Chapter Sixteen

The tall man pulled his hoodie, and, behold the handsome face capable of stirring a million and one hearts.

"Who wears a hoodie on his birthday?!", The first question Adriana asked herself as her palms started to turn clammy.

One mistake she shouldn't have made was to mistake him for a lowlife.

He turned around, an angry scowl on his face as he said to Miranda in his deep, dreamy voice.

"Get her out M, I'll be back in five!".

Austin said, his eyes dropping to the small stain that had ruined his hoodie as he bumped into Adriana.

"What does he mean 'get her out', I have an invitation!?", Adriana asked in panic as Miranda was dragging her towards the gate she came in through.

"Do you know how many people I talked to just to get this invitation Miranda, how can he blatantly say that?!", Adriana pressed, obviously pissed.

Miranda came to a pause and faced Adriana.

"I specifically told you not to cause any trouble tonight, I clearly said not to go near him!", Miranda said, wondering why she even gave her the invitation in the first place.

Adriana gasped, ''he bumped into me! Look at my dress!", She said pointing towards the expensive looking dress which was badly ruined.

"It doesn't matter Adriana, my advice to you is to lay low, don't go around looking for him if you don't want trouble. Goodnight!", Miranda said in finality, handing her over to the guards who clearly understood the assignment before walking back into the house.

Adriana threw a tantrum, however she was no match for the guards who looked at least thrice her size.

Eventually, she entered her car and ordered her chauffer to go back home.

The chauffeur wasn't surprised, he had had his fair share of seeing his boss being treated like that, she was very rude.

Adriana was particularly angry after what had happened at the party, however she was no fool. She would regret ever offending the wrong people.

In order to blow off some steam, she decided to call Collin, whose number she had earlier put in the black list.

"Are you in??", Adriana asked as soon as Collin picked the call.

Collin who was surprised that Adriana suddenly called him after not being able to reach her quickly replied, even if he couldn't avoid the stutter.

"Y-yes I I'm cu currently in. Are you coming?!", Collin asked, eager to see his beautiful girlfriend again.

That night, like most nights they'd had, they made out. Without properly discussing some major things. After all, the relationship was just for convenience, at least for Adriana.

Collin on the other hand was the one who was head over heels for something that didn't even exist to start with.
