*~Creeeeek...~*

The door slowly opened, revealing a man a girl walking into the shack

"So this is the person you found near the forest?" The man said to the girl that came with him

"That's right!" the girl replied, than she looked over to me "You're okay now, right? how are you feeling? what happened to you? how did you end up unconsciousness near the forest like that?" she began hitting me with questions one right after the other with a worried expression

 "Valorie. stop asking them questions so rapidly, they just recovered you shouldn't overwhelm them." The man scolded the girl in a heavy tone 

The girl's face then paled "Ah! sorry..." she replied to him meekly and quieted down, left to only keep glancing at my face and avoid my gaze when I look at her

"Ahem ahem, so kid, tell me how did you end up here? going by your face and clothes you look like you have noble blood in you, did you get exiled from your family?" The man talks to me in the same heavy tone he had with the girl

"Dad! stop! you shouldn't be so rude to this person, especially if they are noble..!" The girl, daughter to the man said to him in avid panic, to that I just smiled and said in a quiet voice "please, don't mind it, it's probably as you think... but I would rather not get into the details, please..." I end the sentence with a bitter smile and then look back at them

The man then started thinking "Hmm... than, what should we do with you? I could talk to the others about you, then we would decide if you could stay here somewhere or you would have to leave." Oh? is he so open to just let a stranger enter this small community? it must be because I look like an innocent kid, so he doesn't seem to suspect anything about me, I should also give a small push

"Please, sir. I need a place to stay... I don't much about outside, since my parents never taught me, and I don't think I would be able to live normally right now... please, just until I can take care of myself at least..." I speak, as if making a dramatic performance my voice stutters and breaks while i wipe tears from my eyes

The man avoids my gaze and wipes of his forehead from sweat "Urm... I said I would have to talk about this with the others, someone will probably take you in so you don't need to worry so much..." The man says awkwardly, it seems like even though he has a tough exterior he is quite susceptible to kids, huh?

I look over from the man to the girl, the girl is looking at the floor but her expression is as if she had just made a conviction "Dad..!" the girl speaks up with surprising momentum, catching her father off guard "I have an idea..!"

The father seems to have come to a realization from the look of his face "Valorie. don't even think about it" but what he says has no effect on the girl "I think he can-"

"MMMM!" the girl attempts to speak but her fathers hand blocks her mouth, "excuse me" he turns back to me and says "I'm gonna have a small talk with my daughter." he than starts dragging the girl with him outside

"Mmmmm-! mmm-!"

*~Creak~*

*TUMP!*

I watch their backs as they leave "hah, so I have to wait again, tch"

I lay back down on the bed and close my eyes

It seems like I didn't have to wait for long.

"-and this is our house, what do you think about it?" I look at the girl speaking to me enthusiastically, her name is Valorie, while her father's name is Peter

"It's a beautiful house, really." I replied to her with a smile

*Cough* *cough* "Mhm..! obviously it is!" she avoids my gaze while blushing but still seem to enjoy the the paise

I look over from Valorie to her father "So, um... sir Peter, is this going to be where I stay?" I speak to him while making a slightly scared face "...yes. haah, you will be staying here with us..." he answers me while sighing deeply with a crumpled up face, it seems like Valorie asked for me to live with them, but Peter vehemently opposed it, but Valorie happened to act much more stubborn than usual apparently and managed to persuade him

"Mhmm~mhm~mhm" Valorie was humming in happiness while showing me around the house, and then she stopped as a new figure appeared

"Ah! mom, I'm back!" she then ran towards the woman for a hug

"Oh? back already? I thought you would be hiding for longer" the woman spoke to Valorie while hugging each other

"Ah... mom! what do you think I am? did you think I would be late?" Valorie pouted as she looked up to her mother

"Hohoho, sorry, you're right, you would never be late when food is in question" Valorie's mother retorted to her in a mischievous voice while narrowing her eyes

"Mommm!" Valorie seperated from their hug so she could show her annoyed face to her mother

"And, who is your new friend here, I have never seen him in our village" Valorie's mother finally notices me and then looks over back to Valorie

"Right! mom, this is my new friend and he will be living with us because he doesn't have anywhere else to go!" completely forgetting her previous agitation, Valorie passionately explains to her mother the situation

"Oh and your father agreed?" she looks at Peter with wide eyes

 *sigh* That's right, yeah he will be staying with us, and now I'm going to bed, don't bother me today anymore" Peter says in his heavy voice and walks into one of the rooms

"So" Valorie's mother moves on and looks back at her daughter and says "What is your friends name?"

"Well, his name is-, eh..." Valorie replies curtly but then stops in confusion and walks next to me and asks me in a whisper "what's your name..?" with a worried look on her face, glancing back at her mother

I smile in response and look at her mother "Hello ma'am, my name is Fable, it's nice to meet you." 

Her mother smiles faintly back "mhm, It's good that my daughter's new friend is so polite, nice to meet you Fable, my name is Alison." 

"Ah, hey! don't just talk between yourselves talk to me too!" Valorie suddenly shouts and stands between me and her mother

"Oh? are you perhaps jealous of your own mother? little Valorie" Alison says in a mischievous tone again

"MOM!" and once again Valorie pouts at her mother, but she ignores her and speaks to me instead

"So, why don't you join our table for dinner? I just happened to have one extra serving ready since one person failed to show up."

"I would be happy to join you ma'am." I answer with a smile
