Heaven-Destroying Star

"Papa, look, it's a shooting star," said a little boy, looking in amazement while in the hands of his father.

"It's not just any star… It's the heaven-destroying star, " said the father in amusement.

He is a tall, broad-shouldered man with deep brown eyes and hair as dark as forest shadows.

" Heaven-destroying star? "

"Yes child, it is said that star falls an unparalleled genius will be born"

" A genius?"

"Am I a genius, Papa?" said the boy with a puzzled look on his face.

His father pulls the little boy's cheek with an amused smile, which chuckling he replies, "We'll only know we you start cultivating."

The boy grumbles and shakes his father's hand off, then begins to rub his cheek.

" I'll become the greatest you've ever seen." the boy said in a cute and excited tone.

His father began to speak but before he could get a word out a young man dressed in black armor interpreted and said " Pardon me Elder Thorne but there's at meeting in the main hall that needs you"

Elder Thorne sets the boy down "I'll be right back" before leaving in the front of their mansion.

The meeting was about the heaven destroying star, the sect leader's son was born as it fell Little did they know another boy was born on that day too.

14 years later…

The sunlight sets on a boy with messy brown hair.

He woke up revealing his bright blue eyes. He gets up out of bed, making his way to his closet.

He looked up at the room he managed to acquire a week ago. It was dark and old-fashioned in below average condition.

It was the room given to those who passed the test to be outer disciples of the Abyssal Demon Sect.

The test consisted of a series of exercises to push all contents to their physical limit and then pair them up against each other to fight.

Only 300 could enter those who lost their fight, failed the test. He failed his fight, but while many left when they lost, he stayed watching all the other fights go down.

There was one fight in particular that caught the eye of one of the elders. It was a fight consisting of a boy. He had a tall and athletic build, with dark brown skin. short, tightly coiled black.

His natural strength and athleticism allowed him to unleash an entra of punches without getting hit himself, causing his opponent to crawl away in fear.

His piercing gray eyes held an intense gaze as the Elder walked to him.

"I was very impressed with your battle. You're obviously very talented, so how about you become an inner disciple?"

Obviously, the boy agreed excitedly, leaving only 299 people to become outer disciples. Since they're 300 spots and everybody else left when they lost, he got lucky and made the cut.

While reminiscing about how he got the room, he says, "I barely made it in thanks to luck I need to harder so that have to rely on things like that anymore."

He grabs his black robe, simple, practical clothing befitting an outer disciple. His determined expression and intense brown eyes reflect his unwavering spirit.

He goes out into the training field for outer disciples in the bone forging realm, which no one really uses. They're all inside cultivating since they broke through the bone forging realm 3 days ago, all except for him.

"Hey, Ben!" a voice called out, and Benjamin turned to see Corey running towards him.

"Hey, Corey," Ben replied, reaching for a wooden sword.

Corey, the son of Elder Thorne, one of the esteemed elders of the sect, often trained with Benjamin despite having broken through to a higher level earlier.

With his short, curly black hair framing his face and a strong, athletic build, and deep brown skin. His kind and loyal nature shone through his dark brown eyes. He always dressed in stylish and well-fitted robes, a testament to his status as the son of one of the nine elders.

"What's got you so excited?" Ben asked, curious about Corey's enthusiasm.

"We're going to the Abyssal Archives tomorrow," Corey exclaimed.

The Abyssal Archives was a vast library that housed the sect's secret manuals and cultivation techniques. Divided into sections dedicated to specific categories of cultivation, it was maintained by the elders and accessible only to the sect's disciples. Located at the heart of the sect, it held great significance.

"We'll finally get to choose our own martial art," Corey continued, unable to contain his excitement.

"That's great," Benjamin replied, his tone low as he focused on practicing his sword swings.

While Corey continued talking, Benjamin trained diligently, occasionally making noises to indicate that he was listening.

Soon, the rest of the outer disciples emerged from their quarters and headed towards the sect entrance.

"What's happening?" Corey asked one of the disciples.

"The elders and their disciples are returning," came the reply.

Corey turned to Benjamin, his excitement evident. "What are you waiting for? Let's go!"

Grabbing Benjamin's arm, Corey dragged him towards the rest of the disciples.

