CHAPTER EIGHT

Two months and Paige was back on her two feet. She was fully healed but her house had started going into chaos. Each night her father and mother would argue and it was getting to her.

"I just want a divorce Maria, that's all!"

Paige's father screamed as he followed his wife down stairs.

"And I am saying I will not give it to you Jackson so back off!"

She said turning to look at her husband when she got downstairs.

"Look Maria, this has gone too far, you are never home you sleep around with men and I am so tired of trying to make this work…so you sign the divorce paper and I will allow you to keep the children but if you don't I am going to take the children and claim half of the businesses…"

Maria calmed down and looked at her husband.

"Your choice Maria."

Maria looked at him for a while before siting down.

"But I love you Jackson and I don't want a divorce."

She said calmly with tears in her eyes.

"If you did love me, then why are you sleeping with different men?"

He sat down next to her.

"If I don't do it, the businesses will fail and I will not be able to handle it…it's the only thing I have left of my parents and I can't lose it."

She explained looking at her husband.

"So you value your business more than your family?"

"That is not what I mean Jackson."

She tried to reach for his hand but he pulled his hands away.

"That is exactly what you mean…I know I am not as rich as you are Maria but I can manage to give you and the kids a good life if the business fail."

Maria looked at him and then away from him.

"I just can't lose it okay…even if it means sleeping with any man I will do it to save my business."

Jackson looked at her and stood up.

"Then I guess this is it…I am taking the children so you can whore around all you want…"

"No please not the children!"

Maria said standing up

"I won't allow you to teach Paige and Eddy such morals…have a happy life Maria."

And with that he turned walking away and Maria watched him leave without saying a word with only tears in her eyes. It was for the best of her family.

 "Pa!"

Paige called when he saw his father walking with a suitcase.

"What's going on?"

Jackson smiled at his daughter, if not for the talk they had in the car the day he was taking her home, he wouldn't have been brave to leave his wife and start a new life.

"I am leaving your mother and you and your brother are coming with me."

That wasn't something Paige expected. This would definetly have a big turn in her future.

"She accepted to divorce you?"

She asked.

"No…but I will leave whether she want it or not…I hope you don't hate me for doing this."

Paige smiled at her father and hugged him tight.

"Of course not…if you are happy I am happy for you."
