Chapter86: Grief

"-what's the plan now?" Howin asked.

"-get home…safe." She answered with a clear hint of sadness in her voice.

It was sunrise when they left and they arrived at lunch time. No one dared to talk to Ellie, herself didn't felt like it either.

She closed the door, falling on her knees, a sob rose in her throat, her ears prickling with tears. Not long before a hot drop crossed her cheek with her head on the door.

A drop turned to a waterfall of tears. She couldn't bottle it up anymore. She yelled and screamed hitting the door but she couldn't feel any better after killing her family.

Her eyes landed on the corner of the room: her father's bow, Howin stopped her from breaking.

She crawled and held it between her arms firmly.

She was found of archery since she was young, probably since it was a talent running down the family.

Her grip loosened when she remembered she promised her sister to teach her once she finish her mission and leave a better life together. Her mother telling her she is proud of her every time she visit or send letters. But she then remembered her face disappointed and the pleading look in her little sibling eyes and their lifeless bodies burning in fire. She smiled between her cries.

"-I will find you and show you how to really play this game!" she stood up wiping her tears and left to the town wearing a cape to hide from suspicious eyes.

Ray went to Andrew to ask him why the gems didn't work and Howin went to check the new mess the prince created. After his lesson on how to act romantic and bringing the suit before the party started.

"-I see someone decided to show up finally!" Ray said eyeing him up and down.

"-what's wrong with you exactly? I had important things to do.

-fixing your prince problems.

-he is yours too is you forget.

-talk about yourself.

-say it to his face then coward." They stopped to look at Ellie who brought a map she spilt some water on to dry.

"-what is she doing?

-she bought some books and maps with some info in the black market to find the culprit trace.

-but it's too late.

-she had been in her room since we get back, on her tenth cup of coffee, no food no sleep; just working no stop to find him.

-and you didn't move your dumb ass and stop her!

-well I know her more than you and there is no way she will stop until she fid him and kill him and we don't want to discuss this part.

-fuck off moron." Howin pushed him and went to check on her.

"-hey.

-hey." She answered not bothering looking at him.

"-I am going to have a walk nearby want to join?

-no thanks I'm busy.

-you need some rest.

-only when I bury him alive probably I will feel at ease.

-told you." Ray whispered at him but the black haired boy rolled his eyes and snatched the cup of coffee from her.

"-what do you want Howin I don't have time for games?

-you want to catch him but revenge driving you is the worst thing you can do.

-and what do you suggest?" she asked fed up.

"-follow me.

-I'm not and leave me alone.

-I didn't ask and let's go…" he stopped once he felt a blade on his neck.

"-and I didn't pleaded I ordered." Ray was laughing his ass off at the incubus reaction.

She moved swiftly her hand and went back to work.

He took a deep breath and pulled her cape on her head threw her on his shoulder while she was screaming threatening to kill him.

He put her down and she removed the cape, she found an axe next to her and she threw it at his head but he bent quickly to hit the tree.

"-nice…

-you have five seconds to explain or you won't be lucky as three seconds ago.

-let's throw axes.

-what?

-like that!" he throw one cutting three brunches in a row.

"-your turn." He smiled giving her one but someone decided to join throwing his axe cutting five brunches.

"-no one invited you as I remember.

-I don't need your permission as I remember." They heard half of the tree falling.

"-bring me an axe and stop barking or I will tie you to that tree." They both nodded and brought fifteen axes and a trunk with marks to throw at it.

It was pretty relaxing for her that she managed to clear her thoughts and think clearly.

It was Howin's turn but he stopped and excused himself.

"-afraid to lose!" Ray yelled but he ignored him and said he need to go to the bathroom.

Ray throw his last axe and told her he had to go see Andrew and will come back tomorrow morning.

He hugged her and made her promised to not exhaust herself and have rest.

She nodded forced though, she did few rounds then slept like dead.

Howin went to the prince and almost throw at him the axe because of Kieran testing his anger.

After his best friend's confession he checked on Ellie and covered her. He decided to go through her sheets and something was wrong but he didn't know what it is.

He looked up and saw a dark shadow leaving, he followed him and caught someone was at the corner.

They yelled and looked at each other.

"-you!

-you!" Howin got of Ray who dusted his clothes.

"-what was that for?

-why are you dressing like a thief?

-I went to the forest sneaking from the guards of course I have to hide!

-I thought you were that guy.

-which guy?

-before you came he trapped us and took the girls in Achyls.

-did you saw his face.

-no one did even Ellie who tried to stop him.

-that doesn't explain why you attacked me.

-you have the same height shorty and annoying too.

-you bustard." They quarreled like young kids but they stopped when a knife passed between their eyes to hit the wooden wall behind them.

They looked up and saw pair of eyes willing to kill them at any second.

"-you disturb it my work and forced me to throw axes making me promise to FUCKING SLEEP! And now…fighting and shouting under my window while I'm trying to sleep. That's the straw that broke the camel back.

-sorry." They said in union still holding each other clothes.

"-go to sleep we have a lot of things to do and you better wake up or it will be an eternal sleep." They gulped their salvia and run, literally to their rooms.
