Chapter 2

Furi sat up slowly, rubbing his eyes. He winced slightly; his vision was blurry, but he still managed to catch a glimpse of his surroundings. Or rather, lack thereof. A small field surrounded by trees stood in front of him, empty except for a small pile of rocks. There didn't seem to be any people nearby either, which only served to remind him that, yes, he had apparently ended up in the middle of nowhere and was currently unconscious.

"Ugh… I think I hit my head pretty hard." He muttered to himself as he slowly got up from the ground, brushing dirt away from himself. It didn't look any worse than it had when he'd fallen earlier, but it wasn't pleasant to stand around for long periods of time, even with the sun's rays providing some sort of heat.

He tried walking forward, but it seemed that his legs wouldn't cooperate. The moment he took another step forwards he felt his knees buckle underneath him, causing him to fall to the ground.

Okay, this was strange. How in the world would he manage to get himself home without being able to walk properly? He glanced down at himself, realizing that he was dressed in only a short-sleeved shirt, shorts and a pair of shoes.

Wait. Shoes?

His eyes widened as he realized his feet weren'T there anymore. Oh god, was he floating? Did he just float up to the sky?! What if someone saw him?! If it wasn't the wind, it was most certainly the person that dropped him here! Or it could have been those giant wolves or a horde of ghosts! They never actually attacked anyone, but the possibility was real.

He tried calling out for help, but no noise came out. Frantic and anxious, he looked around frantically, searching for something he could use as a weapon. A tree branch or rock would be great, but he couldn't just climb up one of these and hope to find someone to rescue him. If only he had his phone, oh gods, if only…

"Hello!" a voice called out.

Panic surged through him, making him freeze up entirely. He looked down fearfully, his breathing starting to speed up even more. Where the hell was that coming from!? Was someone chasing him?! Were they gonna catch him!?

"Is anybody out there!?" the voice shouted again. Whoever was talking sounded terrified. Why were they scared? Didn't they realize he was out here alone? Or that he had no idea what to do?!

Furi forced himself to take deep breaths. He needed to calm down, stay collected, not panic. He needed to remain as calm as possible.

"Hey, are you alright?!" the same voice called out once more.

Furi tried responding again, but instead the sounds of rustling leaves filled the air. As he turned towards the direction of the noises he saw something move.

A large white wolf was stalking towards him, it's sharp yellow eyes glaring directly at him. Furi gasped in horror, frozen in place. This… this wasn't supposed to happen, none of this was supposed to happen.

Suddenly, without warning, the wolf pounced forward, landing directly atop Furi's stomach, knocking the breath out of him. Furi let out a scream as his attacker pinned him to the ground, claws digging into his flesh, biting into his neck and shoulders.

He struggled desperately beneath the creature as his arms tried to push it off, trying to free himself from its grasp. All he could hear was his blood rushing through his veins as he clawed at the large fur that covered its body, trying to break free.

The wolf growled, tearing open his shoulder as it pulled back to bite down on his exposed neck once more. Just as it opened its maw to sink its teeth in, two loud thuds cut through the air. A figure fell to the ground behind the wolf
