Chapter 34, Crystal Shield

As we spend time preparing for the battle, we feel that our bodies are slowly becoming one and on the morning of the second day, we felt that the Titans were approaching. It's too early, but I guess the one that took possession of Luna's body has finally made her move.

"So, it finally begins." Dres-san said as we all stood at the entrance of the city.

"We'll stop them." I said and offered my hand to Haruka.

"Oh light of hope, lamplight of life, shine your radiance upon this broken land and grant the breath of life to all who dwell here." We chanted. "By the power we bear, let there be light!"

A barrier engulfed the area and a barrier was erected. We only have to buy time for Rose to activate Crystal Shield. Till then, we just have to hold back these pests.

"You two, are you ready?" Ryu asked and we nodded.

"Let's go!" We exclaimed and flew towards the battlefield.

"Hyaa!" Ryu punched the ground hard. "Dragon Surge!"

Geez. His just showing off now. We're only fending off monsters did he have to use the Dragon Branch's Boosting Spell?

"Sylphid's Tempest!" Takeshi pushes through the horde of monsters with the power of Sylphid.

"Geez. They're just showing off now." Neph said as he hacked away at the monsters.

"We haven't even warmed up yet." Dia said she chopped a orc in half.

"Taurus! Leo! Lupus! Sagittarius!" I summoned the four.

"Let's get to work!" Taurus said slashing away at the monsters.

"Come on you little pests!!" Lupus said as he punched them with Leo. "You better give me a good fight!!!"

"That's my line." Leo said. "I haven't fought in a long time."

"That goes for all of us." Sagittarius said as he shot arrows of light in the horde of monsters.

"Out of my way!" I turned to see Haruka acting more dominant than usual.

"Ahahaha, looks like his dominant side came out." I said and smiled. "Hyaa!"

I slashed away at the monsters but there is no end to them. As the battle dragged on I ordered everyone to retreat into the city so that we can recover.

Inside the city walls, it seems Lucia and the girls have prepared food for everyone.

"Will it really be fine to retreat when there's so many of them?" Klaus-san asked.

"Yeah. It's fine. They can't get close to the city as long as Argonaut is up in the sky." I answered pointing to the sky where the Argonaut is raining down rays of lights at the monsters.

"Haruki, bring that one out would you." Haruka said. "Just to be safe."

"Here." I handed him a small glass ball.

"By the power I bear, disappear." He said and suddenly a pillar of light came down from the skies and went around the circumference of the town walls eradicating all the monsters. "This thing sure is handful."

"Yeah. Pretty powerful, this Eye of the Moon." I said as I took back the glass ball. "Gin, Ray, Yuri, Riri, take these and stand gaurd at the entrances would you."

"These are... the Specialized Weapons, correct?" Ray said and I nodded.

"Okay then." They answered and went off.

"What did you give them exactly?" Zero asked.

"Ah, the Specialized Weapons, Zodiacs." I answered and Lita and Haruko and his gang nearly choked on what they were drinking. "You okay?"

"We should be asking you that!!" Ryu exclaimed.

"The Specialized Weapons!!" Haruko exclaimed. "With all due respect, those are!!"

"They are what?" Spark asked.

"One of the Ancient Treasures of our nation!!" Takeshi exclaimed. "And he lent them just like that!!"

"Oh please, don't worry about it." I said. "Those were just the spares. The real ones are still back at the South."

"Thank goodness." Lita said. "Those things are dangerous."

Suddenly, the ground quaked loudly and then the warning bells exploded. Titans.

"I-it's not just the Titans!!" Ryusei-san said as he ran for us. "Guardians... as well as Luna-sama's real body."

"Leave the Guardians to us!" We said as we flew off.

----

"Let's get ready to cast Crystal Shield!" I shouted as I tied my hair back.

"How do we cast it?" Takeshi asked.

"Just buy me time." I answered.

"Okay then." Aria said and patted my shoulder.

As they went off to join the fight I began the final preaprations for Crystal Shield. It's a very powerful spell that requires strong concentration. I have to focus. It requires only one thing. A desire to protect the bonds we've made.

Calmly, I take a deep breathe and begin the chant as sounds of explosions and destruction ring around me.

"It's time to assemble! A shield shining in the light of the crystals! Awaken, here and now, become a shield that protects the ones who share these bonds!" I started the chant and held my hand out to the sky. "The Insignia shines in the colors of the rainbow. Rise, so that I may protect the ones I love! Crystal Shield!"

"Here it comes." Aria shouted.

A ring of light emerges from my hand and spreads forth in all directions. It connects to everyone who bears our guild's Insignia and then dissipates once it reaches the mark changing their colors to a rainbow hue.

"Now!" I shouted. "Crystal Shield!"

Everyone raises their hands to the sky and the guild marks rise to the sky and slowly, spread out a blanket of light and connects which each other forming the Crystal Shield.

As the guild marks shine in the hues of the rianbow resembling crystals, the ground is filled with crystals that slowly release rays of light to the sky and finally, the shield completely covers the town engulfing it in its rainbow hue with the guild mark at the very peak.

"It's... done." I said as I fell to the ground in exhaustion. "I leave... the rest... to you... Haruki... Haruka..."

I look at the sky which is now lit with the colors of the rainbow before I lose consciousness completely.
