Dinner and Bed

*Gulp*

The sounds of eating were echoing in the room, I looked around as I took small bites of the meat, seeing Valorie eating large portions at once from the bone while Alison eats using a wooden skewer

"So how are you liking the meal, Fable?" Alison asks me, taking a break from eating

"Mhm, the meat is very tasty." I answer in between bites, after all I am currently just a young boy that hasn't eaten for a long time just after recovering from sickness, and Alison doesn't seem to mind

"That's good, I'm happy to have a guest, I was very surprised that Peter agreed to let you stay, you know? he is very stubborn on things like that, he hasn't even let Gabel stay here for anything other than a meal, I wonder who managed to change his mind?" she says and looks at Valorie with narrowed eyes

But Valorie seems to not have heard her, since she keeps eating while constantly glancing at me and looking back at her food whenever we make eye contact

"Valorie, so tell us, how did you convince your father to let your friend her stay?"

Valorie seems to have finally notice her mother's words and got startled 

"Ah? um, how I did what, that's, I, uh, I-I" she continues to stutter in panic while moving her gaze from place to place, while Alison just looks at her daughter in silence, and eventually she cuts her off 

"Well, don't worry it's not very important, there is a bigger issue to discuss, why don't we talk about where will your friend be sleeping, since we don't have an extra bed or room fitting for it, it seems that he needs to sleep with someone else with an already ready bedroom, what do you think, Valorie?" Alison gives Valorie an olive brunch to help her from her panic, but it seems like it wasn't actually an olive brunch but just a burning piece of wood since what she said caused Valorie's face to completely turn red and pause all movements

"..."

"Hm? do you have no idea? than maybe I should let him sleep with me and Peter? our bed is pretty large he will probably be able to sleep comfortably with us-"

*-SLAM-*

"NO! HE CAN- HE WILL SLEEP WITH ME!"

Valorie shouts, more loudly than usual too, so it's much worse since she already is a very loud person it seems like she is very agitated right now

"Is that so? well it's quite late by now and you should be sleeping, so if you want to sleep with your friend you will need to get ready right now." Alison says to her daughter in a serious tone

"I WILL!" and she replies strongly, leaving the half eaten chunk of meat she walks aggressively with loud steps to me, but her momentum seems to stop when she finally stands right in front of me

"So, uh, Fable can yo- can..." with her hand outstretched to me, her words get quieter and quieter until she seems to be whispering

"please come with me..." with her face beet red she looks at the ground at my side, too shy to keep eye contact, too all of that I just smile and hold her hand

"Yes, please guide me to where I will be sleeping tonight." I speak smoothly and politely this time while standing up from my seat

"MHM!" her eyes widen and tightens her hold of my hand "Ye- yes! after m-me!" she stutters and starts to walk quickly to her room, I look back at the table to Alison and speak

"Thank you for the hospitality, ma'am." 

Alison looks at me with a small smile and waves to me lightly "You're welcome, please keep my daughter company tonight."

Mhm, things like that would usually be misunderstood. it seems like she really likes me, huh?

Both me and Valorie stand in silence in front of the bed, the bed is not very big, but it can fit both of us since we are quite small compared to adults

*Cough-cough*

Valorie cough's while glancing at me from the side, it seems like she is embarrassed thinking about us sleeping tougher and probably feels awkward for having grabbed all the way here by hand, in the end I decide to end the silence

"So, should we lay in bed? ma'am said we should be sleeping by now, right?" I say to Valorie

"Y-y-yes, w-we sho- should!, haha, haha" startled, she replies mechanically and starts moving rigidly to the bed, grabbing the covering and slipping into the deeper side, she makes some space to me, laying facing the ceiling she continues to glance at me without moving and inch

mhm, I thought about advising to sleep opposite of each other, each head at each other side of the bed, but it seems like it's too late, well what's the problem of sleeping next to each other anyway?

as I make my way to the bed Valorie flinches and closes her eyes tightly, laying on the pillow I close my eyes and relax

"Goodnight, Valorie"

"...mhm, goodnight" after hearing the whisper like voice, I make my body increase melatonin levels in my body and quickly fall asleep

(Valorie's POV)

*rustle-rustle*

*ba-dum, ba-dum*

Hearing the sound of Fable moving inside the blanket, my heartbeat gets stronger again

Ugh, I can't seem to fall asleep, whenever I start to relax, I hear him and get reminded of him being near me and my body just heats up and refuses to sleep, so I'm just left here in my thoughts

...

I don't really know what I thought when I first met Fable, I was going to hide from Gabel like when we usually play, but when I got near the forest I saw a beautiful figure lying on the grass, heaving with a red face, I know that I'm a pretty good person... I'm not just bragging about myself! i constantly help in the village whenever I can, but... I wouldn't be so worried, especially about a stranger... so why..?

Thinking about reasons, the only thing I can think about is because he looks so goo... argh! seriously! stop thinking about that.

Haah...

After calling Gabel, and him failing to carry Fable alone, I went to help him and while carrying him...

When I was touching his skin it, it felt... eh? how should I describe it? just... good.

*Sigh*

I let out a hot breath after thinking about it... mhm? isn't he right next to me? if I feel it again I could probably understand that feeling better, and knowing that would help me relax... right! that's it! but, what if Fable wakes up while I touch him?

"...Fable..."

"...are you awake..."

"Fable..."

I whisper softly, nudging his shoulder, he seems to be sleeping pretty deeply, right?

Totally! for sure! than, it should be fine...
