Chapter Ten – The Surgeon

Dione Tang Says?

"Are you sure that they already board the flight to Taiwan?"

"Yes, Mr. Tang."

"Good," I said as I put down my telephone and push the end dial button.

This is the right thing. The two of them needs to go out of here, nor is that the issue of Ghéo'to's death still the top headline in the news. Uncle Xander is really so upset up to this moment, especially that Shin-li is their primary suspect and she and Yugi were reported to be missing.

Now, my role on this is to help Shin-li to get out of this mess. I already hired a private lawyer to review the case.

I stretches my arms.

This is really so tiring. Helping Shin-li and at the same time arranging everything for my upcoming wedding.

"Tired already?" she ask as she massage my shoulders.

"Uh-huh," I nod. "A little bit."

"You are stressing yourself too much."

I smile as Michelle said that in a very childish yet concern tone.

I leans at her to kiss her on the lips as I carry her on my arms.

"I have a great idea to relive my stress," I smile.

She smiles too.

~

"I love you," I said, as we are both embracing each other and cuddles in my bed.

"I love you more," she answered.

I kiss her gently on the forehead.

"In case that something bad happened, I just want you to know that I will always love you."

"Why do I have this feeling that you are already uttering your goodbye?"

I just give her a weak smile as I pinch her nose.

"I love you," I said again.

The next morning, I go straightly at the prosecutor's office too early enough because it is already been cleared that Ghéo'to took suicide. Hearing that, Mr. Yuan Yu Tze poisons himself to death. With these series of downfall from the monarchy, I have no choice but to give my support to Uncle Xander at this very moment, only for me to find him withdrawing from everything. He was rush to the hospital this morning because of drug overdose – all sleeping pills.

I still have to fix everything first before I finally gets home.

Before I went to sleep that night, I still spotted Michelle busy on reviewing her designs.

"You are really sincere on taking fashion design lessons huh?"

She only answered me with a smirk then concentrate on her stuffs again.

After that, I take hours of sleep.

By the time I wake up, I found her note on the fridge.

'I gone to somewhere. It is about some stuffs for our wedding.'

Reading those, I cannot really help it but to smile, so I send her a text message.

To My Love

'Alright. But be careful on selecting things. Just think first before you decide, or else you might end up on those that are not beneficial and will only disappoint you after. Take care. I love you.'

After that, I fix myself for my afternoon duty in the hospital.

Before I head off, I still receive a phone call from my business manager.

"Mr. Guan," I said.

"Dione, are you aware that Michelle withdraws fifty million from your joint savings account?"

"Fifty Million?"

"You have no idea about it then," he confirms.

In spite of my doubts, I still decided to side with her because I trust her.

"Maybe, she will use it on our wedding. She told me that she will arrange some stuffs."

"Okay. Anyway, for just a friendly advice, you better watch your fiancé."

"Alright, thank you. However, I trust her enough," I answered as finally ends the call.

-At the lobby-

"Mr. Tang, are you going to somewhere?" the front desk lady of the condominium ask me.

I just nods at her.

"Yeah, I have a hospital duty this afternoon."

"Ms. Nam used your car sir."

My car?

In spite of confusion, I still manage to smile at her.

"It is fine. I will use hers then. Did she left the key here?"

She shakes her head. "She specifically ordered me that if someone, which I assume to be you, demands for her car, she left it on the car door at the parking.

I just nod. Left the key at the car itself? So careless!

At the parking lot, I spotted her car. I shakes my head and walks in, then starts the engine and head off.

~

As I drives her car, my phone rings. It is a phone call from her. I smiles as I tried to reach my cellphone on the passenger's seat next to me.

"Alright. Alright," I said as I almost get it, but it slips from my hand and falls on the car floor.

I just shakes my head as I tried to get it.

Beep . . . beep . . . beep . . .

When I look up front, a ten wheeler truck is already there and is about to meet me at the intersection.

Hell!

I tried to hit for the brake.

What is the matter? Oh, hell! Come on. Come on. What is wrong with this car?

I look again at the truck and I realize that there is a woman and a child inside. They are a family.

I have no choice.

I turned right only for me to realize that it is already a dead end.
