping his tears before placing his hands on the box and looking at Felix as his tears ran down his face no matter how many times he wiped them off.
He looks oddly familiar to Felix but why..?
The guy was trying to say something but his efforts were all in the drain as Felix didn't hear a thing. Felix moved closer placing his hands on the mirror and examining the boy whose were filled with nothing but sorrow. Why was he so familiar to Felix and why can't he remember? That's when he noticed the tears on his face as well. why was he crying as well..?
"Hyunjin" Felix surprised himself with the unknown name he just said out loud and to his surprise, Hyunjin heard it, making him look at Felix with the hope that he would hear him too. "Felix..." and he did. Hyunjin's tears stained his face while looking at Felix hoping he would remember who he was.
It didn't take much longer for Felix to finally remember. Tears made their way down to Felix's face as he cried more and more looking at Hyunjin. Hyunjin observed the glass slowly fading away indicating that Felix was remembering. soon enough the glass box disappeared setting Hyunjin free. He immediately hugged Felix who did the same. "Where were you? Do you how much I have been searching for you?" Felix said as he can finally feel the warmth he was searching for. "I have been waiting for you...waiting for you to remember me and wake up," Hyunjin said as he separated himself from the hug before standing up. He held his hand out to Felix before speaking again. "Now let's go home, shall we? I can't wait any longer" At that moment a door appeared behind Hyunjin as he waited for Felix to come with him. Felix gave a smile before holding Hyunjin's hand as they made their way out.
Felix heard a muffled voice as he slowly began to open his eyes. Everything was white. It took him quite some time before noticing his surroundings which represented a hospital. He adjusted himself to the light in the room before slowly turning his head towards the voice. Hyunjin stood there staring outside the window while speaking in a call, facing his back towards Felix. Felix blinked to make his vision a bit clear before trying to call out to Hyunjin "Hyun...jin" despite the faint whisper Hyunjin heard him. He froze in his tracks before turning towards Felix. He dropped his phone gasping as his tears made their way out. He immediately pressed the emergency call button for the doctor's call and kneeled beside Felix while holding his hand. "I missed you so much.." he barely managed to squeeze those words out while he was crying out of happiness. Felix gave him a faint smile before speaking "don't..cry..you look..more.good..smiling" Hyunjin smiled despite the tears "shut up ". The doctors came in and started examining Felix. "How do you feel Mr. Lee" "a bit tired but I am okay" "you do know you have been in a coma for 1 year now . It's a miracle you survived the accident"
Felix then remembered how he was going somewhere wearing a tux then this misery happened. It was his wedding day.
"We are glad you made it .thanks to your fiancé who never gave up on you. Then we will leave now. you notice any discomfort we are one call away "
The doctors left as Hyunjin sat beside Felix holding his hand. "You waited that long" "how can I not. We were about to get married and then you just..." Felix squeezed Hyunjin's hand assuring him now it's all okay.
"It's okay now that everything is back to normal should we get married?"
"Should I say no?" Hyunjin started thinking as he messed around. Felix gasped "I proposed and you said yes before now you saying no!?!?" Hyunjin laughed "What I waited for a year cant you wait as well" he giggled more as they both went on arguing . "that's unfair" Hyunjin laughed at his fiancé whining. he missed his laugh. both of them sure did miss each other a lot.
It's been one year since the incident. everything was back to normal. Felix recovered faster than expected. Soon enough Hyunjin and Felix moved in together.
Later after a year, Felix proposed to Hyunjin again and of course, Hyunjin said yes while he cried out of happiness same as he did the first time when he got the proposal.
It's the wedding day. Felix stood in front of the mirror and fiddled with his fingers nervously glancing at his reflection. Negative thoughts filled his mind as his hands shook. His sister anna who seemed to have noticed his nervousness giggled and placed her hand on his shoulder as she spoke. "It's gonna be okay don't be nervous" "No, like why do I feel like my insides are going roller coaster .what if I trip and mess up?" anna giggled before speaking again. "It's okay it feels like that. I remember almost throwing up on my wedding day" " that isn't helping me in anyway possible" "sorry hehe"
"hey it's time, come out guys" "I am gay" anna giggled as Felix's friend Chan looked so done. "I meant to come out of the room It's time for you to GET MARRIED" "oh right coming" Chan sighed at his friend before giggling as well.
Felix took one last look at himself in the mirror before walking outside. He stood in front of the huge doors of the wedding hall. soon they opened as wedding music started playing. He held his sister's hand as he walked in. He felt like his world stopped as he layed his eyes on Hyunjin. All of his worries were washed away as he just stared at him. He looked so gorgeous with his long blond hair wearing a black tux and bow tie while holding his tears back with a smile. Felix almost teared up then and there while looking at his now soon-to-be husband.
soon he reached the aisle. His sister spoke as she handed Felix to Hyunjin "take care of him well he is my only family" "I will" Hyunjin said smiling as he held Felix's hand facing him. Felix smiled back admiring him.
The wedding started, and they exchanged vows as everyone kept cheering mainly their friend group was noisiest of all making both the grooms giggle.
Felix looked at Hyunjin before speaking "I, Felix, take you, Hyunjin, to be my husband to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, until we are parted by death" "I, hyunjin, take you, Felix, to be my husband, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, until we are parted by death." Hyunjin told his vows as well before smiling.
They exchanged rings while looking at each other lovingly. "Now you may kiss each other" the priest announced as Hyunjin immediately leaned down to kiss Felix. They both teared up at how happy they are now. everyone cheered at the new beginning of the couple.
Felix cuddled further into Hyunjin's arms as Hyunjin played with his hair. After the reception, they both went home early as they were a lot tired from today.
Felix spoke breaking the silence "Hyunjin I wanna know something.." Hyunjin hummed as he shifted his attention to Felix listening. "when I was in a coma what happened " Hyunjin just watched his husband speak. surprisingly Hyunjin was calm as if he expected such a question "when you were lying lifeless I was broken. I was waiting in the aisle then I heard the news about you. my whole world collapsed as I made my way to the hospital. I stayed day and night with you hoping one day you will wake up. Doctors told me to give up on you but I was stubborn so they just let me be. There was never a day I cried. It was so hard without you holding me and comforting me." Hyunjin teared up remembering as Felix hugged him more listening to him as he wanted him to let everything out. "But then I saw movement in your fingers. The hope that died came back. 3 days before you woke up you went into a cardiac arrest that's when I was worried and on the verge of losing hope again but then you woke up. I felt myself being alive again when I saw you looking at me, never been that happy before" Hyunjin said as he placed a kiss on Felix's forehead. "Thank you for never giving up on me" "even if you asked me to give up I would never" Felix smiled at his husband who gave back his smile. He was beyond grateful for meeting Hyunjin. He slowly leaned in as he kissed Hyunjin smiling.
Even though he never really found answers to some questions he was just grateful for his presence. He was grateful he meet the one.
