Chapter Seventeen

Trisha's statement brought a smile on Elle's lips, it doesn't hurt to try after all.

"Well, how about the west bar, let's get some drinks there!", Elle suggested.

"I think mom needs a drink or two, Dave just came in and she looked sad when she walked into her room!", Trisha Said.

"A few drinks wouldn't hurt right?!", Elle asked. "It definitely wouldn't, how about I call you back after I get her reply!"

"Alright then!", Elle said before cutting the call.

Trisha headed to her mother's room to see if her mother was willing to tag along with the girls.

"Mom!", Trisha called out as she entered her mother's room, which was unusually dark.

"Mom!", She called out again, this time leaving the door and walking deeper into the room.

Trisha squinted her eyes as she approached the bed. Upon closer inspection, she noticed that her mother wasn't on the bed.

Crazy thoughts started to form, as she didn't know the outcome of the meeting with Dave.

"Oh no, what if…!!", Trisha muttered as she headed towards the door. Before she could turn the knob however, she heard the sound of her mother's bathroom door, only then could she finally sigh in relief.

"I'm here baby!", Paula said as Trisha turned and walked towards her.

"You know, me and this man spent years together, yet he wants a divorce!", Paula said as she dragged Trisha to sit on the bed.

"What, divorce?!", Trisha shrieked.

"Oh my God, that is so unfair. Did he even apologize?!", Trisha asked.

"I agreed to the divorce anyway! He wouldn't even apologize if you ask!", Paula said, causing the room to suddenly turn silent.

"Me and Elle are going out for drinks tonight mom, wanna come along?!", Trisha asked her mother.

"You know…!" Paula drawled

"I need far more than one drink tonight!", She said, taking Trisha by surprise.

Facing the wide eyed Trisha, Paula suddenly asked, "promise to bring me home safely!"

Trisha managed to force a nod.

"Alright then, go get dressed so we can leave on time!", Paula said, further taking Trisha by surprise.

It was a date!!

Trisha didn't need to be told twice before she went to change.

Apparently, the slight distraction was enough to get Trisha's adrenaline pumping.

In trendy terms, her makeup was giving, her dress was IT, and most importantly she was ready to get drinks.

Trisha walked out of her room, pushing her hair back when she sighted her mom. It was no surprise where she got her looks from, because as at the moment, to say Paula was dashing would be an understatement.

Paula was dressed in a short, slitted off the shoulder gown. The dress was champagne gold and it accentuated her radiant beauty.

Trisha couldn't believe the fact that her mother was just sulking a few moments ago, 'Dave is such a blind bastard!, Trisha thought as she walked towards her mother.

"You ready mom?!'', Trisha asked the most obvious question.

"Don't I look ready baby, or is it my makeup, I kinda knew it was too much!", Paula said in an attempt to turn and tone down the makeup.

After a slight chuckle, Trisha said, "It's fine mom, it really is…!", She paused as a thought popped in her mind.

"What!", Paula asked, confused with Trisha's sudden pause.

"Uhnuhn!! Mom! Don't tell me you're going to the club for a potential boyfriend?? That fast?!", Trisha asked, shock written all over her face.

"Well…", Paula drawled as her cheeks tinted to an even pinker shade.

"Saved by the bell!!", Paula suddenly said when she heard Trisha's phone ringing, Elle was calling. She sighed, thankful that she didn't have to admit Trisha's notion.

Elle called to inquire if they were ready. Like the sight it was, Paula and Trisha couldn't help but compliment the tomboy police officer turned Cinderella.

Elle looked splendid and ready to party.

They soon got to the club, getting in without hassle as they were regulars, ( not that sort of regulars!)

The ladies went to the table Elle had earlier reserved for them, however Trisha and Elle stood up later to get drinks for their table.

While ordering a familiar voice called out Trisha's name, "Hey Callister what are you doing here?", Trisha turned back to see who was so brazen to call her with her last name.

She turned back to see Matthew, one of Collin's friends. Trisha was in no mood to ruin the girls night out, so she ignored him.

The action however didn't sit well with Matthew as he asked, his real reason for approaching the ladies. "What, still angry Collin dumped you. Even if you don't gimme it, I'll still tolerate you!".

A wide eyed Elle looked at a starstruck Trisha, two words forming in her head, "oh God!"
