Alchemy and Medicine
Going out of the Blacksmithing building, Fu Yang saw a group of Disciples surrounding Zhang Hao.
Seeing that he just lost his consciousness due to pain, Fu Yang heaved a sigh.
'At least he didn't die.'
"As I forgot to record your name, those who at least tried the Heat Endurance test write your name here. There are some minor courses that will require heat endurance, so if ever you aren't accepted among the major courses you can try for those."
Courses that requires hands-on test for the New Disciples are only 5 so the Sect Master decided to base the additional test among those and then have the results forwarded to the minor courses' elders. In that way, they will not be troubled in setting new test continuously.
The test results of the Blacksmithing Course is usually forwarded to minor courses with similar environment such as Accessory Making, Metal Welding, Glass Making and Cooking.
However, unlike Blacksmithing, the Heat Endurance required is just minimal. So the feat of a disciple trying the heat endurance test was good enough.
Furthermore, they don't require disciples to be good immediately. Skills are acquired, not be born with it.
Leaving behind Zhang Hao, Fu Yang and the other new disciples went to the next test; Fire Control, Logic and Analysis.
Arriving in front of a High Ceiling single-floor building, they saw two disciples, one female and one male, standing in front of the bug door.
"Zhou Ying and Han Lei, what are you doing here?"
The two disciples bowed towards Fu Yang before responding.
"Elder Fu, we are here to inform that the test is only for those Blue and above talent." Said the female disciple.
"Master forgot to tell you, he didn't want to use his Energy Phone to inform you." Added the male disciple.
Hearing the words of the two, he can only sigh deep inside and agree.
"Why did Elder Lu trouble you just for that simple reason?"
Before answering the question, the two looked at each other first.
"In case you ask that, master said he was afraid of you going to clear his nickname."
'What kind of reason is that?'
Fu Yang furrowed his forehead and slide his fingers on his bridge nose back and forth.
These Elders are really giving him a hard time.
Calming himself down, he looked towards the disciples and inform them about the current situation.
"Disciples with blue and above talent are the only one taking this exam. The rest can just go back to your dorm, there's no need for you to wait here as this will be the last test for today."
Complaining grunts immediately sounded among the disciples. It seems like many of them aren't going to be tested for any test today.
"However, schedule for this afternoon is self-training in the plaza. If you are lucky to have any elder passing by, you may get a chance to become a direct disciple."
The complaining grunts from the disciples soon change to happy voices.
It seems like there was a chance to become an Elder's disciple.
With the hope that they hold on to, most of the disciples left leaving around 20 people.
They entered the building and found one couldron at the middle of the room.
Looking at the empty building with one couldron left, Fu Yang was left speechless.
"Zhou Ying, how come your building is empty?"
"Master said to put all the materials in spatial rings so even if there are explosions coming from the New Disciples, the Alchemy course things will still be intact." Answered Zhou Ying while showing to Fu Yang the bunch of rings she was holding.
Fu Yang recalled the story he heard after he came back from the Unnamed Mystic Realm.
It seems like back then some New Disciple blew up the building as he added too much Leroach on his couldron. When the couldron couldn't contain it anymore due to the unbalance ingredients, it caused a huge explosion.
Fortunately, no one died but all the materials of the Alchemy Building were gone.
Elder Lu Cao even cried when that happened, all his months and even years product had gone in drain.
"Was last year's happening too traumatic for him?" Fu Yang shook his head while asking as if pitying the unfortunate predicament of Elder Lu Cao last year.
"Yes, elder Fu. That's why he decided that from now on, all the things of the building will be hidden in a spatial ring when having new disciples do the test here."
After talking about the happening, Fu Yang decided to start explaining the mechanics.
He didn't do this earlier because he was told by Elder Lu Cao to explain it right before they start so no one will forget it.
Taking out his Energy Phone, he read the mechanics sent by Elder Lu Cao a few day prior to the exam.
"One by one, each disciple would be concocting a pill. The recipe is to be provided by Han Lei. The disciple shall strictly follow the recipe. After that, they will need to answer a written Examination to be provided by Zhou Ying. That's all. P.S. those who don't follow instructions or the recipe are not allowed in my building."
After reading out loud the note from his Energy Phone, he looked towards the Disciples as if he wanted to see if the instructions weren't clear.
There was an instruction below the note for him that said those disciples confused by the instructions are to be eliminated immediately. Although he didn't know why, Fu Yang still followed.
Seeing tht no one expressed any confusion, Fu Yang decided to proceed with the test.
Starting alphabetically, he called the oldest among the two twins An Yingli.
Before starting the test An Yingli wanted to ask something.
"Elder Fu, does my results be forwarded on the Medicine Course? I actually don't want Alchemy, my expertise lies on medicine. However, Medicine course don't have a test."
Hearing the question of An Yingli, Fu Yang thought for a moment before responding.
"Hmm... Medicine Course. They have a separate system. The best way to enter is to become an Alchemist first, that's why most of the Medicine Disciples are Alchemist first.
Don't expect me to answer why. I don't know."
Hearing Elder Fu'ss words, An Yingli sighed and went towards the couldron and started the test.
She took the piece of paper given by Han Lei and carefully read it. Skillfully controlling the Fire with her energy, she started preparing the ingredients and put it inside the couldron as per instructed by the recipe.
As she finished concocting, 5 pills were created. 3 of them were normal and 2 were in perfect state.
Seeing good results from the start, Fu Yang can't help but praise this new disciple.
"You did good, An Yingli. Now go and answer the test provided by Zhou Ying."
Following An Yingli was her twin sister. She started concocting and did more skillfully then her sister.
When she finished, her results were actually better than her sister's.
5 perfect pill and 2 normal.
"Wow, it's seems like both of you sister are very talented. Is perhaps An Yingqi's field of expertise lies in Alchemy?"
Blushing a little bit because of the praise, An Yingqi nodded. She was really different from her sister. Her older sister was the confident one while she was the shy one.
Seeing the results of An Yingqi, Han Lei step up.
"Elder Fu, she doesn't need to answer the written test. Master said to me that if a new disciple were ever to make 5 and above perfect pills in one go, they would get an automatic pass."
When An Yingqi initially heard that she didn't need to do the written test, she panicked. She actually thought she wouldn't get to become an Alchemist, however, hearing the following words she was relieved.
It seems like there was still a chance to become an Alchemist.
