Chapter 2

Kinley quickly made the wolf cut girl's order and when she was done she loudly called out her name. "Your order is ready Wolf cut girl!" "I'm here. And I clearly remember giving my name as Hun and not wolf cut girl." "I would've called you the Karen hunter but that didn't sound appropriate so please leave as you have already got what you have ordered." "But I still haven't got my answers." "Mam this is a place where I work and not socialize." "Hmmm... that's sad. I'll be back again so see you tomorrow. Bye hun!" Kinley finally let out a breath of relief when the stranger left. "What a weirdo."

After her shift, Kinley returned to her house to find that her roommate still hadn't reached home. So she called on her number. "Yo Mia?! Where you at! And why's it so loud!" "I told you that I was attending a concert!" "Oh! The one that favorite singer is holding!" "Yeah! And it's so lit! You should've come with me!" "No thanks the concert ticket was way too expensive!" "Well it's because she's famous as hell!" "Yeah yeah! Take care and be safe!" "You too girl!" Kinley ended the call and went to take a shower. "Damn I wish I was as rich as her." Kinley said to herself. Mia's parents were filthy rich and Kinley would find it amusing that her parents would give her whatever she asked them to get her. But she couldn't even complain as the house that she was staying at was Mia's, a gift from her parents on her eighteenth birthday. Kinley could still vividly remember the day when Mia had asked her to stay at her place when she had told her that she would be coming to the US to work. They had met online and since then they were together. Kinley headed straight for her bed after she was done showering and after sometime fell asleep.

The next day, Kinley woke up early and went to work. She was peacefully taking orders and the day seemed to go on calmly without any dramas when around afternoon she noticed that the wolf hair girl was back again. "Hey!" She started speaking but her voice sounded a little rough. "Hello mam! What can I get you?" Kinley began in her customer service voice. "So you're name is Kinley? Am I pronouncing it right?" "What can I get you mam?" "Your number Kinley hun." "What can I get you to drink or eat mam?" "Ow that hurt. But since it's coming from someone so beautiful I think I'll be okay. Can you recommend something for a sore throat and give me that?" "Your total for Honey Citrus Mint Tea is $3.71." "Here you go." "I'll call you when it's ready." "But you didn't write my name." "Mam please refrain from blocking the line. There are other customers waiting." "Hmmm...I'll tell you my name later than."

This time Kinley took her time to make the drink and then called out to the stranger. "Wolf hair girl your order is here!" The girl slowly stood up from her place and walked towards Kinley. "Hun my name is Ava. Ava as in available." Kinley didn't show any reaction even though she was the sort of person to laugh at the smallest things. "Seriously? Nothing? Now I'm starting to get disappointed. Anyways Ava is my real name so make sure to call me that next time. See you soon hun."

Kinley kept on working the whole day and when it was finally time for her to go home she saw few people standing in the dark. She got scared and didn't know what to do so she ran in the opposite direction and took the long way back to her home.

By the time Kinley reached back at her place she was breathing so heavily that she even woke Mia up. "Girl what happened? Is everything okay?" Mia worriedly asked her pal. "Yeah I'm fine it's just that I ran back home." "But why? Is it raining outside?" "No I just took the long way back home." "Are you nuts? Why would you do that?" "Because on the road, that I usually took, few people were standing there so I didn't think twice and ran." "But why? Did they try to harm you?" "Uhhhhhh no." "Well then I'm guessing it's because they were guys." "Yeah." "Girl they won't eat you." "You can't be too sure about that. What if they murder me and mutilate my body to the point that it's unrecognizable?" "You need to quit watching and reading creepy things. It's messing with your head now. Here drink some water." "Thanks." "If you get so afraid of guys then how will you date and marry? Unless you are that kind of person." "Be specific." "You know the type that only falls for fictional characters." "I don't even have time for myself, do you think I would have time to watch animes and cartoons?" "But you still read books." "That is true but I never fall for the characters because I already know that they aren't real." "You never give yourself the hope to dream and expect even a little which to be honest is really sad." "Got no time for things like that ways I'm going to sleep so goodnight."

Kinley was tossing and turning in her bed as she was unable to sleep due to her friend's words. "Why? Why do I never date? Am I really that busy with life?" Kinley kept on thinking about it till she finally passed out. The next morning was again the same kind of day for Kinley. She was at her workplace where she would take orders after orders and then go home later onwards. It was a vicious cycle where nothing changed and things were getting awfully predictable. Kinley wanted to experience something new, something different. Something that would throw her right out of her tracks. Something that would make life worth living again.
