Awakening of the Dragon God

The Dragon God of this world had grown angry and fearful at the same time. His descendants were supposed to reach apex power in the world and suppress all other races into submission! It was supposed to be fun and worthwhile watching everything play along! Yet, every single strong being consisted of only humans in these eras! This was so frustrating! "Alright, that's it. I need a dragon who can display the true power of our race and suppress all the humans that took over the world. I need someone that doesn't have a beast's mind. I need someone that is willing to take risks and blast through life-threatening situations for supreme power. Someone who showcases to the world what a True Dragon is once again." " Time to check out that place and fix what has been once broken." Sam was an assassin who finally got to retire after his arm got broken without any possibility of healing again. His life ended in a sudden tragedy that he actually expected to happen, but before he could go to the afterlife, he was pulled away by a being that spoke about reviving his race. Follow Sam on his journey as a dragon to conquer the human race and reach the apex in a world where people thought dragons were mere useless lizards that were good in nothing. However, an unexpected situation in that not even the dragon god saw it coming occurred, and the strongest system of extraordinary origins chose Sam as its host. The cover isn't mine. True Fear!

Sam rapidly sped to the crack in the wall right in front of him.

His speed was triple that of a human athlete, which made sense for Sam since he was now a true dragon and not a human. Just the fact that he could run with four legs already made a huge difference, much less the extra boost of his bloodline.

He quickly arrived at the door within a few moments, located at the same spot where the grey dragon was painted. However, the enormous dragon was on the top half of the thick wall, so Sam wasn't bothered by it at all.

The moment he reached the thick black wall where the door was located, he noticed something interesting, and he couldn't help but marvel over his luck.

' Guess I'm meant to escape from this place,'

He inwardly laughed after he saw the grey dragon healing his injuries on top of him, actually destroying a good chunk of the door and widening its crack by a few more meters, even though it was a small gap in comparison to the grey dragon size, for Sam it was perfect, and he could effortlessly enter it.

' What if I try something before I leave?' Sam thought.

He found it incredible that he was able to heavily injure this massive dragon with only his true name, and before he left this place for good, he frankly wanted to unveil this mystery for good.

Could he do it again?

How was he capable of accomplishing such a feat?

Was it an ability of a true dragon with a royal bloodline?

Or maybe the dragon god gifted him such a technique?

Did it have limitations?

He had a lot of questions, but the only way to get answers for them was by experimenting with that exact action over and over again.

Sam grinned, showing his front teeth, and made his move.

He flapped both of his wings with all the strength he could muster, but he only slightly lifted from the ground before falling back.

He turned his long neck and looked at his wings, which had a wingspan of only two meters to each side, 'These wings are too small to support my weight... Wait for a second; I have the information provided by my eggshell; that should be it!!!'

Sam focused on his memories and went through the information he received, and in a matter of moments, innate dragon knowledge of how to fly flooded into his brain.

He slowly started to move mana from his soul towards his wings. Immediately small conduits for magic energy in his wings flared up with energy.

Then he flapped his wings, lifting from the ground. He looked up and slowly flew upwards; wind currents in the surrounding immediately moved and started to push him, allowing him to move a bit faster, taking him right in front of the grey dragon's head that was covered in a blue mist.

He didn't know if the injuries he inflicted would be healed quickly or if the dragon would only need some more time to fully go back to his peak state, but this was a risk he had to take.

If his attempt didn't work, then he could still leave in a hurry, albeit it would be way more dangerous since he basically wasted a few more minutes inside this garden, which in turn would give the grey dragon the upper hand.

' This distance should be the same as when I let out my true name.' Sam was deep in thought as he tried to recreate the same scene and feelings from the moment when he had revealed his true name.

" Arin, the Eternal!"

Boom!

Crack! Crack!

Gush!

The moment Sam spoke his true name once again, the grey dragon was forcefully pushed even deeper into the wall, creating an even bigger crater and widening the crack by tens of meters, which could now be easily noticed from the outside.

Right after, the blue mist that was totally covering the enormous body of the dragon vanished, revealing a bloody mess behind it.

The grey dragon looked like someone who had just left a deadly battle and lost after exchanging thousands of moves with his enemy that he was at a disadvantage against, dropping dead without any surprise.

All his hard scales, which not even a great mage could easily penetrate, were broken to pieces without an exception, blood gushing out of his numerous wounds like miniature fountains that were blocked by some rocks for a long time, finally having the ability to breathe and show the world their magnificent image.

His lizard-like mouth, which was several meters in length, was wide open as he was about to let out a deafening roar of pain, anger, and agony.

***

The Grey Dragon's POV right before Sam created his copy and made his way to the door.

' Such an impact; this isn't any different from being hit by a great mage attacking spell who grasped a fourth law, astonishing. Was that his true dragon innate ability?'

He was quite in a lot of pain from that sudden attack right now, but he could still calmly think since his healing spell already took effect and was halfway through fully healing him.

At this moment, he couldn't help but think that he had been way too reckless with this true dragon, thinking that it posed no threat given the fact that it had just hatched, which in a sense, was right.

Who would think that a true dragon hatchling would be able to use such a powerful attack from the get-go?

In fact, the grey dragon had once been warned and told many times by his fellow friends from the dragon race about the strength and power of true dragons.

As a matter of fact, they even told him about their encounters with them since they also had to watch over true dragons hatchling for some time, teach them stuff, and guide them through their early years till they become loyal to the king.

However, from their words, even though the true dragon's innate ability was quite strong, his friends clearly stated that it only had the ability to heavily injure a second-realm dragon or a third-realm human.

Yet, the true dragon innate ability in front of him exceeded all common sense and was able to heavily injure an ancient dragon of his standing, which he honestly found quite terrifying and embarrassing at the same time.

' Hmm? What is he trying to do now?' The grey dragon thought as he watched the hatchling true dragon suddenly have a change of expression.

Even though he was heavily injured and was covered by his healing spell of blue mist that cut off his line of sight to the outside world, he could still clearly see everything with his divine sense.

Thus, he instantly noticed Sam darkened expression after his healing spell covered his own head, which is something he never expected.

' Impossible!'

The grey dragon inwardly yelled after he saw the identical copy Sam made on the same spot; a sense of urgency to ask for backup was the first thing he thought of.

Subsequently, fear invaded the very depths of his soul as he couldn't control himself anymore, quickly trying to make contact with his master to come and get him out of this situation.

He was hopeless and didn't know if this true dragon would go crazy and use his innate ability again, killing him on the spot.

Plus, this hatchling true dragon that was supposed only to have one strong technique from birth, which is his innate ability, was now using illusion, which is a law that only a handful in the world fully mastered.

As a matter of fact, only two people from this handful of mages and warriors were known to reach the fith law of illusion in the three empires, and each one of them held a position no less than a duke.

Yes! A duke!

A duke was a person that was overseeing a notable size of a kingdom and was in absolute control of a large city and a few medium ones.

Even though a king was beyond the capabilities of a duke in terms of wealth and authority, the gap in strength wasn't that apparent, which is the main reason why the grey dragon was in great shock after he saw the illusion Sam just executed.

It would be nice If I get some feedback on the POV change. Should I use it again, or is it bad and just a distraction? Hope you give me your thoughts on a comment, and thanks for giving my novel a try.
