Tunnel Time Travel?

After they'd woken up together they began to discuss what could have possibly happened in that tunnel. The pair were confused. The sun was indeed in an early stage of the day cycle. What could possibly cause that? "Do you think it's possible we time-traveled backward? The map shows a cave, not a tunnel, so why did we come out of a different place when there should've only been one? I don't know what's going on but we need to get to the bottom of this. But we won't be back for a while if we really really want to get to the bottom of this. I'm thinking days away, maybe even weeks." Kokoro said to Yuzu. "I think we should pack essentials and food. We need to make sure we can survive for that amount of time" Yuzu added. Kokoro agreed and they prepared and went on their way.

Since they already knew where the tunnel was they arrived a bit faster than the first time. They went into the cave only this time they examined the walls further before going to the end. The pair wanted to find clues as to what was going on. They had questions, and they were determined to get their answers. There were tons of art and cave drawings but nothing that quite explained the tunnel. They went through the tunnel and once again the sun was earlier in the day cycle. But this time they found a path that had been hidden. They followed the path for some time and eventually were out of the forest. They stood in a clearing and in the distance they could see something bright. They believed that they had found what they were looking for, but to be certain they pulled out the map they had found. The map was now accurate with what they were seeing. They followed the map in the direction of the bright reflection and to their amazement, they found a temple of gold.

They climbed the temple to the top and found a door. They remembered the key and pulled it out but it did not fit. However, from the top of the temple, they could see more temples very close by. They realized that the temples made a circle around the central temple. The center temple was the largest of all of them. At the top of that temple was a door as well. When they arrived at that door they noticed it was locked as well, but this time the key worked. The door opened and they went in, but not before blocking the door so it wouldn't somehow trap them inside. They continued down the path inside the temple and realized that all of the temples were connected by an underground passageway, but also had private chambers that could only be opened with the key of that specific temple. At the base of the center temple, underground, was a large plaza with multiple thrones around a table and at the end was a throne larger than the others. "This must be where the leaders of this place made the big decisions. And that throne back there, that one looks like it may have been where Chrysus sat." Kokoro stated. "Wait, something isn't right. If this is abandoned why isn't there any dust anywhere? The lawns have been maintained and everything looks fresh. But we've yet to see a single person. I think the city is off-site, possibly close by," Yuzu explained. "We need to go back to the top of this temple and see if we can see a village," said Kokoro and they headed back up. When they arrived at the top of the temple once more they looked around, and in the distance, they saw the city. It was unlike anything they had ever seen.
