Real training starts now

It's 7 in the evening and we decided to have a barbecue party outside my house beside the lemon tree. Adam brought their barbeque grill and Avah marinated the meat.

"So, how's your training?" Adam asked me while putting coals inside the griller.

"John said my real training will start tomorrow and we only did the basic moves I have to master" I said and produced a fire in my hand to light up the coals.

"Didn't he do something that only a madman would do?" he asked while chuckling. He knew yet he didn't warn me.

I squinted my eyes and shot him using my hand gun and a flame as big as my palm almost reached him.

"Are you trying to burn me as well?" I just laughed at him and looked at my index finger.

I practiced some moves earlier and this is the only thing that I mastered. Poor me.

"He almost killed me by throwing a large boulder at me."

I saw Avah coming out of the house. "During my training, he trapped me inside a cave he made and left me there alone." She said while grilling the barbecue.

Why do I have a feeling that they purposely forgot to tell me that John is a madman just to get even with all the newbies?

"What about you, Adam?" I asked him while wiping some oil to the barbecue.

"He pushed me off a cliff with wild sharks below because he thought that I am an Agua. Later, he realized that I am a Terra but he only said that it's a good thing I didn't die." He is unbelievable!

"But kidding aside, he is one good mentor." Avah agreed and I also nod.

I think I can learn so much from him if I won't die in the process.

After the barbecue was cooked, we ate together and shared some stories about us. They went home after two hours so I decided to go to sleep as well. I need energy for what will happen tomorrow so I have to sleep early.

---

I woke up 6:30 in the morning so I decided to drink a coffee while visiting my mother's plants.

There are so many butterflies in the garden flying from roses to roses. I sat on the chair near the lemon tree and watch the fairies sprinkled something on the plants.

"Good morning!" I greeted them cheerfully and they did the same. "Can I ask you a question?" I am already asking a question right now but whatever. I kept on thinking about this for a while now and it's been bombarding me these past few days.

"Go ahead" she replied.

"Do you guys transform into real fairies? I mean yes, of course, you are real but what I mean is like the fairies in the outside world?" Finishing the sentence seemed impossible for me for a while. Why are you stuttering, Frey?

"You mean this?" she then, transformed into a little creature with wings just like what in the story says.

"Wow" I was amazed by what she did. Awesome!

"Good morning Miss Freya!" greeted Mia and Yasy while holding a basket. I greeted back, took the goods inside and returned the basket.

"Can we pick some fruits, veggies, and flowers from your garden?" they both asked.

"Of course, you can. Take everything you need. I'll be on the inside if you need anything." I said and went in to prepare my breakfast.

I toasted some bread, cooked eggs and bacon and of course, rice. I can't live without rice.

Before taking a bath, I peeled some mangoes and ate it. I took a shower and dressed up and headed to the field.

"Good morning Frey!" I looked back and saw Avah running towards me. I stopped walking for a while so she could keep up.

"Sorry we didn't join you on your breakfast." She apologized. I know they are busy also so I don't want to be a burden.

"It's okay. I understand. You don't have to worry." I said and we continued walking.

I saw a lot of girls and boys at our age and I think they are trainees as well.

"When did you start training?" I asked Avah because she seemed quite good at everything already.

"When I turned 18 last year. After finishing senior high school, we started training because this is just like going to college."

"Oh, so you mean those missions you kept on telling me is your work?" If that's the case, do they get paid too?

"Well, technically yes, but we don't get paid. Remember your parent's company? That is where we can get our money by working under them and also, so we don't seem suspicious."

We reached the building and started dressing up. The clothes I wore yesterday isn't the same as today but the style is just like Lara Croft's. Maybe they are washing it now?

"How did they do that? I mean, how did my parents build a company?" It's not that easy, so how?

"My mother told me that your father is just a normal person. He is a business man on the outside world and they met with your mother and fell in love." What? I didn't know that! Well, of course. I just got here few days ago.

"Isn't it taboo? Falling in love with normal human being?" because that would mean exposing your true identity and the Aspiera.

"Love knows no boundary, Frey" she said smirking and went to her mentor.

Love knows no boundary? That's absurd.

I went to John's direction and he started saying things that we should accomplish this day. I am with the other newbies and I can feel that sometimes, they are staring at me. I thought I am welcome here?

John distanced me from the other kids and said "In case you go berserk again" I just made face and followed him.

"So, you mastered something incredible yesterday?" I froze for a second. He heard that? Oh no!

I just smiled at him sheepishly. Should I do it?

"Come on, show me" I don't think it's incredible but… okay I have no choice.

I did the same thing I did last night to Adam. I shot John using my hand gun and it reached him but it has no effect.

"You got to be kidding me." He said that with a serious face. Oh no! "Let's get your mind working, George."

He called someone and a guy in his early 30's came in. "Dan, this is George. Please teach her all the things she has to know today." He introduced me to the guy and we shook hands.

"Don't go easy on her." Why do I feel like John wants me to experience hell?

"Okay George, watch me carefully and follow my lead. I will teach you how to protect yourself and attack your enemy in close combat without using your powers." Dan explained and positioned himself so I did the same thing.

He kept on moving with force and sometimes he wants me to attack him but I just end up getting hit. We trained for hours with no break because he said I have to improve my stamina. I only got to rest when I am thirsty and want to drink water but then he starts counting 5 so I have no choice but to run before he reaches 1. Go easy on me, please!

I want to cry right now.

It's already 11 in the morning, that means I am done with the training. I sat on the ground and drank the remaining water I have.

"You good?" I looked at the guy who talked and saw John.

"You want to kill me with the training and now you are asking me if I'm good?" I said sarcastically. He just laughed and sat with me.

"Their training isn't that intense" I murmured because except from me who did almost everything today without rest, all they did was just some kicking and punching and running.

"Unlike them, you are already 19. We have to cover 1 year of training in just 3 months so you could keep up with the other kids your age." He explained to me.

"Keep up with Avah and the rest?" I asked him.

"Yup. In next three months, they will be having a combat training where they have to fight each other using their powers. It's like a real fight but without killing each other." My knees trembled. Fight each other? Fight the experienced? That's horror!

"Now go home because you have to meet with Leyla and learn new things about everything." He stood up and I did the same.

I went home to eat lunch since it's just few meters away. I came back to the field and went to the building where John told me to. I met Leyla and she started teaching me about Aspiera; its history, people and its mission.

Everything went smooth and I had a good time with Leyla since it's a one-on-one lecture. She said she also has to cover a one-year lesson in just 3 months so I'll be ready for the combat training.

Why are they so hyped about this combat training?
