A Name

After a many nights of Batman interrogating multiple low level criminals on the streets of Gotham, Bruce sits in the cave thinking to himself. At that moment, Alfred comes down with some tea that Bruce smells in the air.

"The Earl Grey. What's the occasion, Alfred?" Bruce asks with a smile.

"You seemed like you needed a break, sir." Alfred replies.

As Bruce takes a cup and starts sipping his tea, his mind still drifts off to thinking about the Kingpin.

"Any leads yet, master Bruce?"

"No, I've hit a wall, Alfred. So far everyone I've asked usually don't know his actual name, just his reputation. Meanwhile, whoever he is, he's still operating in Gotham, human trafficking, drug smuggling, all gone up since Carmine was taken off the board." Bruce says.

"What about Mr. Cobblepot, sir?"

"Cobblepot won't talk. Whoever this Kingpin is, he's got him scared."

At that moment, an alarm goes off in the cave.

"Looks like Batman will have to wait. It's time for Bruce Wayne to make an appearance."

Bruce smirks, putting on his red tented glasses and walking towards the elevator.

"I'm starting to think Batman has it easier than Bruce Wayne

Meanwhile, Wesley meets with a man with blonde hair, who is running on a treadmill at the gym. The blonde man looks over at Wesley and quickly turns off the treadmill and wiping the sweat from his face.

"Wesley. What can I do for you and the big guy?" The blonde haired man asks.

Wesley smirks and hands him a piece of paper. The blonde haired hitman reads the piece of paper and smirks.

"A big fish. This about Carmine being locked up?" He asks.

"He could be a problem for our employer in the future. Your job is to make sure he doesn't cause any more trouble."

The hitman nods and crumbles the paper.

"Consider it done." He says.

Meanwhile, at a charity event ran by Wayne Enterprises as everyone is talking amongst themselves, a limo pulls up infront of the building, catching everyone's attention. Soon Bruce Wayne steps out of the limo with a white cane in hand while the paparazzi takes multiple photos of him and calling his name. When he walks inside, he is met by William Earle, a board member of Wayne Enterprises.

"Bruce, it's good to see you." William says, offering his hand to him.

Bruce smiles.

"Well, it's good to uh- hear you. Is that William Earle?" Bruce asks.

William awkwardly puts his hand down and puts it on his shoulder.

"Yes, yes it is. Glad you could make it, come on I have people for you to meet."

Bruce softly sighs, not looking forward to this. Through the night, Bruce meets many of the rich and powerful members of Gotham City. At that moment he is approached by someone familiar to Batman, but not to Bruce Wayne.

"Hey, Mr. Wayne. I'm Harvey Dent. You might not know me but-"

"The District attorney, right? I've heard nothing but good things. People say you're a good attorney, and a good guy."

Harvey smiles.

"Well, I'd like to think so. But I'd like to do more for the city. That is, with your help."

Bruce listens to Harvey's heartbeat, noticing that he's being honest and smiles.

"I'll help Gotham in anyway I can. It's my home." Bruce says.

"Good. Glad to hear it. Who knows, maybe this is the start of a beautiful friendship." Harvey says.

As the two share a laugh, Bruce gets distracted by a noise outside of the building. He listens close, realizing that it's a machine gun being loaded and aimed at the building.

"Uh- Bruce? Is everything alright?" Harvey asks.

"GET DOWN!" Bruce yells.

As gunfire rings out through the building, Bruce quickly pushes Harvey and a woman nearby out of the way, but Harvey gets hit in the shoulder. After many of the people duck down to the floor, and a few others get shot, Bruce listens to a car drive off, realizing that it's safe to stand up.

"Is everyone alright?" Bruce asks, acting as a regular blind man.

At that moment he is tackled to the ground by a large man.

"Stay down, sir! Someone call nine-one-one!"

Minutes later, at Gotham General Hospital, Bruce is guided by Alfred to approach Jim Gordon.

"Mr. Wayne. Glad to see you're alright at least." Jim says.

"What's the damage?" Bruce asks.

Jim sighs.

"Nine injured. Five dead. Considering how many people were there tonight, it could've been a lot worse." Jim says.

Gordon is then called away by another cop.

"Excuse me, Bruce. I have to take care of something."

As Jim walks away, Bruce listens in on the conversation between the cop and Jim.

