Chapter 14: Logging Out

Logging out of the game after his exciting play through Gruv had on a concerned face.

"Credits, Credits, Credits" he mumbled.

"Ring Ring"

On the bed his phone was ringing.

Picking up the phone he could hear his landlord, Rupert , Screaming to pay him in whatever form possible.

"I NEED credits, cash, or anything.

Anything I can sell! I need the most top end capsule.....just send it online...Go farm me some credits, the monthly payment is 10 credits right now." said Rupert.

"Well aint that lovely." said Gruv

Smiling while leaving his apartment and walking to his place of work.

Many shops where closed walking on the sidewalk and the overall feel of the area felt stale and dark.

Reaching the Restaurant, with its lights on, he saw David cooking some food.

No one was in the restaurant at the moment. Deathly silent except for the sizzling of food.

"Hello David I'm quitting" said Gruv.

"Good choice son, I have changed all the costs on the menu to credits.

I cant afford someone's pay right now.

Hopefully we can live through this and our restaurant will still be in one piece.

Go play New Heaven, you might even make a fortune as they say.

This is a opportunity of a life time son" said David

On his way back to his 1 room apartment he stopped by a local government facility which where trading out money for gaming capsules and anything related to the game(Merch?) for the prior currency.

While there, Gruv took out his apartment rent he saved up and payed for some Nutrient bottles which can be attached to the gaming pod for hours of gameplay without food or water.

These bottles where sold in grades, the higher the grade the longer it lasted. From the highest the Grades went S, A, B, C, D, E, F.

Gruv got 2 bottles of D grade Nutrients for his entire rent which would last him 24 hours of in game time without leaving.

On his way back home he could see cars going towards the building he just went to.

Which was jammed pack with people almost throwing out money into the cashiers hands for the products.

The farther away he got when walking back to his place the less crowded it became, to almost being a ghost town.

Once home he plugged in his Nutrient bottles into his capsule. His capsule only had 3 spots for these Nutrient bottles. Laying down into his pod he got ready for his next playthrough of the game that would change his life.

Smiling he closed his eyes and booted up the game.

"Welcome Back to New Heaven!"
