Mana Boars

There is no shortage of meat in this world as most of the mana beast are edible . But killing mana beasts are the difficult part for most people . A proper hit from a mana beast is enough to kill a weak magic user . That is why it is always advised to study the strength and weakness of mana beast before confronting it .

As I was flying ,I recalled the mana boars from the anime .The boars were of fire aptitude and twice my size . Now if I think about it species with fire nature are more in number than others .They were famous for ravaging fields and causing destruction where ever they went . Sosshi village was near the grand magic zone so attacks like this were common.

As the village got near I saw the ravaged forest outside the village with boars resting .I launched at the nearest boar form the air with mana reinforced kick breaking its skull instantly killing it. I decided to only use my dagger to kill the boars . I was used to fight against single enemy , to experience a fight where the numbers were against me would be a good experience .

I would usually take a lot time for other people but for my current strength it won't take much longer , my attack managed to draw their attention and all of them charged at me causing a mini earthquake . I took out my dagger ,reinforced it with mana and charged at the first boar .I planted the dagger in its brain and jumped in the air making him a platform . While in the air I did a full 360 rotation launching mana charged slashes all around killing nearby boars. I launched down with a long slash dividing the boar below me in half .Some used flame attacks on my but I unleashed my own flames devouring it and covering the attacker .

I unleashed all the dagger styles sister taught me around me causing a massacre . I could increase the length of the dagger using mana and make it a sword to attack boards that didn't come under my range .

It took 20 minutes to kill all 50 boars . Fighting all of them helped me sharpen my senses and better insight on adaptability . But getting covered in blood was not a good experience .

These boars didn't knew mana reinforcement like the shadow wolfs so killing them was easy .I got near the largest boar and absorbed some of its vitality using 'devouring flames' but the improvement was minuscule . A year ago that spell became nearly useless as the vitality absorbed was too little to show any improvement . But no matter how much I tried , I could not make it a proper spell as it never showed up in my status panel .

I cut open its belly and tried to compare it with other species I researched before. After dissecting some boars I discovered that the mana boars had different patterns all over their body which normal boars didn't have ,these patterns attracts mana from surrounding to for them to use. These creatures don't produce mana from their bodies .

Movement of these boars managed to draw attention of the villagers .Seeing someone near a mountain of corpses and dissecting corpses them some of them horrified .

The old looking chief separated from the group and asked my identity with a shaking voice . I informed them my identity from the hunters guild and my purpose making them sigh in relief .

"Please stay for the day ,we had notified the magic knights but got no response so we posted it to the hunters guild ,you are our benefactor have managed to reduce a lot of our losses ."

I did gathered them almost 2 months worth s of meat with those boars .I nodded and went with them as I was quite hungry and had other objectives too. Magic nights are mostly nobles so they wont bother with these work except The Black bulls or The praying mantis.

I went to the chief's house and took I bath and cleaning bloodstains from my cloths ,It didn't take much time due to my magic to dry them. Late that day I joined them for dinner .The villagers had a feast with the roasted boars with people cheering and dancing making me a little nostalgic . There was also a celebration in the Hage village after every harvest .

Many people wanted me to drink but I straight up refused and went to sleep in my provided room but didn't lower my vigilance . One of the things I have learned is that to never lower my vigilance in any condition even in my own bed .

Next morning I went to the chief's room . I observed the room and didn't found what I was looking for . I though I could find the magic stone but it was stupid of me to expect that it would be kept in the open . Every stone represented a key to the tree of sephira or tree of life and elves will desperately search for it latter on . Even if I got the stone there is no way that I would keep it with me , I am nowhere strong enough to face the elves .

The chief came back with a sad face and said that "Initially we had posted the reward of 5000 yuls but we only managed to gather around 4,000 yuls .we are sorry can you please accept this amount ".

I said that "I will take 3000,use the rest to fix the damages " The man looked surprised and asked again .I confirmed making him cheerful and thanking me again . I asked him if he was seen a peculiar stone but he seems to have no idea or forgot about it .

I thanked the villagers for their hospitality and flew towards the guild .

I submitted the mission confirmation note I received from the mayor and 10% of my earnings asper agreement . The receptionist was astounded by the number of kills and couldn't help but read out load earning different reaction which I ignored and exited the place in a slow pace.

I didn't have to wait long as at the end of the forest I was surrounded by 5 people who looked as if they founded a new prey
