chapter 14: The Elemental Spirit

"[Flame Recovery Magic: Phoenix Robe]"

"It's impossible...!! How did he recover with Flame Magic? That can't be right! Everyone only has one magic attribute! Could this be the result of the Diamond Kingdom's experiment?" Klaus yelled out in disbelief.

Noelle clenched her fists and shouted, "I'll put out those flames!" She began to chant a spell, and her hands began to glow with a bright light.

Before Noelle had a chance to finish her spell, Mars charged towards her and used the momentum to swip at her with his sword. Noelle was defenseless against the attack and was sent flying back.

She slumped to the ground. Everyone was silent as they watched Noelle, their friend, lying on the ground.

"Noelle!" Memosa shouted out in distress, as she watched her cousin get flung across the room like a rag doll.

"NOEEEEELLE!! WHY YOOOUU!!" Asta screamed in rage as he saw Noelle lying on the ground. He clenched his fists so tightly that his knuckles were turning white.

"Noelle..."

Rowan felt goosebumps rise on his skin as he watched Noelle lying motionless on the ground.

Rowan's expression changed from one of joy to one of anger. His eyes were filled with fury as he watched Noelle lying on the ground, her blood spilling out onto the floor. His fists were balled up tightly as he prepared to unleash his full power on the Diamond Mage.

"You think you can just get away with this? I'll make you regret ever crossing paths with us!" Rowan shouted as he began to gather the power as his grimoire started to glow beside him.

The temperature dropped drastically as Rowan dashed towards the Diamond Mage, ready to unleash his full power. However, the Diamond Mage wasted no time and shot a barrage of crystals towards him. Rowan quickly countered with a slash from his new sword, sending a massive wave of magic towards his opponent.

"[ICE MAGIC: GLAZE FLASH]!"

The wave completely broke the Diamond Mage's armor, sending him crashing into the wall.

Rowan stared in the direction his opponent had landed, making sure he wouldn't get up a second time. Asta went in front of him and as he did so, Rowan coughed up blood. The immense power he had used had taken a toll on his body, and he was struggling to stay conscious. Noelle, who had been lying on the ground, slowly started to move and regain consciousness.

"Rowan..."

Noelle slowly opened her eyes and looked at Rowan. She could see the determination in his eyes.

Asta rushed to Rowan's side and asked, "Are you okay, Rowan? Are you hurt?"

Rowan shook his head and smiled weakly. "I'm fine. I'm just a little tired. Don't worry about me." He then looked over at Noelle and said, "I'm glad you're okay, princess..."

Boom!

"Rowan! Asta! Look out!"

With a loud boom, the Diamond Kingdom's Mage appeared once again, wearing crystalline armor. He created a large sword and loomed over both Asta and Rowan. His eyes were filled with rage as he glared at the two of them. "YOU CAN'T BE ALLOWED TO WIN AGAINST ME! DIE!"

Rowan, with all the strength he had left in his body, pushed Asta out of the way, just in time to avoid the Diamond Mage's attack. At the same time, Yuno, who had been trapped in a crystal, broke free.

"Rowan!" Both Yuno and Asta yelled out as they rushed to his side.

Time seemed to stand still as the giant sword was about to hit Rowan, but then suddenly both Rowan and Yuno's grimoires began to glow. With a powerful blast of magic, the sword and the Diamond Mage were sent flying away, crashing into the wall and creating a large crater. Everyone looked at each other in surprise, relieved that they had managed to escape the clutches of death.

Klaus, who had been watching from the sidelines, asked in disbelief, "What was that?"

As the crystals that had been keeping Klaus in binds started to dissolve, he looked around in confusion.

As the dust settled, Klaus realized what had happened. "It was the spell! It's broken! This time, he really is down!" He shouted in disbelief.

Asta rushed back to Rowan's side and saw that he was still standing in the same spot, barely conscious. He was pale and covered in sweat, but he was still standing.

"Mimosa, I'm okay. Please help Rowan!" Noelle shouted out to Mimosa, who was healing her with her plant magic. Mimosa immediately snapped out of her trance and ran to Rowan's side.

She quickly assessed the situation and saw that Rowan was in a critical state and needed urgent help. She placed her hands on his chest and began to channel her healing magic into him. The magic slowly started to take effect and Rowan started to regain some of his strength. He opened his eyes and smiled weakly at Mimosa, thanking her for her help.

"Thank you, Mimosa. I think that's your name," Rowan said softly.

Mimosa nodded shyly, her cheeks turning a faint pink as she looked into his eyes.

Suddenly, the ground beneath them started to rumble and the walls of the dungeon began to shake. Cracks started to form in the walls and rocks started to fall from the ceiling.

"[Wind Creation Magic: Celestial Wind Ark]"

Everyone quickly followed Yuno's command and boarded the Celestial Wind Ark. Luck carried Rowan on the board and Mimosa quickly went to work, using her healing magic to keep him stable. As the Celestial Wind Ark began to rise, everyone looked down at the crumbling dungeon.

"We should save the other guy!" Asta shouted to the others pointing at the Diamond Kingdom's Mage.

"He tried to kill us! We were so lucky to survive that!" Klaus shouted in disbelief.

"We came here to capture the dungeon, not to kill our enemies!" Asta shouted in response to Klaus.

Yuno quickly casted his Wind Magic to reach the Diamond Kingdom's Mage, but it was too late. The walls of the dungeon were crumbling and the debris was raining down on them.

