Chapter 18

Their magic did regenerate! Or more accurately it refilled, I had them nearly empty it again to see but it refilled. As for the tied up servant who nearly starved to death. He lived. I force fed him some porridge and his magic refilled as well but at a much slower rate! So either food does affect magic regeneration or after emptying your magic it takes longer to refill.

Another magic related thing is the guards can't control their magic! Like at all, they get two commands: start and stop. They don't even get to direct their magic, it just expands. One of the guards thought it would be a good idea to forcefully expand his main node. He screamed for an hour and was in pain for 2 and a half days. Lesson learned!

Another, another magic related thing, magic has different frequencies! The higher the frequency the more deadly! My magic is such a high frequency that it forms a tornado in my head. It also starts to affect my brain a bit, but after having brain issues for a while I barely can tell it changed! It seems like the lower the frequency, the more liquid it is. The guards have varying frequency levels, it also seems like it's non-element related nor is it based on the amount of magic someone has. The guy who tried to forcibly expand his magic node has a lower frequency than the guy who did not. Also the wind guy was the one who attempted the expansion.

Now on to religion. A man in a white robe arrived yesterday and stated that he came on behalf of the church. He was looking to see what the powers were about. I made up an intricate lie while we were talking, so while I can't be the god of this religion. I can be the son of god! Now after I told him that I was the son of god he looked peaved and I assume he thought I was lying, which I was but still. A little lightning magic and gravity magic fixed that. It works as a great threat when you fill an area with gravity magic and to charge lighting in your hand. If you threaten a priest, he will turn pious very quick.

I laughed about my threat of summoning gods-lightning quite a bit, after he left. Basically the priest was trapped in a room with someone who may be god's child. When the furniture around him starts to float and lightning gets summoned in the possible demigods hand. To top it all off he starts threatening you that he will send god's wrath upon you. It was a blast, or nearly one for the priest.

Anyways the main religion of this world is believing in the elements, partially like the Romans. But the people here never name their gods nor do they write their names down as it is seen as a curse to the speaker. Do they call the god of water, the god of water. Funny but everyone prays for different gods during different times. They pray for the god of earth when planting, the god of water for rain and the god of light for... Light. There are some people who pray strictly to one god but they are the minority. Most priests pray for the god of light as he is seen as the leader, either his or the god of darkness. The sun is a part of the light and the night sky is a part of the dark.

They seem basic as they are. It gives me nearly free reign to shape them as I wish. I am a son of god who gives powers to the mortals, no I bestow power to the mortals by god decree. I just need to know what magic types people can have so I can add, remove or edit certain gods. After all, how could mortals know exactly what domain the gods control, I as a son of god must have a higher chance of knowing right? The church might not like it if I try to become the pope or its written name "Pontifex Maximus." So what is the second best thing? Naturally as a son of god I have no need for such mortal titles so I shall create my own. I am now known as a saint, we have no sway on the church's internals but we must talk to the people and be the people's connection to the gods! Anyway when I go to church I can explain that.

I learned a bit about the world from the study but honestly most of the books in there are crap. Either I can't read all of the characters or it's missing pages. And even if it's a full book there is so much of the preamble it's insane. It goes on for a quarter of the time praising the author, and when it finally gets to the content it talks about how great the author is for knowing this fact or piece of information. It's horrid. It's painful. It's not my style. It's something I am going to try and do as little as I can, read oboist people with god complexes. Who cares if you think you're god? Already make it possible like you are the son of god. People make me angry.

Anyways I have learned that Eve loves to learn to a stupid degree. She is also much more selfish than I first thought. She loves to read books about heroes and wants to be one in the future. Normally this would be extremely difficult but I'm here so why wouldn't I make a hero for my soon to be newly acquired church. Or maybe a saintes, depending on her magic type. Also her knight wants magic too but won't ask me straight up for it, he says things like "let me try it first to see if it will hurt Eve." Or "if you really need a test subject I would gladly help a fellow guard out!" He just wants magic, the guards who got magic have been showing off for days and one even attempted to give someone else magic, it failed. I beat up that guard for a while before letting him go, apparently so far I'm the only one who can grant people magic. I hope that will change in the future.