Moments later, in front of the sect entrance, the elders began to arrive on their horses.

As everyone welcomed the elders, it was clear that they were not the main attraction.

Elder Torrent, a slender woman with flowing blue hair and eyes as deep as the ocean, entered alongside her core disciple, Jackie, the epitome of beauty within the sect.

Jackie possessed long, silky black hair that cascaded in waves around her shoulders. Her captivating almond-shaped eyes were a mesmerizing shade of emerald green. With a graceful figure and flawless complexion, she exuded elegance. Her fashionable robes accentuated her allure.

The sight of Jackie caused many male disciples to drool, while the girls looked on with disdain.

"She's gorgeous, isn't she?"

"Not really," Benjamin replied to Corey, looking completely uninterested.

"I don't have time for women, I have to train and grow strong enough to earn my spot in the sect." Ben thought.

All of a sudden, Ben was pushed from behind flat on his face.

"Not beautiful!" Yelled the person who pushed Ben.

" Oh great a fanboy" Ben thought as he got up to see who pushed him.

He looked to see a familiar face. It was the Boy who got invited to be an inner disciple at the exam.

"Look it seems like an outer disciple made Lennox mad"

"Some need to learn their place"

The chatter of the outer disciples went on and on until Lennox spoke " if you are bold enough to call the goddess ugly then she be bold enough to fight me"

"That's not even what he said," exclaimed Corey.

"Stay out of this" said Ben who was already in a fighting stance.

He never let go of the sword he grabbed ever since this morning

"Good you've got balls… now taste my punch"

Lennox dashes forward, throwing his fist towards Ben's face.

Ben leans to the right to dodge the punch. He swings has blade vertically target Lennox's liver

Just when they were inches away from each Lennox disappears and reappears behind Ben punching him in the back of the head.

"Impressive display of courage... now taste the wrath of my fist," Lennox sneered.

In a swift motion, Lennox lunged forward, aiming a powerful punch at Ben's face.

Reacting with lightning speed, Ben leaned to the right, narrowly evading the blow. Seizing the opportunity, he swung his blade in a vertical arc, targeting Lennox's vulnerable liver.

But just as their attacks were about to hit, Lennox vanished into thin air, only to reappear behind Ben and deliver a devastating blow to the back of his head.

" It's the Void Blink technique"

"Void Blink" technique. This movement skill allows him to perform short-range teleportation by stepping into a void space. It serves as an introduction to later cultivation in void manipulation and spatial techniques

The fight intensified as Lennox continued to vanish and reappear, launching a relentless assault on Ben.

However, Ben remained focused, analyzing Lennox's movements, waiting for the perfect moment to strike.

"Hahaha! I can't believe a worthless trash like you had the audacity to challenge me," Lennox taunted, his voice dripping with arrogance.

"You asked me to, asshole," Ben retorted, his determination burning in his eyes.

Lennox lunged forward, fully intending to land a devastating punch on Ben's face.

"There!" Ben thought, allowing himself to be struck.

In a split second, he spun with the force of the punch, swiftly stepping to Lennox's side. With a fluid motion, he swung his sword towards Lennox's exposed neck, ready to deliver a decisive blow.

Lennox's body convulsed violently as he struggled to catch his breath.

"You despicable scoundrel," he spat out, his anger palpable.

But before he could retaliate, a young man with sleek black hair and piercing blue eyes intervened, positioning himself between the two combatants.

"It's Evan, the most gifted outer disciple."

"He has already reached the Qi Condensation Realm," the onlookers whispered in awe.

"Calm yourself, brother. What harm could a mere ant like him do?" Evan's calm voice cut through the tense atmosphere, unaware of Ben's sinister intentions.

"I'll let this slide for now, as our Junior brother wishes," Lennox hissed through gritted teeth.

"You're lucky, Ben," Corey said, rushing over to find Benjamin.

"Ben?"

Benjamin had already retreated to his room, replaying the intense battle in his mind.

Frustration coursed through his veins, and in a burst of anger, he kicked the wall, revealing a hidden compartment.

Inside, he discovered a book that would forever alter his perspective.

"Necrotic Dominion Art"