                       -Small Timeskip-

"Damn.... my body still feels sore." Rowan groaned as he slowly tried to stand up, but he was too weak.

"Rowan! Are you alright? I-I mean... whatever..." Noelle looked at him with a worried expression on her face, trying to hide her relief.

Klaus suddenly hugged the three of them, Asta, Yuno and Rowan, tightly. "I'm so glad you guys are all okay,"

"Ouch!" Rowan exclaimed as Klaus hugged him. "Hey, let go of me! I'm not completely healed yet, it still hurts!"

"I'm so sorry," Klaus said, his eyes welling up with tears. "I was so foolish to think that you were just peasants. You three are excellent Magic Knights of the Clover Kingdom, and I should have recognized it sooner."

"Mister four-eyes, it hurts!" Asta said, pushing against Klaus's chest.

"Let me go" Yuno said as he pushed against his chest.

Klaus and Asta started to argue, Rowan noticed that Noelle's clothes were shredded and he could see her smooth skin.

Rowan pointed to Noelle's clothes. "Your clothes are ripped by the way, Noelle." He said.

Noelle gasped and her face turned red. "Ehhhh!!!", she exclaimed.

She then quickly blasted a water ball at Rowan, but it changed course in mid-air and hit Asta instead.

"Ahhh... Why me?!"

"So isn't anyone gonna talk how did the Dimond guy got defeated?" Luck looked around the group but no one spoke up.

                   -Black Bulls Hideout -

It had been a week since the dungeon incident and everyone had settled back into their regular routines. Rowan was in the backyard, practicing with his sword that he had acquired from the dungeon. The others were scattered throughout the yard, engrossed in their own work that was lazing around.

After some time, he stood up and made his way back to his room, feeling exhausted from the day's training. He lay down on his bed and closed his eyes for a few moments before finally opening his grimoire. He looked at the new spells he had acquired from the dungeon, studying them with an eagerness to learn and master them.

"This spell is really cool but this spell.... let's try!"

Rowan focused on his mana and concentrated on the spell. He then raised his hands and shouted, "Ice Magic: Bone Chilling Flames!" A bluish-white flame appeared in his hands.

Rowan grinned with satisfaction as he saw the result of his spell. "Wow, that's really cool!" He exclaimed, shaking his hand as the white flames disappeared.

"I'm ready to start the elemental spirit summoning now. I was really tired lately, so I delayed it to today," Rowan exclaimed as he opened his grimoire and began channeling his mana.

Rowan concentrated his mana on the spell and the air around him began to swirl. Suddenly, a blue flower dropped from the sky and landed on the ground in front of him. As the flower dropped, it started to transform and take the shape of a little fairy.

She wore a small, light blue dress that seemed to be made of flower petals and had a pair of white wings that fluttered gently. Her hair was a beautiful snowy blue and her eyes were greenish blue and icy.

"Are you the elemental spirit I summoned?" Rowan asked in awe as he stared at the fairy

"Yes, master. I don't have a name, so you can call me whatever you want."

Rowan smiled at the fairy and said, "Oh, you can just call me Rowan. And for your name, how about Neve? It suits you."

"As you wish, Rowan." She said in a gentle voice.

Rowan smiled as he looked at the fairy. "Well then, Neve it is!" he said, a mischievous twinkle in his eye. "Let's go to the hall. I'm a little hungry after the training, and I have to introduce you to the group," he said.

Rowan made his way out of his room and headed towards the hall of the Black Bulls. As he walked in, he saw the other Bulls enjoying their meals, talking and laughing with each other. Rowan smiled and walked over to a bench, sitting down to join the others.

Asta's eyes widened as he spotted the small fairy on Rowan's shoulder. "Oh!...Rowan what's the thing on your shoulder??" he exclaimed, pointing at the fairy.

Rowan turned to see what Asta was referring to and saw Neve perched on his shoulder. "Oh, this is Neve. She's the elemental spirit I summoned."

"Wow, she is so cute! But I thought there were only four types of elemental spirits..." Vanessa looked at Neve in awe.

Charmy's eyes widened at the sight of the fairy. "What does she eat? Is she yummy? How much does she eat?" she asked.

Asta quickly interjected, "Don't eat her Charmy! You can't eat Neve."

"You can come to me too! I'm sure I can find something nice for you."

Noelle looked at Neve with stars in her eyes.

"No thanks," Neve said sternly.

Then Nero flew on Rowan's head and Neve and Nero both looked at each other. Their eyes met and it seemed there was a spark of electricity that came to both their eyes and clashed with each other.

Yami walked up in front of everyone and surveyed the gathering.

"What is that thing over there?" Yami asked, pointing at Neve. "Ahh... whatever. The Knight Headquarters want a report, so head over there."

"Huh?!!"

"The Magic knights headquarters!"

Yami turned his gaze to Luck. "You start some trouble, I'm sure," he said, wagging his finger. "So you can't go instead we've got a fighting mission. So you can go on that with Magna."

"A mission! Let's team up and do our best, Magna," Luck said excitedly.

"Creepy! Are you really Luck!? You sure you're not Grey!?" Magna said, raising an eyebrow and giving Luck a suspicious look.

Charmy's eyes lit up with excitement. "Me! Me! Over here! I'll go then! What sort of yummy things are waiting in the realm...?" she said eagerly.

"Uh no, how could you go? All you do is eat every day," Yami exclaimed.

Charmy, then quickly ran out of the door.
