Dragon Slaying Part 2

The dragon faced Olivia, towering over her.

"Oh shi-"

"You… don't… look… like… you… belong… here…"

"Wh- what?"

"You're… weak… you're... nothing..."

Her expression changed and anger built up inside of her. An old memory revealed itself and faces she could only partially remember popped up in her head. "You're Nothing! You're just a- just a girl! What the hell is wrong with you!? How could you do this!?" The angrier she became the harder she clenched her sword, and soon she was clenching hard enough that her hand was shaking a bit. She let out her rage as she rushed toward the dragon. To the dragon she was moving slowly, in fact, to most mid to high-level players she was moving slowly too.

"AAAAHHHHHH!"

She shouted as she got within range and swung her sword. It hit the dragon's leg but bounced off. She swung again to the same result.

"Huh?"

She swung again, and again, and again, but each time the sword bounced off the dragon's armored skin.

"What... now..."

"SHUT UP!"

The sight was like a mouse trying to fight back against a cat. She continued to swing, but soon after the dragon whipped its tail at her. She used her sword to try and block the attack but that didn't do much besides causing massive damage to both herself and her equipment. By this time, I had gotten up; I had to buy enough time for Olivia to heal. I equipped my gauntlets and rushed in.

"HEY! YOU BIG LIZARD!"

The dragon turned away from Olivia and looked at me.

"You… again…"

It swung its claw at me, just like before, but I was prepared this time and slid underneath the attack. He looked surprised but managed to follow up with a tail whip, which I also dodged by jumping over it. I was now close enough to attack. If a sword can't cut through its skin, then brute force will just have to do. I got underneath the dragon and started punching upward at its stomach.

"guh…"

It made a few grunts before trying to flop down to crush me. I managed to get out of the way just in time. As the dragon was starting to get up, I made my way to Olivia.

"Did you heal up?"

"No"

"Well use a potion or something. I need your help here."

She took two potions out of her inventory and healed up.

I quickly talked to Olivia and told her my plan.

The dragon was up by this point, looking aggravated. It started breathing in; he was about to try another breath attack.

"NOW!"

I ran to the left of the dragon, and Olivia ran to its right. It couldn't hit both of us with its breath at the same time, so it had to choose one of us, and as expected, it looked toward Olivia. Because she has a lot less health and defense, it would be easier to get rid of her before dealing with me.

The dragon stomped the ground, making us stumble, but we didn't fall over or falter with our plan. Its tail swung toward me again, and I dodged it for a second time, then me and Olivia ran toward the dragon once we got close enough.

He started using his ice breath, and it trailed behind Olivia as we both ran to each other. We both ran underneath the dragon's head and switched sides, so I went from its left to right side, and Olivia from right to left. This confused the dragon a bit, and it stopped using its breath attack while it tried to see what just happened.

It saw me and tried to slash me, but I parried it. It swung its tail at Olivia, but she dodged it as well. Once you get used to its attacks, they're really easy to dodge. His attacks are very slow and clunky, but extremely deadly; one hit could take down most average players who didn't have high armor, a decent HP pool, or potions that could resist the dragon's main elemental attack.

The dragon seemed to only use five different types of attacks. Tail whip, claw slash, ice breath, a bash with his head, and finally a flop if we tried to attack directly underneath it. Olivia would use fire attacks since those were the only attacks she had that did a decent amount of damage, and I would try and keep his attention with my barrage of close-range attacks. I would occasionally take a hit here and there, but it wasn't too bad, and if I took too much damage I would just quickly heal up.

"Annoying… worms…"

"JUST… DIE…"

He became a little faster and stood up on two legs, but we didn't relent with our attacks. Fire flew out at the dragon, hits collided with his body, and frost erupted out of his mouth. It was like a scene out of a monster movie.

"THE LEGS! THE LEGS!"

I shouted at Olivia, and she seemed to understand what I wanted her to do. She started firing her magic at the dragon's legs, and before the dragon could go back on all fours, I rushed underneath it and hit one of his legs with full force. Since he was standing on two legs, losing footing with one of them caused him to fall. The ground shook, and while I managed to keep my footing, Olivia fell over before quickly getting back up.

We continued our attacks as the dragon tried to get up, but now we focused on attacking his head while we could. Olivia got a bit too close, and the dragon hit her with his head; she took a lot of damage and was sent into the distance. Once she stopped moving, she vanished into particles before reappearing about five seconds later.

"You know you only have one more of those right?"

"Yeah, I know, I know!"

The dragon had enough time to fully stand up. He looked damaged; there were burn marks, cuts, and bruises covering his body. You could see him breathing in and out heavily; not because he was trying to use an ability, but rather because of how exhausted he was.

"I… tire… of… this… feud…"

The dragon then stood on all four legs before quickly spreading its wings.
