Shinigami Academy Part 2

But just like the instructor said, the touch of the weapon was cold. That meant he immediately felt something when he touched it. To make sure it wasn't just the cold feeling of a cold weapon he also touched three other swords.

That action put him into a curious state. He was surprised to notice that every sword actually had a different feel to it.

But when he touched the fifth and sixth sword, the feeling stopped and only the touch of a normal object remained. That confused him somewhat because, from then onward, he could feel nothing from any other Asauchi.

Gengorō watched him walk around and became somewhat curious about this boy as well. That was because he could see the surprised expression when he touched his first sword. It was rare that someone immediately could feel a connection to their Asauchi.

What made him surprised even more was that it seemed that he felt unwell at the first Asauchi and moved on to the next ones. This was alright. He did state to him if he didn't like the feeling he just could skip it for the time being.

But he didn't think this boy would end up feeling another connection to different Asauchi.

After all, he didn't mention that feeling unwell mostly meant a good enough connection with an Asauchi to feel its overwhelming presence. Some weapons are just too powerful for their owners. Hence the words that it may not suit the person.

And most other Asauchi would feel like nothing at all if there is no connection. Only training could let a connection build up to another Asauchi after feeling an already existing connection. Most average Shinigami would start at that point as well.

It just shows how rare it actually is to feel an immediate connection. But at the same time, it is not something Gengorō hasn't seen already.

But soon his surprised look went into slight shock.

After Jin touched four different swords and seemed to feel them all out. It meant he had a connection to all four of them!

Gengorō could clearly see and feel that this kid did feel something from those Asauchi. Jin´s spiritual power was slightly fluctuating every time he touched an Asauchi. That was impossible!

If an Asauchi shows its connection to someone, it would normally not allow other Asauchi to mingle with that wielder any longer. That was also the reason why every Shinigami only had one Zanpakuto. It was birthed with him and will die with him.

Luckily this kid went on and touched more and more swords. It made Gengorō somewhat relieved because he thought he was just trolling around and that he was miraculously attuned to four different Asauchi.

He made a note to report this little event to the lord commander. "You should pick the one you feel something from. How about the first one you grabbed?" he said with a small sigh.

Jin grabbed the one he picked up first and frowned. "But this one feels weird. Can I at least pick one of the other three that feel...kinder?"

"What?"

"Well." Jin picked the other three swords he felt something from. "These three feel much better than this one." He compared them with his first Asauchi and showed Gengorō which one he meant.

"Unbelievable...You are saying you feel something from each of them?" Gengorō just stopped making sense out of this before he advised him. And now he genuinely was amazed by this kid. But he still didn't believe that all four would end up being his Zanpakuto.

"Yes?", asked Jin back.

"Alright, then all four of them will be yours." Gengorō looked at all the other people and started to explain. "I did not mention it yet, but one does only feel something when a connection to the Asauchi is established. Only a few people managed to do that at the first go. And it is even rarer that someone has a twin weapon. There are only two cases of twin weapons as far as I know. Two of our Captains in the Gotei13 wield them. That is already what having a twin weapon can lead to."

Then he looked back at Jin "I am not sure what your feelings about those swords indicate, and I am not going to say that you are one of those rare cases but keep them for now. Your true Zanpakuto will change its outer appearance slowly the stronger your connection to it becomes."

"At that point, the other Asauchi will very likely yield to the stronger one and terminate their relationship with you. That is also why people don't feel anything from other Asauchi after having a connection to one Asauchi already. So as soon as you don't feel anything any longer from any of those Asauchi, you should return them back."

"And come to think of it. Those blades are only borrowed to you. They will be gifted to you after you graduate and become official Shinigami." Then Gengorō pointed to a place where silk bags were lying around. "And you need to keep them in those carrying bags at all times."

