The Abandoned Palace Of Mysteries!

The battle didn't last long. The monster while running fell which seemed stupid. We took advantage of this situation and charged towards him.

Till the giant got back to his senses, Uniclaw, Tortunem and Magnum were launched into the air, directly on his stomach. He yelled in pain, which sounded more like a lion's roar. Uniclaw acted like a bladed boomerang and came back to Lily whereas our weapons were still stuck in his gut.

Oliver was brave enough to get down of the hermit and run to the monster lying flat. He climbed on his stomach and brought out Tortunem. He didn't care about my Magnum (which was rude) and thrust his sword near the nose of the giant. The giant was now unable to even yell properly.

I left the hermit's back and quickly got Magnum out. Lily came up too. Rock Flames was laughing at the sight of the dying giant. After striking him for some time, we left the body and came back down where Rock Flames awaited us.

The giant was still alive. "One mistake and you won. It was just because of that." He whined. The monster still had his attitude. "Very well. You defeated me. Before dying, I shall tell you the story of the abandoned palace." The giant stated.

We had all our ears cleared, waiting to know the tale. "I am Buvaton. I am from the species of giant who can live for thousands of years. Long ago, when King Jalaar came to Darknor, I was a five year old child." Buvaton explained. I tried to imagine a five years old, six feet Buvaton.

"Right where we stand, there once was a palace. The abandoned palace. I don't know why it is called that though." The giant said. "Anyways, the palace was always…. Dark. It looked haunted and people rumored there were dark spirits inside. When King Jalaar arrived, he decided to make the palace his headquarters as it was the center point of the whole Darknor."

We listened attentively as he continued, "The palace was the biggest monument ever built in Darknor. It had thousands of rooms with the main court at the peak of the main tower." Buvaton made it feel a really very dark place to live. "King Jalaar had a desire of conquering the whole Darknor then finally sit on the throne of the abandoned palace. But his wishes were left unfulfilled when he was sealed by the great magic master. With that, even the abandoned palace vanished, for reasons we are yet to search for. The palace is a mystery."

The story was a little creepy and I was trying to not get involved too much into it. Then the story came to an end, "In the end, when King Jalaar will rise again, the palace is bound to appear. Right where we stand, you all will fight the ultimate war, or should I say, you all will die here."

Saying so, Buvaton's head fell back. He died.
