A Canadian geologist returns to Africa after ten years to resume prospecting for deposits of coltan, an essential mineral for the manufacture of cell phones and other uses in electronics, whose consumption is increasing exponentially in the world. Popovic was uncomfortable waiting for the impending arrival of Jungmann; he had previously devised a strategy to dispense with the German and to obtain information on the site discovered by the group led by Mercier, for which he had to either kidnap him on his way or follow him to guide him to his discovery; in short, a tactic not too elaborate but within the Serbian's limited intellectual capacity, and above all based on his predisposition to violence.
