-Arcadia Online-

NOTICE: Currently in progress of rewriting things. The general plot will stay the same, but the writing will be better. Chapters 1-12 are already done. Arcadia Online; the first major VRMMORPG in the world. It’s a fantasy-like game where you can immerse yourself in it as if you were actually there, and do whatever you want (as long as it’s within the T for Teen rating). You can make friends, money, or even be the protagonist of your own adventure! Anything your heart desires, this game will let you do it! Josh is an ordinary 18-year-old guy that enjoys games; perhaps a bit too much. He plays Arcadia day in, and day out; for him, this is his job, his source of entertainment, everything! This game is practically his livelihood. Maybe one day he'll meet someone that can break him out of his shell and help to better himself as a person. New chapters either every day or every other day.

Sorting the Loot

We finally got through sorting all of the loot; it took almost as long as the actual fight itself! Anyway, we decided that I would keep all of the dragon parts, along with a little bit of gold, and everything else would be Olivia's. Out of everything it dropped, the most notable were probably potions, enchanted armor, dragon parts, gold, and a few rare ores. Now that that's all done, we just have to go back to the capital and submit the quest.

Once the fight was over, Olivia received the "Dragon Slayer" title as well as a ton of XP; she said her level went up about three times. Titles are purely cosmetic and mainly for bragging rights, so they don't provide any type of actual benefit, well, except for one; a while ago the devs tried selling a title with the benefit of a 2% XP boost but received so much backlash and hate that they never did it again, I believe that title was "Master of the Arcane" or something like that.

When the dragon died, a portal also appeared; it should take us to the base of the mountain so we don't have to hike down for another thirty minutes.

"You ready?"

"Yup"

"Alright, then let's go."

We both walked through the portal and were at the bottom of the mountain, in front of the path we took to the top. It would be about another five to ten minutes till we reached the capital. We could just teleport, but I guess Olivia wanted to walk.

"…"

"…"

"So, what was up with you getting mad at the dragon?"

"Hmm? I don't know what you're talking about."

"Remember, you even said a pretty bad one-liner, you were all like… You Can't Tell Me Where I Belong, then killed it."

"Yeah, I know, I said I didn't know because I didn't want to talk about it. I mean, I'm not stupid, it happened like twenty minutes ago."

She didn't sound mad or angry, just a bit snarky. At least It didn't upset her.

"Oh yeah, I meant to ask; what are the requirements to join brother's guild?"

"Mark's Guild?"

"Yeah"

I thought for a moment.

"There aren't really any requirements besides being decent at the game and being a part of the Enjuhar Empire. The guild wasn't made to bring a bunch of pro players together, but rather to talk and hang out with people we like being around, you know, have fun with other people in this great game. Just ask your brother and I'm sure he'll let you in eventually. Oh, how is Mike by the way? I haven't seen him online recently."

"He's been alright. I think he's in a rough spot with his girlfriend right now."

"He has a girlfriend?"

"Yeah. I won't say anything else since I don't know what he does and doesn't want people to know."

"Gotcha. Oh, and before I forget, give back the quick revive item."

"Ahhh... can't I keep it?"

I made a hand gesture and she handed back the one remaining quick revive and we continued to walk.

We reached the gate and entered the city. We walked around for a bit, everything was normal, and we eventually reached the adventurers guild where Olivia could submit her quest. She got enough XP to level up again and was given a decent adventurer rank. Your initial rank is based on what monster you kill for this quest, so a low-level boss will reward you with an F rank, a decent boss will give you D, and a high-level monster will give you C. As an adventurer, there were seven ranks you could achieve through your efforts, and from lowest to highest they were, F, D, C, B, A, S, and S+. S+ is only awarded to the top five hundred people per region, and not to brag, but I just so happen to be one of them, number 483 to be exact. Anyway, C rank will be a great boost for her to help raise her level faster and receive better and more important quests sooner.

Next, she was given a card with her rank and a stamp of the kingdom on it. With this, she was officially a member of the Enjuhar Empire, and with this, karma with Enjuhar was boosted by 10%, and karma with Wesphuy was reduced by 5%. With this she now met the minimum requirements to join a guild; Now all she needed was her brother's permission.

"So, what'll you do now?"

"I don't know. I'll probably get off soon, then, later on, do some more main story missions and bug brother to join his guild."

"Alright, cool. You should probably know that most of the main missions from here on require a certain adventurer level, so if you see a chance to easily raise it you should probably take it."

"Thanks for letting me know. I'll see you later."

"Bye"

"Bye"

[~Olivionic~ – Has Logged Out]

Well, that's that. It was a fun adventure, after all, you can't slay a dragon every day; you usually need some special quest or something. You can't just approach the boss and fight it whenever you want. Now I just have to decide what to do with the dragon parts.

It's getting late, I should probably get off soon too, I still have to make dinner and clean up. Oh, but before I forget I should see if there are more potions in stock at the vendors. I walked to the same market we visited before the fight and asked around if anyone had potions. I got lucky this time and was able to find seventeen potions; while I would like to have more, there's not much I can do unless I want to spend the next few hours visiting a bunch of random vendors in hopes they have more potions in stock. I should stop complaining; it's good enough for now, and that's all that really matters.

Finally, I warped back to my guild before logging off for the day. I had a lot of fun today. I gave a small chuckle and smiled, then clicked "Log Out."
