The Journey Begins

The day had arrived when I was to leave for the facility, and my mother's unease was evident. She had been moping for the past couple of days, not entirely happy with my decision. However, my father assured her that this was the best path for me, and she reluctantly agreed.

"It's for the best, Mom," I said, trying to ease her worries. "I'll be fine, and I'll make you proud."

She smiled weakly, still not entirely convinced, but knowing she couldn't change my mind.

As my tutors had already left and preparations were underway, I savored the last few days of freedom, indulging in all my favorite foods and activities. My dad also took some time off work to spend with me, and we enjoyed each other's company, talking about everything and nothing.

The day before my departure, both sets of grandparents visited me at the mansion. They didn't like the idea, but they understood that it was my decision to make. Saying goodbye to them was tough, knowing it would be years before I saw them again.

Throughout these past days, my training had not stopped. I pushed myself hard, feeling my body slowly adapt to the strain. Alfred's support was invaluable, regulating my body conditions and guiding me to perform at my best.

Finally, the day of departure arrived. I was ready to board the helicopter, but my mother held on to me tightly, not wanting to let go. My father had to intervene and gently pry her away, allowing me to get on the helicopter.

"Take care, my dear," my mother said, tears streaming down her face. "I'll miss you every day."

"I'll miss you too, Mom," I replied, hugging her tightly.

My father gave me a warm hug, wishing me all the best. As I asked about the facility, he mentioned that it was located 500 miles away from our mansion, hidden in a dense forest.

"The facility has no name," my father said, "but I'm giving you the chance to name it."

Without hesitation, I blurted out, "ARKHAM."

My father smiled at my choice, and I gave them both one last hug before turning to face Reggie, my loyal companion.

"Are you ready for this, buddy?" I asked, trying to hide my nervousness.

"Absolutely, Master Duke!" Reggie replied, sharing my excitement.

As the helicopter took off, I looked back at my parents one more time through teary eyes. Once they were out of sight, I turned to face the adventure ahead, wiping away my tears. With a big smile, I knew this was the beginning of my journey.

"This is where I start my journey!" I whispered to myself, feeling a mix of nervousness and determination.

As the helicopter soared towards the unknown, I knew that the road ahead would be arduous, but with Alfred's guidance, Reggie by my side, and my unwavering dedication, I was ready to embrace the challenges and become the hero this world needed. The next few years would test my limits, but I was prepared to make sacrifices for the greater good. The adventure of a lifetime awaited, and I was ready to carve my path as the Dark Knight - Duke Walton, the defender of justice and hope.
