The light shone brightly, blinding him. It felt like fire in his eyes, so much so that he couldn't see where he was going and just ended up tumbling down a hill, falling through an endless field of grass. He hit the ground painfully, but didn't feel too bad about it. In fact he felt kind of good considering the circumstances.

He could hear his heartbeat beating hard against his chest as if it were trying to escape from his body. His hands reached up to his throat, feeling the skin, feeling the pulse in his neck pounding loudly.

It hurt. Every beat, it hurt so badly he thought he might throw up. The more time passed the less painful it became, though still painful enough to make him want to crawl into his bed and pretend this was all nothing but a dream. It had to be a dream right? Because there was no way this could have happened. There was no way he'd survive a trip like that, especially not with how sick and dizzy he was right now.

But then again who was he kidding, he wasn't dead yet so maybe this really was a dream after all. Maybe everything would go back to normal tomorrow and things would be as they always were. Nothing ever changed for anyone in his world, right? No one knew what was truly happening around them because everyone lived in their own little bubble, unaware of anything out of the ordinary.

Except…

Well except someone who was living in his bubble. Someone who'd probably gone through something just like this.

Someone with abilities that rivaled his, even better than his own, if he had to say so himself.

That' s when he heard it. The sound of footsteps running towards him.

"Are you alright?" asked a voice above him, followed by the sound of a body plopping beside him on the ground.

The man's hair was disheveled and messy, but he looked relatively okay other than a few bruises and scrapes across his face. His clothes were torn, but otherwise pretty fine considering the circumstances. That and he seemed fairly tall judging from the fact that he managed to sit beside him.

The boy looked up at the guy next to him, who was watching him intently.

If it had been anyone else he would've brushed it off as being weird or freaked out. But the thing was, he wasn't freaked out by the whole situation at all. Instead he found it… interesting. Like something out of a movie or a book. Something magical that defied explanation.

Something he wanted to experience, and learn.

"I'm Furi…" he started, taking a moment before he decided what to do, "…I don't remember."

Furi? Who the heck was that? And why did he know his name? Wasn't he supposed to be dead? Was there some sort of afterlife that he'd somehow woken up in? This whole experience seemed like an awfully odd coincidence, but…
