Julian vs Yami

Black Bulls base:

"So these happened and we now have a mission to retrieve the magic stone from the underwater temple.

We have a few days before the actual mission so you all know what it means right ?" Yami said with a smirk.

"VACCATION IN THE BEACH !!!" everyone screamed with joy.

For someone like Asta who grew up far from the oceans, a beach trip was like a dream come true.

After some thought, Vanessa whispered something in the ears of Noelle and Secre making their faces red.

It was to impress Asta and Julian with their swimsuits.

A plan for swimsuit shopping was immediately formed while Yami was still explaining.

"The grand magic zone would rip you all to shreds if we are not careful.

Julian, we need your mana zone to reach there, my mana zone range isn't enough " Yami said making Noelle surprised.

"How dangerous of an area are we talking about ?" Noelle asked.

"Remember the dungeon you went to, where you almost suffocated? Imagine that chaotic mana multiplied by fifty. " Julian replied.

Only Asta and Noelle were shocked to hear that information as all of the Black Bulls knew the horror of the Grand Magic zone especially Final since he is there often with Yami.

"Julian knows his role, now Noelle….

I want you to create a water transport to help us reach the temple. " Yami said making everyone silent.

This once came as totally unexpected for some knowing Noelle's magic control.

Noelle became extremely agitated hearing that.

"This is my personal mission to you.

Refusal is not an option….

For the past few months, you have learned a lot; now it's time to use it.

Use this opportunity to surpass your limits. ".Yami said with emphasis on the last two sentences.

"Don't worry Noelle, we can do it together! " Asta said to Noelle somehow calming her down.

"Asta….."

"Just as captain Yami said, we need to use all that training to use.

Moreover, we just depend on Julian-ni all the time, we need to find ways to make ourselves stronger too" Asta continued.

"If you need a death battle to awaken your hidden power, I am always ready! " Luck said with an instant smile.

"Stop it, idiot, you are scaring her even more," Magna said smacking Luck on the head.

The discussion continued with some plans like making extra food for Yami's mana beast pets who live in the underground cellars.

Julian had asked Secre for a mana storage seal for Henry too so even if everyone was gone, Henry would have enough mana to survive for weeks without a problem.

Honestly Julian wanted Henry to meet everyone but Henry said that he was not ready yet so he dropped the matter.

As for all the valuables, Finral would transport them somewhere else so that if the base is attacked nothing would be lost.

The next day

Ridding on top of a unicorn made of vines, captain Charlotte flew towards the Black Bulls base to start her journey.

Her heart was pounding loudly thinking about spending personal time on the beach with Yami.

Charlotte's cheerful mood immediately became that of annoyance as two types of mana pressure washed over all.

With no surprise, Julian and Yami had made the entire area around the Black Bulls base their battlefield.

Julian could be seen using a mixture of Light and Dark Magic to fight against Yami who appeared to be using his full power against Julian.

Charlotte decided not to interfere and observe their battle as it is rare that Yami used his full power.

Yami has a dismissive attitude that makes him seem weak, but she is one of the people who know Yami's true power as she had done the most missions with him.

Yami's Dark Magic rivals the destructive natures like Fire of Fuegoleon while his Mana zone and battle instincts are only second to Mereoleona.

Although captains like Nozel dislike Yami, they never fought Yami seriously because they are aware of his powers.

Yami's biggest weakness was his lack of mana but now it seems Yami has found a way to counter that weakness.

The spells Yami used took a lot of mana but he could be seen using them multiple times without running out of mana.

Whether it was due to an artifact or an increase in the mana pool, Charlotte had no idea.

As for Julian, an anomaly is the only word Charlotte could describe him.

No matter from which angle she viewed it, his growth defied any logic.

At the age of seventeen, he had mana pressure equal to a captain and combat ability that even surpassed some of the captains.

Although it hurts her pride, Charlotte knew that she would lose if she ever fought against Julian.

Excluding the fact that Julian is blessed by the four-leaf clover Grimoire, the biggest anomaly with Julian was his ability to use multiple magic types which is totally unheard of.

Fire, Lightning, Light, Dark, and who knows what else.

Charlotte had seen people using two magic types due to some anomaly but never a person wielding so many elements.