"We have an eye witness at the scene. Says that the shooter was a man with blond hair, driving an all black SUV." The cop tells Gordon.

"Did they see a license plate?" Jim asks.

"No, it was too dark and the vehicle was moving too fast." The cop says.

At that moment, Bruce and Alfred goes to leave the hospital.

"Why the devil would anyone target a charity event?"

"The event wasn't the target. Harvey Dent was. Whoever this Kingpin is, he must have thought Harvey was a threat and wanted him taken out. By the sound of the description, the shooter must be a man named Zhirinovsky, better known in the criminal underworld as The Blond." Bruce says.

"And how do we find this Zhirinovsky?" Alfred asks.

"I'll need a change of clothes first."

Later on through the night, as Zhirinovsky is packing up to go finish off Harvey, he sees Batman coming at him from behind through the reflection of his back window of his car. The hitman quickly ducks as Bruce's knee goes straight through the glass. The Vigilante throws a kick at his head, but Zhirinovsky ducks as Bruce flips off of the car. Bruce throws another kick, this time landing it into the blond's stomach, pushing him back. The two start trading blows, with Bruce starting to get the upper hand.

Batman quickly dodges a punch, then lands one of his own in Zhirinovsky's gut. He then runs at the hitman and lands a dropkick into his chest, sending him flying into a nearby mirror, shattering it. Bruce kips up to his feet as Zhirinovsky crawls on the ground, picking up a shard of glass. The hitman quickly gets to his feet and tries to stab Bruce, but he easily flips him to the ground, and puts the shard of glass to his neck.

"Who hired you to kill Harvey Dent?" Bruce asks.

Zhirinovsky stays silent for a moment.

"You think I'm afraid of you?" He asks.

Bruce then stabs Zhirinovsky in the shoulder with the piece of glass then puts back to his throat.

"Tell me." Bruce demands.

When Bruce doesn't get an answer, he puts more pressure on the glass, piercing his skin and drawing blood. Fear finally enters Zhirinovsky mind.

"Who do you work for?!" Bruce yells.

Zhirinovsky tries to stay silent.

"The Kingpin." He answers.

"I WANT A NAME!" Bruce yells.

"I can't." Zhirinovsky replies desperately

Bruce then puts even more pressure with shard of glass to his throat, causing him to scream out in pain. After a few more moments of agony, he finally gives Bruce a name.

"Fisk! Wilson Fisk!" He yells.

Bruce takes the glass and slams it to the ground and stands over the beaten Zhirinovsky.

"You get in your car. If I ever see you in Gotham City again-" Bruce starts to say.

"No." Zhirinovsky inturupts.

"You do not want to test me."

"I gave up his name... You don't do that, not to him... He'll find me... and everyone I've ever cared about... and make an example."

Zhirinovsky then picks up another shard of glass and stands to his feet, staring down Bruce.

"You should've just killed me... you coward."

Zhirinovsky then stabs himself through the head, dieing instantly, shocking even Bruce. After a few minutes, Batman leaves the scene as he hears voices coming this way. On the rooftops, Bruce sits alone, taking off his mask and staring off into the distance. As the moonlight hits Gotham, he wonders what kind of Monster Wilson Fisk is.

A few nights later, Wesley walks into a mysterious warehouse and sees the crime lords who run Gotham City from the shadows. Oswald Cobblepot, Black Mask, and Sofia Falcon( the daughter of Carmine Falcon).

"Thank you all for coming."

He then looks around, noticing that someone's missing.

"Where's Dr. Tzin?" Wesley asks.

No one answers for a moment as Dr. Tzin storms into the warehouse angrily.

"One of my drug warehouses was hit by the Bat." Dr. Tzin says.

Wesley sighs.

"So you're telling me the Triad can't handle one man dressed as a bat?"

Dr. Tzin scowls at Wesley

"He was asking for your employer. By name." Dr. Tzin says.

Everyone is frozen in shock when they hear this, including Wesley. He then gives everyone a serious look before walking away. Tzin quickly grabs him by the arm, stopping him from leaving.

"I want to know what will be done about this." He says.

Wesley slowly turns around, causing the two to have a stand off.

"It will be handled. Now... remove your hand."

Tzin doesn't do anything for a moment, soon slowly letting go of Wesley. As Wesley turns to leave he calls his employer, the Kingpin.

"We have a problem."
