Meeting Remnant

I, Silva Zelretch Branwen, finally reached the Forest Ruins with my group of six. I don't see any signs of chaos, so I am guessing I got here with my group first. As we approached the relics, I told the others.

" You girls pick out the relics first."

" Understood, Master."

" As you wish, my lord!"

Argint and Luna answered, respectively, and Neopolitan hopped off my back to pick a relic. Both groups picked out the Black Knight Pieces, and I thought about who may be the leader of that team. The vampire bat and white wolf girl are out as they are not leadership material, period. Ilia might become the leader, but I bet the tri-colored girl gets picked. I gave a silent prayer to the girls as I could only imagine what sort of leader Neopolitan might be and hoped that I was wrong.

I looked toward Cinder and gestured for her to pick, and she got the Black Queen Piece. She really can't help herself, can she? The fiery woman loves to gloat over and mock others by hiding in plain sight, especially since Ozpin is undoubtedly looking for the culprit for the Fall Maiden's murderer. I then asked my teammate.

" Mind if we wait for a bit? I am a bit worried about some of my friends making it here."

" I don't mind, but they are probably fine. They are, after all, Huntsmen and Huntresses-in-training."

" True, but I still worry."

I said with a shrug, and Ilia also added.

" I also want to wait for a friend of mine. If that's fine with you, Neopolitan?"

Neopolitan shrugged as she did not mind. Luna and Argint also decided to stick around and wait for the others. Minutes ticked away until another group showed up. It was Yang and Blake. The blonde scowled at me as she asked.

" Why are you still here?"

" Just making sure everyone I know makes it here alright."

The chameleon girl greeted her crush cheerfully.

" Blake!"

" Good to see you, Ilia."

The ninja catgirl returned the greeting with a smile, and I asked her.

" How many puns did Yang torment you with?"

" Too many."

Blake answered coldly with exasperation, and Yang defended herself.

" Hey, come on, I'm punny!"

" Sure you are, blondie. Just keep telling yourself that, and maybe you will con someone into believing."

I sarcastically said, and I then heard explosions. I turned to see an Ursa tumble towards us and fall, revealing Nora and Ren. The thunderous girl noticed me and called out to me as she rushed over.

" Hey, big guy! Can you get us unlimited pancakes from the cafeteria?"

I looked at the quiet guy for an explanation, and he shook his head with a wry smile as he had no clue about his childhood friend's thought process despite being together for years. Nora then grabbed the White Rook Piece and started singing.

" ~I'm the queen of the castle. I'm the queen of the castle.~"

" NORA!"

Ren exclaimed in exasperation at his overdose of vitamin Nora, and she walked over with the Relic in hand.

" Coming, Ren."

I greeted my guy friend.

" Hey, Ren, any trouble getting here?"

He looked at Nora as she started to poke the fallen Ursa, and I understood his meaning.

" Right, Nora being Nora."

Another group came by, and it was Emerald and Pyrrha. The mint-haired girl and polite spartan called out, respectively.

" Silva! Neo! Argint! Luna!"

" Silva! Neo! Hello!"

That only leaves... I then heard screaming from above me and saw a familiar red-cloaked girl falling. I leaped into the air and grabbed Ruby, then landed without issue and greeted her.

" Hey, Ruby, but correct me if I am wrong, but did you ride that Nevermore."

I looked up at the giant flying monster before setting the little cookie monster down, and she answered.

" Um, yeah. Weiss and I, she's my teammate, had no idea where the forest ruin was, so I suggested looking from the highest vantage point, which happened to be the Nevermore. Weiss was against the idea of hitching a ride on a Grimm, but I convinced her."

Ruby puffed up her chest in pride at convincing Weiss to go along with her somewhat crazy idea. I asked her a question I had been dying to ask since I first realized I was in the world of Remnant.

" How did you convince her?"

" Pfft, it was easy. I told her if she had a better idea, I would go with whatever she had in mind, but she didn't, so we lured the Nevermore to attack us, then hopped on."

" So Weiss is still up there?"

I looked up and said.

" Nevermind."

I saw the snow princess falling down, and I leaped up to catch her. After we landed, she demanded.

" Unhand me!"

I just dropped her from my arms since the first words from her mouth were not a word of thanks, and she scowled at me. I retorted with a grin.

" Just doing what you asked, Weiss."

" Don't mind her, Silva; she is a prude."

I cracked up at Ruby's remark and how spot-on it was, and Weiss glared at her teammate. The snow princess got up and brushed the dirt off her skirt before marching to the ruins to grab a relic without a word. I sighed and accepted that she really did not like me. The Nevermore circled back and was preparing to dive-bomb me, specifically for some reason. Whatever. I fired off a concentrated blast with Dark Wrath and pierced the Grimm with ease. It crashed into the ground, and after that, I asked everyone.

" Shall we head back, everyone, since we all got our relics?"

Everyone there was looking at me with shock for some reason.

" Silva Branwen, Cinder Fall. You have collected the Black Queen Piece, but no one retrieved the Black King Piece, so with a lack of any more students, you will be part of a reserve team to fill in when another student is unable to participate with their team for whatever reason."

Ozpin announced before forming the other teams, and he called out after Team CRDL was formed.

" Neopolitan, Ilia Amitola, Luna, Argint. You have retrieved the Black Knight Pieces and will now form Team NALA ( Nala), led by Neopolitan."

Silva gave a silent prayer for Team NALA with Neopolitan as their leader. They are undoubtedly going to have some rough times in more ways than one. The old Wizard continued announcing teams.

" Pyrrha Nikos, Emerald Sustrai, Lie Ren, Nora Valkyrie, you have retrieved the White Rook Pieces and will now form Team PERN ( Persimmon), led by Pyrrha Nikos."

The snow leopard man wasn't sure how good of a leader Pyrrha would be, but he was sure that the old wizard picked the polite spartan for a reason over the others. Ozpin then got to the main event.

" Ruby Rose, Weiss Schnee, Blake Belladonna, Yang Xiao Long, you have retrieved the White Knight Pieces and will now form Team RWBY, led by Ruby Rose."

Let's see how the following year plays out.
