Chapter 3

Tiber woke up early the next morning. Meeting him in the Main hall Jackie had breakfast made along with a cup of coffee.

Tiber sighed at the site of Jackie in a velvet bag she had cut holes in. 'At least it's not burlap. And I did tell her to make something she was comfortable with.' He thought. He thought back to the night before. She had wanted to sleep in the closet of all things.

He had had to argue with her for an hour and eventually got her to at least take over the Quartermaster room in the corner of the castle. 'She is stubborn.' Tiber thought.

"Jackie, I'm going to set up Arios (the Owl) in the tower by the left side of the main gate. After that I'll be in the library till about noon." Tiber said to her. "Please familiarize yourself with the castle and make a lost of anything you might need ok?"

She agreed and Tiber walked out to the castle. Entering his chosen room he took the door off its hinges and set up a perch in the room. Aries, a Blakiston's Fish Owl was gigantic. He needed a lot of room and was very laid back. Giving him a few owl treats he nuzzled Tiber before flying off to find food.

Tiber then began to study the books on magic. In the library. Partway into the book he heard a *DING*

Quest received

A Mages Staff. A mages staff is ceremonial mostly but it is needed. Forge a staff for yourself.

REWARD.

Skyforge

Knowledge of smithing

Shale

500 MP

(Don't remember if I covered MP won't be as prevalent or as easily obtained but will be used to buy stuff off the system.)

Tiber stood up from the table. Leaving the library he walked into the undercroft.

Luckily he had a blueprint already. He selected it and began to craft following the directions exactly. He forged the Flames of inquisition staff.

Holding it in his hand he began to move his mana through the staff. It became familiar like a part of him. Twirling it around his head he slammed it into the ground shooting flames off in all directions.

Looking out Tiber noticed that it was late afternoon. *Ding*

Mission complete issuing rewards. With a flash the Skyforge appeared in the undercroft. Knowledge flooded his mind and a rod of some sort appeared in his hand.

Looking at the staff Tiber winced. It was shoddy work and would break easily if he didn't fix it. As he moved to the forge and prepared to work, Jackie came barreling through.

"Mister Tiber Mister Tiber a statue appeared in the courtyard!!" She said excitedly.

"What?" Tiber asked running out into the courtyard. ' I thought the system meant it was giving me rocks, maybe as crafting materials.' He thought staring at the Giant Golem. The control rod glowed before it began to move.

"Where am I?" The golem asked in a gravely voice.

"Another fleshbag master." It said looking at Tiber. "The last one wasn't bad. We will see how you do." It looked around. "Where in Thedas am I?"

"Your not in Thedas anymore." Tiber answered. "This is my Castel on Earth, in the country of England."

"Hmm so the meatballs speaks." Shale said looking at him. "Well out with it. What is your order?"

"Order?" Tiber asked.

"You hold the control rod makes you my new master. What are your orders?" Shale said exasperated. 'Is it stupid ot something? What kind of Mage am I in servitude to now?'

"I don't want to order you to do anything, if you like you could live here." Tiber said. Thinking for a few more minutes he added. "I have access to vast knowledge of magic, several tomes from other worlds. I could research if we could return you to a fleshy body."

Shale stopped. And looked. "You barely know me and you would offer this?"

"I didn't summon you on purpose." Tuber said. "I don't have a way of sending you back but I could at least do this for you."

"Very well," Shale said before stopping. "I don't even know your name."

"Tiber." He responded, "What about your name?"

The golem hesitated for a moment. "Shayle."

Shale said she wanted to explore the castle. As they parted Tiber turned. "I know of your aversion to birds. I own a big Owl names Arios please don't kill it or any other owls ok? I'll try to keep him from roosting on you."

"Fine." Shayle said, "I won't kill it. If it poops on me though..."

Tiber nodded it was honestly the best he could expect from the giant golem.

"Any other fleshbags?" Shayle asked almost as an afterthought.

"You may see the house elf Jackie." Tiber answered. "She maintains the castle. It you ask she could probably clean you off."

"Hmm ill see."Shayle then began to walk to the upper walls. "I'll gaurd this castle for now. If you can restore me we will talk after. I would rather be here than being told to carry this carry that or squish the odd bandit."

Tiber thanked Shayle before going back to the undercroft. Heating the metal Tiber purchased some silverite from the store. Working the metal he slowly reforged it and worked it till it was better stronger.

Taking a steel ingot he put several cords of skyforge steel reinforcing the staff. He wrapped the middle in dragonling leather. It now fit better in his hand and even conducted magic better.

Finally finishing Tiber made his way back to bed falling asleep as soon as his head hit the pillow.

That night an owl glided across the sky towards the castle a letter clasped in its claws.

*AUTHOR NOTE*

I brought in Shayle. I liked the character from Dragon Age Origins. As both a follower and a gaurd Shayle would be a good solid addition to help Tiber. As for the staff. I liked the look of the Flames of the inquisition weapons and feel they fit well with the Dragonborn. Siverite will be my go to metal. Mostly for ti's properties from Inquisition. Heavy armor made of this could be worn by anyone. Meaning it is far lighter than steel or other metals but still comparably as strong. Posting this a day early have something important to do Friday so am not able to keep to the schedule. Hope you enjoy.
