Rise of the Caped Crusader

The morning sun illuminated the city, and I had completed all the necessary preparations for Blue Corp's venture into the entertainment industry. As I entered the office space, Valerie greeted me with a warm smile. I appreciated her attention to detail and professionalism.

"Good Morning, Valerie!"

"Good Morning, Duke. I am surprised you don't have any security with you," she remarked.

"I prefer not to draw attention to myself. Besides, people don't pay much attention to the third son with Grade F powers," I replied with a light chuckle.

We entered the office space, and Valerie showed me to my office, which I found to be just the way I liked it - minimalistic. As we settled down, I turned the conversation towards the company's entry into the entertainment industry.

"It's not a booming industry, sir, and not many companies have found success in it," Valerie pointed out.

"That's precisely why I want to enter it. I believe in our content, and with less competition, we have a better chance to make a mark," I explained.

Valerie raised an eyebrow, "So, you're planning to rule the entertainment industry, sir?"

"I suppose you could say that. This is phase one of building my empire," I replied confidently.

Despite her skepticism, I could sense a glimmer of excitement in Valerie as we discussed our plans. She mentioned how comics were considered ancient history, and I could feel her sarcasm in questioning my choice.

"We will dive into comics first. I have already found a comic artist who will be sending the first issue soon," I informed her.

Valerie seemed a bit taken aback and commented, "Comic artists are a lost breed, sir."

"No need to worry, Valerie. The artist is already on board," I assured her.

She then gave me a quick review of our financials, which I was already familiar with. While she explained, I spoke with Alfred to confirm the first issue's readiness.

"Alfred, is the first issue ready, with all the necessary changes?"

"Yes, Master Duke. I have created the best version by methodically streamlining the script and characters," Alfred replied.

I playfully jested with Alfred, remarking that he was the comic artist, to which he responded with a touch of sarcasm.

As Valerie finished explaining the financials, I told Alfred to send me the first issue. As soon as Valerie received it, she started reading it.

"I take it this comic is completely fictional," she said after reading.

"Absolutely, Valerie," I replied.

She expressed her intrigue and curiosity about the baby's fate, and I knew we had a hook to engage readers.

With Valerie's assistance, we soon found suitable candidates for the company staff, and I instructed Alfred to begin marketing across all platforms once the staff was in place.

As the day progressed, Alfred and I reviewed the next issues, which were masterfully crafted, taking the best elements from various comic versions.

Alfred questioned whether we should include Batman in the comics to create a cover for my real identity. However, I insisted on using Owlman, with only minor changes to Batman's character, to maintain a positive outlook on powers in this society.

As the business end of things was sorted, it was time for my life's mission to begin. Alfred had already prepared everything for my first scouting expedition as the Caped Crusader.

"Alright, Alfred, let's start monitoring communications for any discrepancies that require our attention," I instructed.

"Right away, Master Bruce."

As the night fell over Astro City, the true hero would rise. Crescent Wood Mansion would soon serve as a symbol of hope and justice. I donned the cape and cowl, ready to protect the city from its darkest secrets. The journey of the Caped Crusader had begun.
