Chapter 3: Plot against the Emperor

White Rainbow felt frustrated beyond words and was silent for a while.

Arguing with such a nobleman who showed his teeth in a friendly smile, yet openly admitted that he cared nothing for the poor and destitute was akin to playing a lute to a cow.

"If you end up killed by common folk, I won't be surprised at all!"

"As long as you're not coming to kill me, I'm fairly confident I can live out my natural years."

The Purple Emperor wore an unaffected smile, seemingly indifferent to the venomous curse laid before him.

White Rainbow sighed despondently.

Kill the Purple Emperor?

That's easier said than done.

Even if the Purple Emperor didn't justify himself and openly picked a fight with him, even if he managed to gather people to assassinate the Purple Emperor, the chances were slim.

This, both he and the Purple Emperor knew. Yet, the latter still explained to him, a gesture of respect. If he pushed this further, it'd be nothing more than a lack of self-respect, a loss of face!
