Chapter Five
Licht was a young hunter who had helped me in building my hut so hiring him wasn't much of a big struggle. And because he was a hunter ,spying on the army wouldn't be much of a problem. Like me he also hated the army because he claimed they stole his family's land to build their headquarters and wanted to get them back for what they did to his family.
On his first mission ,I asked him to take photos of the inside of the headquarters with the photo camera I had acquired from the USA when I was in the army.
He came back to me with photos of the headquarters' inside and I was pleased with what he brought back on his first mission.
The headquarters of the army was made up of ten rooms,three were the quarters of the high army officials including the general and three the rooms of the three hundred soldiers at the base ,one the kitchen and the other one the training ground while the last two the laboratories where their experiments were being performed. I didn't know how he was able to sneak into the base without being caught but was glad he did because now I knew that they had laboratories where their vampires could be created.
For days we continued to investigate on their doings and even made a schedule of what the general did every day.
Licht was able to take photos of the army's recent experiment,which was creating super soldiers with vampire blood.
The army's scientists were able to reconstruct the genes of the vampires to become compatible with that of all humans. Genes of vampires were at first inflammable to humans so whenever the scientists tried to merge them with that of a human,they always ended up with a mess.
After the successfully reconstruction of vampires genes,the scientists decided to try out their experiment on a handful of selected soldiers. The experiment turn out to be a success and not only were the scientists able to create vampire soldiers but also vampire soldiers who weren't affected by the sun's UV rays.
Their strength,speed,hearing,and healing ability was way off the charts. These vampire soldiers even look more human than they should after being injected with vampire genes.
The general's plan was to create more soldiers to be sold to other countries at a huge amount. One thing about these soldiers is that they were now being controlled by a mind controller which was being controlled by the general to do his bidding.
After getting evidence of the general's evil doings,I decided to try and bring the US army to destroy the army base and arrest the general.
When the US army arrived they couldn't find traces of the vampire experiment in the building so they just called my photos fake and with no evidence in the building to back my photos,they headed back to their country.
And for my sudden move,the Russian army decided to follow every movement like a dog. So I had to limit myself in my investigation and with that I had to leave licht out of my investigation because his life could be in danger.
When licht was no more with me,I begun to publish my findings in the town's paper but the army made sure that the people never believe me and they resorted to calling me mad and a whole lot of weird names.
No one believed that vampires existed,even when people in the town started to get missing and when the bodies were found with two bite marks on their necks.
When I realised no one believed me,I decided to write all my research in journals in the hope that mankind would find out what the Russian army is doing with human beings,in the course of my death.
With a lot of research on vampires,I was finally able to understand how vampires operate better in the night.
Vampires love hunting in the night because at night the sun is gone and without the sun's UV rays bothering them,they move very fast and are able to hunt their prey accurately.
I was able to note all their weaknesses and wrote down everything.
Vampires Weaknesses
1. Can burn when exposed to sunlight.
2.Can be killed with wood,in the form of wooden bullets or spear.
I just hope that the research on vampires I made would help humanity in a future where vampires would rule humans,one which I dread.
After letting licht go away,I made a discovery that he was caught by the army and injected with their vampire blood. I heard that he got away from the army base.
So I tried to locate and find him ,and with my luck I found him at a remote place and he looked different than usual.
His skin was pale and his iris was light blue. His speed and strength was off the chart as compared to that of humans.
With my help he was able to drink only the blood of animals and his sun problem because he was artificially created like the vampire soldiers he wasn't affected by the sun.
Observing his everyday activities,I made a discovery to how strong vampires are. They had the ability of mind influence.
Which is they could break the mind of humans and reconstruct it to remember what they the vampires wanted them to. I saw licht try it on a farmer's son after he drank his blood and he told him to remember to have fall down and hurt his neck ,if he was asked by anyone why he had a cut on his neck.
I couldn't express my horror at my discovery that not only where vampires fast,have healing ability but now could even control the minds of humans.
So a vampire could control a human to commit suicide. I was aghast at how humans like me have created monsters just to have power and money.
I needed to not only protect licht but also train him to fight on the side of mankind,in case the other vampires try to attack humans.
Vampires were quick learners,this was what I saw when I tried training licht to do some basic martial acts. He was able to learn all the acts in just one training session.
When he was fully trained I built a hidden bunker for him behind a mountain which was hidden from the sun in case his sun resistance failed him.
I left directions of how to find him and the remainder of my research in this journal."
