Chapter 17

Can I make other people use magic? Yes! Can people control that magic? Sort of? Can people regenerate magic? I will find out soon! Did he choose wind like magic? Was it subconsciously chosen? Is it set? Can other people use more than one type of magic? I should get more test subjects, and there happen to be some people who look interested. The guards who stayed to watch what I was going to do!

"Hey! Does anyone want to learn magic, or have special powers?"

They just backed away and kept glancing at the unconscious man, who looked so horrible that he could start convulsing at any point. I hold my hand up and channel lighting, it shoots out from my hand upwards.

"Look I was hurting him on purpose! But I can control it which means you might be able to too!"

"I can summon lightning?"

"He looks untrustworthy."

"Might?"

"Why did he torture someone?"

"That looked cool!"

"Would Miquel get stronger if he learned that?"

I raised my hand and they went quiet after 20 seconds.

"I will only allow 3 people to learn it now!"

Many people rush over and start fighting for a spot, there were very few that stayed by to watch. So I summon more lighting and send it into the sky. The people quiet down right away. I walk around the group of people and look internally to see if anyone is special. I see a few different things. First, most people have a large node in either their navel or their chest, but it doesn't seem to correspond with any external traits. Only 1 person had a node in their head like me. Well 2 people counting Eve, but there is no way I'm testing it on a child. So I pick out the person with the head node and randomly chose the other two, one of each type of node position.

"You, you and you! Get up here."

"Yes!"

"I knew it would be me!"

"Suck it Steve!"

They walked up and I had them sit in a row, unlike with what I did to the tied up servant. I slowly let my magic into them and it fills their nodes. I then liaise and ask them if they feel different. All of them answer differently, naval node says that he feels quicker, chest node says he feels stronger and head node says he feels like he got a migraine. Based on this I can make a very rough assumption on what the node positions do.

I then ask naval node if he feels a heat in his stomach. He pauses for a second feeling his stomach before he agrees with feeling the heat in his stomach. I ask him to stay and move the heat in his body. I put my hand on his back and he tries to move the magic. It squirms a little and tries to push out of the node, but it doesn't go towards the mini node path leading to the hand node. Instead it tries to push out in all directions.

So I'll lightly try to manipulate the magic so it follows the path. I do this much more carefully than with the servant, as this person has done nothing wrong to my knowledge. The magic slowly moves towards the mini nodes and moves into one. After it fills that mini node the magic starts to carve away at the path leading to the next node. This continues for around 15 minutes before it finally reaches the right arm's large node.

After all of the carving, the magic flows back into the main node in his naval, but it leaves a path that the magic can flow through. I step away from the man and ask him to try to move the heat in his naval. He moves the heat and fire starts to shoot from his hand. I quickly ask for him to stop moving the heat and the fire stops instantly. I then repeated the process for his other arm and the 2 guards who were patiently waiting. It took around 80 minutes to finish up with the magic.

"My kids are gonna flip!"

"It's only natural that I have water powers, I'll go ahead and wash away all of the sins of this world. Hidden I'm my left hand is the power of the gods!"

"You see this Steve? Your a f*cking weakling! You might have beaten me in swordsmanship but if you come near me I'll blow you straight to the castle dungeon!"

During this the tied up man was still unconscious but some color returned to his face. The 3 guards started to show off what they could do a few minutes after everyone was done. One had fire, one had water and the last one hand wind like the servant. Now, I won't give Eve magic right away as I don't know if there are any side effects. If the fire guy starts melting in his sleep or something, you never know. But there seems to be no difference between where the nodes are except, for what they thought, but whether the one guy actually got stronger needs to be tested.

Wait. Eve! I just left her here while I was testing the magic. I'm an idiot! Sh*t! I rush over to Eve to make sure she's ok.

"Can I do ma-gee-kuh now!?"

"After a bit more testing maybe."

She seems fine, actually she seems like she's beaming! But I lead her back into the manor and have the chef make her a snack, it may have only been around 3 since breakfast but kids need energy. Especially when they are going to learn magic powers. Food for thought? Food for focus? Food for magical energy. After this I need to make sure the guards can regenerate this magic on their own.

Did I leave the unconscious servant still tied up in the middle of the training field? Sucks to be him. I'll let him wake up and I'll pick him up in a few hours.
