Chapter 253 What actually happened?

Ichigo and everyone reached the train station, where there was a rumor that many people had gone missing.

The sun was about to set, so the sky reflected orange hues over the platform, creating a beautiful ambiance.

Nezuko was now on Ichigo's shoulder. She was very light, and she didn't make him feel like he was carrying anything at all.

"So this is the train station in the Taisho era. As expected, it gave off a very different vibe from the normal train station."

He was fascinated by the old style architecture. The sound of steam engines and the sight of people in traditional clothing walked around, minding their own business.

Tanjirou and Nezuko also looked around with excitement. This was the first time they had come to the train station. So everything was new to them.

As for Zenitsu and Inosuke, they didn't seem to care much about the train station. Zenitsu was busy being jealous of Ichigo, while Inosuke didn't care about anything to begin with.

"Please come this way. I know a kind of place where we can get more information about the current situation."

Rengoku walked toward a place where he thought they could get information. It was a restaurant.

The place wasn't big, and there were not many customers.

"This is the kind of place where we can get information for free." Rengoku said it with a smile.

Ichigo and the others followed Rengoku inside.

This place was filled with the delicious aroma of chicken broth simmering on the stone stove. The cozy atmosphere and warm lighting made it feel like they were at home.

Rengoku ordered food for everyone.

He didn't even have to ask anything, as the owner of the restaurant complained to him about the abnormalities that had been happening lately.

Rengoku and everyone listened attentively. They learned that there had been mysterious disappearances in the area, and the owner suspected that it must be because of the demon.

"The Mugen train has finally been out of service. So there are not many people who would come to the train station. If the case isn't solved soon, the restaurant might have to close down," the owner said with a sigh.

Rengoku felt empathy toward the owner of the restaurant. However, he couldn't do anything for now.

He would try his best to solve this mystery and help the owner save his restaurant from closing down.

Rengoku ate all of his food, then ordered more. This, at least, could help the owner a little bit.

"Umai!"

Rengoku said it with a loud voice. He always lives his best every day, as it might be the last day for him. This mentality gave everyone a new perspective on life.

"You sure eat with gusto, don't you?"

The owner felt very happy that he ate all of his food with such enthusiasm. Rengoku's positive energy was contagious, inspiring other people to do their best as well.

The owner gave them many free side dishes after that and said that they should have come here more often.

After the tasty meal, everyone walked out of the restaurant. It was as Rengoku had told them. A restaurant was a kind of place that they could get information from.

"We should go and investigate the Mugen train platform first. I think we might find something interesting there."

Ichigo wanted to go and check the center of the problem first.

He felt that it was the best way to grasp more about the situation and come up with a solution.

The information that they got from the owner was not specific enough, so they needed a more in-depth look at the area.

Plus, Ichigo had a hunch that starting at the train station would lead them to discover important clues about the unsettling incidents happening around the train station.

Rengoku thought the same, and they went toward the Mugen train platform.

Ichigo when he stepped inside the building. He could sense foul energy emitting from somewhere. He wanted to tell Rengoku about it, but he witnessed a very funny scene.

A young girl suddenly threw a red bean paste bun on his face, and then he grabbed it from his face and ate it, saying that it was delicious.

He then spoke with the young girl named Fuku and her grandma. He even brought all of the snacks from them.

"What actually happened?"

Ichigo didn't know what happened, but Rengoku said that they should go to the shed to look into the Mugen train.

In order to do that, they needed to ride the train. They would have to act as snack sellers.