Jin just nodded and walked there to grab four bags. `Weird, I hope I don't end up having to wield all four of these. It would become a pain in the ass to come up with a fighting style with them. Do I need to ask Ukitake and Kyöraku for lessons then?`

When he went back to Matsuri and Fujimaru, the group of students looked at Jin as if they saw some kind of monster and there were even some envious looks that clearly told him that they did not appreciate him having four of those Asauchi.

"Wow, four at once!" Fujimaru grinned. "I wonder how many I get?"

Matsuri hit his head, "You are lucky if you even get one, you doofus." Then she started to whisper, "Can you really feel something from all four of them?"

Jin only nodded to her question.

"How does it feel like?" she asked again. Matsuri seemed to be eager to pick one suited to herself as well.

"It is somewhat weird. On feels cold. The next feels warm, and then there is one that feels fresh? I am not even sure if I can really describe it. The one I don't really feel all too well about actually feels like there is nothing, but at the same time, it feels like something dark?" Jin was explaining his feeling from his first sword with the last words. He tried to explain it to her as much as he could.

"I see...So any feeling is alright as long it is one? Good then. Let's do this." Matsuri was kinda hyped about it now.

The other students also started to pick their Asauchi one by one by the time they stopped their conversation. There was actually another woman that had picked up two Asauchi, and Gengorō only could scratch his head. He wondered what was going on today. So many rare cases? There were actually some people that felt an immediate connection to their Asauchi.

Jin was also surprised because unlike him, the Asauchi in the hands of the woman immediately changed colors and clearly indicated them to be twin Asauchi. So he focused his gaze unto that woman and could see her features.

The woman had long black cascading hair coupled with slate grey eyes. In front of her face, she had most of her hair on her left side, and the other hair was neatly combed to her back and held in place with some white hairpieces a little bit over her right ear.

She was actually beautiful. And by the looks of it, she was also barely older than Jin himself. At least appearance wise. But Jin had other things to wonder about. Who exactly was this? Just at that moment, he heard some other students beside him whisper again.

This time he could clearly hear what they were saying.

"Tsk. Look at that. Isn't that the symbol of the Kuchiki clan? First, this little brat from the sticks gets four swords, and now that clan has a twin blade user? As if they are not prestigious enough. How come I ended up in the same year as these abnormalities?"

"Banri, be quieter. Look, that kid is glancing over here." Another person stopped his rambling and pointed at Jin.

That guy with the reddish-brown hair that was named Banri glared at him and clicked his tongue. But before he did that he gave him a look as if to say to fuck off and stop looking at him.

"What is the deal with them?" frowned Fujimaru after noticing their gaze as well.

"People that don't really seem to like us...", said Jin and refocused his attention to Matsuri that now came back with an Asauchi herself.

Jin smiled because he could see her being happy after choosing her sword. "What did you feel?"

She did a thumbs up. "I felt something warm. So I am pretty sure this here is my Zanpakuto."

"Huh? So only one? Meh, sis." commented Fujimaru.

That ticked her off. "Oh, let's see how you fare. Somehow I believe you will end up with a sword that will feel average."

"By the way. Where did you look at?"

"Oh, that girl there has twin weapons. The people started to talk about her.", said Fujimaru and pointed at the woman. Jin already knew from that gossiping that it was a member of the Kuchiki clan.

And that really made him curious. He didn't know about any female members of the Kuchiki clan besides Rukia and Hisana. That is also why he still had his attention on her and glanced over from time to time. Even now, when he talked with Matsuri.

"...Is that so." Matsuri sounded somewhat frosty at this moment, and Jin shifted his focus to her.

He immediately noticed that she was glaring holes at him.

"What is it? Did I do something?" asked Jin.

Jin knew that Matsuri could become somewhat angry if he did things that were not proper. But why now?

"Nothing...", she answered and just looked away.

When her brother went to get his own sword, she started to look at the Kuchiki woman and somewhat glare so much that the woman reacted and looked over to them.

Hope you enjoyed.

If not do tell what exactly it is. Dots and just saying meh ain't no real critic. :)