Clang!

Julian's sword and Yami's swords clashed as a shockwave emerged from it.

Yami swiped his sword down as Julian's figure became a clone of light blocking his attack.

Julian's real body appeared a few meters away from Yami shooting swords of Light just like Licht at Yami.

A black hole formed around Yami as it completely absorbed all the Light swords.

With another slash from Dark Magic, Julian's light clone disappeared as Yami stepped on air, and air dashed towards Julian.

Pulling his sword back, Yami thrust it toward Julian shooting dark magic like a cannon.

Replicating Yami's Dark Magic, Julian used the same spell at Yami making the two spells clash.

Boom!

Wild shockwaves of mana erupted from the clash of the two Dark magic spells as Julian teleported behind Yami swinging his Dark Magic fire magic-clad blade only to be countered by Yami who reacted instantaneously.

In the current clash, Julian was only using Light and Dark magic to increase their mastery.

As he was a newbie at using Dark magic, he was coping every single move of Yami through Sharingan and replicated his movements.

Although he was using two types of magic, Yami still had an advantage over him due to his higher mastery over mana pressure and mana reinforcement, KI, and mana zone.

"I think this is enough for today, let's end it in our next spell, " Julian said creating distance.

Both of them created sufficient distance from the Black Bulls base so that the sparks of battle could not harm the base or the people.

The air started to vibrate around Yami's katana as he positioned it above his head.

Dense Dark magic enveloped his Katana as an image of a black wolf began to conjure behind him.

Julian realized the threat behind Yami's spell and didn't hold back.

[Forbidden magic: Ability boost: Mana control ]

Roots of the world tree started to grow onto Julian's sword as Light and Dark Magic started to revolve around it.

Three of the magic types slowly started to merge forming a grey flame that enveloped Julian's sword.

The energy fluctuation from the sword was so high that the skin of his fingers started to peel off.

To get a better view, Kirin created solid platforms of Lightning for everyone to stand on and watch the fight from above.

"This is my strongest move….Don't die, Julian" Yami's cigarette dropped from his mouth as his eyes became dark enveloped with Dark Magic.

With full force, Yami brought down his sword releasing a black slash that seemed to be cutting through space itself.

At the same time, Julian too slashed his sword releasing a slash of grey flames.

Both attacks collide as the area of their collision became devoid of any light.

Instead of creating a big explosion, the space itself began vibrating which transferred up to several kilometers all around.

The clouds in the sky broke into nothingness as the birds flying started to fall down completely losing control over their bodies.

Several trees broke down while cracks started to form on the ground.

Kirin sensed the danger and created a barrier around the base with Secre making it stronger as Yami's pets were there.

The glass windows on the Black Bulls base began to shatter as the walls began to develop cracks.

Everyone including Kirin felt a sense of danger that told them they would have disappeared out of existence if they came under the proximity of the clash.

Yami looked around and clicked his tongue since his strongest attack couldn't even touch Julian meanwhile Julian was happy that he managed to use a spell that used Dark magic, World tree magic, and Light magic in the perfect ratio.

The memory of Yami's Dimensional slash from the Anime still sends chills down his spine and having the power to cancel out that spell made him feel a huge sense of accomplishment.

All the Black Bulls surrounded Julian and Yami after they came back from the fight.

People like Asta, Luck, and Magna enjoyed the battle very much while Noelle had her mouth open wide with shock once again as she could not follow any of their movements and only felt the clash of mana.

Kirin and Secre didn't give any new reaction as they are used to seeing Julian getting wild pretty much every day.

"Oh? Prickly queen, you came…." Yami said lighting up a cigarette.

"I have a habit of coming on time unlike a certain someone " Charlotte replied.

"Heeeee! Don't tell me you were so excited about the beach vacation that you could not wait anymore " Yami commented making Charlotte lash out in embarrassment.

Asta looked at Charlotte and then at Noelle but decided not to say anything.

'They truly are similar ' Asta thought.

Julian looked at the four of them and had a similar thought.

'Two tsundere and two men who purposefully ignore their feelings due to different reasons'.

Now that it was finally time for the trip, Final could not wait to see the girls in bikinis, especially Charlotte but got his foot stomped by Gauche.
