The Death Of Ethan

In an apartment in NJ, a boy with long brown hair that reached his shoulders was on his laptop. He lay on a red couch that had been worn down by time, his white T-shirt had wrinkles littered all over it. He tapped his soft face while thinking, on his laptop there was a Google doc.

This Google Doc was titled 'Oracles', this boy was an aspiring author who wanted to stand alongside the other top writers. He wanted to write his world, which was filled with superpowered beings called Oracles.

His mother who had a voluptuous body and silver eyes passed him by she was wearing an apron, the man typed his Google doc listing everything that an Oracle could do. His fingers were a blur and excitement and ideas filled the boy's head.

Mom: "Honey! Your breakfast is ready!"

Boy: "Alright Mom, make sure not to break the table this time!"

Mom: "IT WAS A ONE TIME THING!"

Boy: "Everyone says that."

The boy whispered as he took out a band that was in his pocket and made his long hair into a bun, the man had little body fat and only a tiny bit of muscle. He was also decently tall, he was about 5'9 in terms of height.

His smooth wooden floor creaked as the boy walked towards the living room, there were a bunch of windows to let light inside the house. He entered the living room where there was a table that could fit four people, on the table there were three plates of spaghetti.

The spaghetti had cheddar gently poured onto it, the plate seemed to sweat from the heat of the spaghetti. The aroma slipped into the boy's nose causing him to rush to the seat to sit down and eat, his mother softly giggled as the boy quickly ate up everything.

Mom: "Well, Ethan I'm not going to be home for a while"

Ethan: "Again? Mom, when I see you come back you are always tired. Are you sure you can keep up with this new job, if you don't want to work you can just say it and I'll drop my work as an author? So I can help you with the money."

Mom: "NO! Ethan, you are not dropping your dreams… Sorry, Ethan I'm fine I just need to get used to the job."

Ethan's mom put her hand on Ethan's fluffy head and rubbed it with love, she smiled at him with all the love in her heart. She stood up and then walked to the kitchen, Ethan saw that his mom's hands were shaking.

Ethan: "Why do you hide the truth from me? We have to stick together…"

Ethan whispered as he touched his hand, his mother in the kitchen was quickly chopping food. Her knife quick and efficient in its job.

*Chop!*

*Chop!*

*Chop!*

She sliced some carrots, she started to slice more and more. Ethan appeared behind her and watched her slice up the carrots with interest.

Mom: "So, what are these Oracles you were talking about?"

Ethan: "FINALLY! THIS IS WHAT I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR!!"

Mom: "Make it quick, I got things to do."

Ethan: "Basically, Oracles are superpowered humans they gain their powers by their unique cells. These cells are called Oracle Cells, and they are capable of evolving. When an Oracle Cell evolves then the ability that the person gets evolves too."

Ethan stopped and took a breather, his mom looked at Ethan who was panting and chuckled. She waited for him to catch his breath, Ethan after catching his breath looked like he was about to unleash a barrage of words.

Mom: "Don't make it too long, as I said."

Ethan: "Oracle Cells are very strong, and during certain events they evolve. There, I won't continue because if I do, I think I'll have a heart attack."

Ethan looked at his mom, behind her there was a massive clear window. Outside everything was normal, but something seemed off? There were no people, or cars nor animals it was like both of them were the only ones left alive.

Ethan then saw something light up in the distance, before he was able to say anything he was vaporized by energy.

----

A dark infinite void that stretched out everywhere, there was no light or life only the darkness that encompassed all. It was so black that racists were mad at it, in this void a white flame appeared. This was the soul of Ethan, the flame expanded until it resembled with Ethan looked like.

Ethan raised his hands and looked at them, the flames leaked out, and he widened his eyes in shock. He quickly looked around, his head so much that it looked like it would break. The poor boy fell onto his knee's and held his head, tears threatened to pour out of his eyes.

Ethan: "N-no! This can't be! I'm dead! It was so quick, I couldn't even feel anything! I didn't have a chance to hear what was troubling mom, I didn't even had to chance to complete my dream! This is too soon!"

Ethan yelled into the empty void, he stood up and took deep breaths to calm down. His throat relaxed, and he looked at the void. A light shone from above, it was divine a being made of stars flew down.

His eyes were made of the energy of suns, this had to be god. His mere presence told him that this was his creator, a cool aura was released from god and made Ethan feel very calm. God looked at Ethan as his eyes shifted into a face of sadness and regret.

God: "Son, as you know I'm god. You died, due to a nuclear explosion. You see some idiots used a nuke on your area, and millions of innocents died. I am sorry, for stripping you of your dreams and future."

Ethan looked at god and waved his arms quickly as sweat somehow dripped down his face. Ethan was confused about why god would think he would need to say sorry. God's stars dimly glowed, like each star was upset.

Ethan: "Why do you need to apologize? Not everyone is going to be good. Even if you made them it's still not your fault about what they did."

God: "You're right Ethan, now let us continue. Since you died I would offer you to enter heaven, but things are getting rough up there. So, do you want to be reincarnated instead? Another chance, in a new world."

God said as Ethan smiled and nodded.
