Chapter 3

Kinley was staring blankly when someone gently tapped the counter. "Oh sorry. What can I get for you today?" "Well I already ordered but just wanted to say that you're really pretty. So can I get your Instagram?" Kinley noticed that the guy who was asking her looked like he was in his early 20's, had a really cute smile and his hair looked messy but in a good way. He smelled really nice too and was an average height. "Sorry sir but I don't give any personal information during work." "Well then what about after work?" "Sir can you please not hold the line since customers are waiting to order." "Wow. I've never been rejected this brutally." "Well now can you move?"

The guy left with a small smile plastered on his face and Kinley breathed a sigh of relief. She then focused on her next customer with a big smile. "Hello! What can I get for you?" "Ahhh. That's what I wanted. A refreshing smile from a pretty lady." It was the wolf girl again. "What can I get you miss?" "C'mon I already told you my name! Don't refer to me as a miss. It makes me feel old." "Well what would you like wolf girl?" "I don't know why but I have started to have a liking for my nickname probably because I got it from a beautiful lady." "Well what would you like?" "A chance to go on a date with you but that's not feasible right now so give me something that you don't like to drink." "And would you like something to eat with it?" "Something you hate to eat?" "Well that would be $6.90 for the Pumpkin Spice Latte and the glazed donut. Would you like to have it here?" "Is that your way of asking me out?" Kinley gave a blank expression as a response.

"Yes I would like that." "Would you be paying with card or cash?" "Card." "Thank you very much. Please wait for your order." "Gladly." When the order was ready Kinley personally went to deliver it and found the girl with her mask and sunglasses still on. "Wolf girl here's your order." "Thank you very much. Want to sit with me?" "I'm still on my shift." "Then can I wait till you're done?" "Sure but I can't guarantee you anything." "No worries. I'm a good chaser." "Yes I can see that." "Hey! You're finally warming up to me." "Why are always wearing that mask? It's so hot outside." "I know but it protects my identity." "Oh okay. Well enjoy your meal." "Thank you."

Kinley went back to the counter and kept on working till her shift ended. By the time it was over it was already 10, Kinley calmly walked out of the place when she heard footsteps rushing behind her. "Hey!!!" Someone grabbed on her shoulder and Kinley almost sprayed pepper spray on that person had she not looked back. "What the holy Jesus!" It was wolf girl yet again. "Are you okay?" "Yeah but why are you trying to spray me?" "Why were you running like a lunatic and grabbing my shoulder?" "Hey I was just excited to see you. Plus you kept me waiting till 10." "Oh shoot. Sorry about that, I totally forgot that you were waiting for me. But seriously why didn't you go home? It's getting late." "Well I wanted to go with you so here I am." "You're an idiot." "Maybe. So?" "So what?"

"You're up for a date?" "I would have gone but I need to get up early tomorrow since I need to work." "Why are you working so much?" "Well unlike someone I need to earn money so I can pay off my debt" "You're in debt? At such a young age?" "Yeah like back in my hometown I took a loan to come here so I need to work." "How much do you need to pay?" "Well I did pay almost all of it but there's still a leftover of Nu. 750,000." "How much is that in dollars?" "$8950.36" "And how much have you made today?" "I'd say 144 dollars." "Damn you're good at maths." "Trust me it wasn't always that way. I used to suck at maths back in my school days." "I can't believe that." "Well sometimes situations make you different."

" What if I pay you that money. Would you go out on a date with me?" "Really? You sound like you're paying someone to sleep with you." "I didn't mean it that way." "I see." "No, I really mean it. I just-" "You just have way too much money that you can't wait to spend on stupid things?" "That and this is not stupid. I want to spend it on you." "Why?" "Let's just say that I feel an instant connection from you." "It still doesn't explain why." "Just because." "And just because I find you weird, I kindly reject your offer." "Can't you think about it once?" "No." "But why not? I know plenty of people who would jump right into the offer." "Well I guess I'm not that desperate." "But I am. So c'mon let's just try doing this once." "Not happening." "Pretty pretty please with a cherry on top." "What are you? Six years old asking for an ice cream?" "Maybe but only for you." "Well then it's time to grow up and see that the world doesn't give you what you want." "But it's not the world that I am asking for, it's you."
