The unexpected

As I enter the dark trail I know I'm not alone. I hear someone behind me walking slowly in my direction. In front is a large man blocking the path. I freeze, taking in as many details as I can.

Four people, North, South, East, and West. Four on one is not a fair fight, and I'm so tired. It will be to hard to fight. However I know if I use my head I'll be able to run, and I'm a very fast runner. One of the benefits of my father's experiments.

North is fat and loud, he has a limp.

South is skinny, younger. Light footed.

East is smoking, moving back and forth.

West is almost undetectable. Stepping only on one twig.

East and West are hidden from sight, not moving any closer. They are to stop me if I run. Like last time.

I've been trapped like this before, I was only 15 last time. It was two on one then.

The man behind me grabs me holding around my mouth and under my breast. I grab his arms prepared for my next move. He wreaked of alcohol, I guess kidnapping a young woman doesn't set well on his conscience. Has to drink his courage. His thin arms held me tight as he smelled my hair. What a pervert!

He will be easy to throw.

North enters Fat man in to the light of the moon. He is so cocky, walking slow and talking loudly.

"My my missy, do you remember me?"

I stare at him as if I could burn his soul with my eyes. I wish I had power like that even the ancient magic book I found didn't have anything like that. Of course I remember you this is the fifth time he's tried abducting me. It's been 5 years but still. I'm not giving you the satisfaction!...

"Well I remember you. Last time you left me with this." he points to his limp leg. Yeah I broke it pretty good. He is so slow, and fatter now than before.

"So this time I got you a gift." he pulls out a large knife. This is going to suck, I wasn't ready for a knife... oh well what's one more scar.

West moved again, just a step. I thought I heard him say something but loud mouth makes it impossible to hear.

"The Boss, wants you alive for that big brain of your. He's out of the office till Monday, lucky me that gives me time to get some payback." he walks closer as he talks.

"I'm going to hurt you," he smiled looking me up and down.

He's almost close enough.

"Then we are going to have some fun with you." South chimed in.

"let's see where to start?" he said grabbing my shirt by the shoulder with one hand.

Just a little more to the left and I'll be free... come on... this has to be timed just right.

He smiled a sick smile as he cut in to my shoulder and down my chest. The knife cuts like butter through my shirt. I feel the pain, the blood, as I stare directly into his eyes. I won't give him any satisfaction. He stepped back and leaned to the left to admire his work. Finally in the perfect spots. I tighten my grip around the skinny arms and fling him over my shoulder onto the fat man. He screams in pain as he lands on the knife, the fat man is knocked over and I run like a bat out of hell.

I run to the east. The man to that side's been coughing as he smoked a cigarette, I don't think his lungs can keep up with me. It's the opposite direction is home but I know a place ahead that I can hide. I run deep into the woods. The cold September air numbs my skin to the branches and thorns. As the rain is misting around me.

I can hear, the sound of the two following me...

I can hear the whizzing and coughing of the smoker. I hear him trip and fall.

He is far behind now.

I hear the west one getting closer. I can't slow down, if I slow he'll catch me. I've never had a problem out running someone. This man must be a track star or something.

I've been running for a long time. The cold air has turned into a storm and the rain is freezing. As the muddy forest floor is getting really slick.

The construction site is up ahead, about 30 minutes now. I continue to run I can't hear West through the heavy rain drops, but I still feel like I'm being fallowed.

It's been about a week since I ran past the sight.

I'm so exhausted, it's been such a long day, Why did they have to find me today?

I'm late for my date... this sucks.

I don't even have a phone to call him. He's going to think I'm a bitch, for standing him up.

He was so kind and handsome...

I hate my life.

My mind was clouded as I ran. I didn't see the new cut in the hill side. I fell down the steep incline. I got to my feet and ran again. My clothing now soaking wet stuck to me.I made it to the construction site. Now I am covered in a thick gooey mud.... I need to hide.
