166. How To Tame Luffy

Izumi checked the surroundings and started walking toward where Naruto's team. With Kenbunshoku Haki, Izumi can not only feel someone's aura or presence, he can even feel someone's strength. It was thanks to Izumi who always detected his surroundings using Kenbunshoku Haki that he learned to detect strength on his own.

Izumi was surprised to see that Sasuke was fighting Lee. Whereas in the original story, what he was supposed to face were three ninjas from Otogakure village. Only then did Lee come to help.

"Hmmm. Looks like the situation changed. Maybe this is related to my meddling in defeating Orochimaru before." Izumi murmured in a low voice.

Sasuke had fought Lee right before the Chūnin exam started. But their fight was interrupted by Might Guy, a Jōnin-level ninja, who was also Lee's mentor. So the two of them postponed their fight.

But some time ago, Lee, who was with Neji and Tenten, happened to meet Sasuke. With that, Lee was eager to fight Sasuke since he had postponed their fight.

On the other hand, Neji didn't seem interested. He was stronger than Lee. And knowing Sasuke, the so-called genius at his age, just at the same level as Lee, Neji lost interest in him. He felt Sasuke didn't deserve to be his opponent.

Izumi didn't sense the presence of people from Otogakure at all. Instead, he sensed Ino, Choji, and Shikamaru peeking from the bush.

Izumi walked to them without making any sound. He called out of them.

"Oi!"

Choji and Shikamaru stiffened in shock, while Ino jumped in fright.

"Ahhh!"

Ino's scream was too loud, and naturally caught the attention of Sasuke and Neji's team.

Their fight was stopped and they looked in Ino's direction.

When Neji saw people from Kaiyougakure, he immediately took a stance since he knew that they were strong.

Shikamaru and Choji also took their stances. But, Izumi raised up his hands.

"Hey, calm down. I have no intention to fight you since I have a lot of scrolls already." Then, Izumi showed them the scrolls they'd got.

Shikamaru frowned. He tried to clarify.

"But how did you get so many scrolls that fast if you weren't actively attacking the other team?"

"You should have known the reason. I once showed a bit of my ability when the written exam was over, wasn't it?"

After Izumi said that, Shikamaru pondered. Then, he said.

"So, they felt you're a threat and they ganged you up?"

Izumi nodded.

"Smart. People tend to think that they have the upper hand when winning numbers. But, they were mistaken if numbers alone could defeat us."

Then, Izumi noticed a scroll on Shikamaru's hip, it was a Heaven scroll. It seemed he hadn't found the pair. So, Izumi threw an Earth scroll at him.

"Here."

Shikamaru caught the scroll in surprise.

"Why did you give it to me? I can get it by myself." Shikamaru didn't want to accept the scroll. But, Ino snatched it from Shikamaru's hand.

"Thank you, Izumi-kun."

"Hey, Ino!!" Shikamaru glared at her. And Ino responded by glaring at him back.

"What? Isn't it good if we get it without fighting?"

Looking at Ino's expression, Shikamaru gave up.

"How troublesome."

And then, Ino looked at Izumi while saying.

"Izumi-kun, why are you scaring this young lady? You have to take responsibility!"

"Responsibility? Should I?" Izumi responded with an indifferent expression.

Ino had heard from Sakura. Sakura heard Izumi's conversation, who had just broken up with his girlfriend, so Ino tried to approach Izumi. This way, Ino looked for an opportunity to win Izumi's heart.

"Of course, you have to!" Ino looked at Izumi passionately.

Izumi sighed, then asked her.

"Then, what do you want?"

"Date with me!"

"I refuse!"

Izumi immediately refused after Ino asked for a date. Izumi had no intention of looking for a girlfriend after just breaking up. If he started dating right after he broke up, it's like he's taking his new girlfriend as venting out of his feelings.

Izumi himself still couldn't get over his ex, so he didn't want to be in a relationship for a while.

"Why?"

Izumi shook his head.

"Anyway, you can ask other than that."

Ino looked down in disappointment.

Izumi gestured to the others to follow him and walked toward Sasuke's direction.

Looking at Izumi's back, Ino muttered.

"He rejected me."

Shikamaru was beside her, so he heard what she said. He responded.

"You misread his situation."

"What do you mean I didn't read his situation?"

"You said that he just broke up with his girlfriend. Naturally, he didn't want to talk about a relationship. You should have understood it at the very least."

Even though Shikamaru was inexperienced in a relationship, at least he understood which was sensitive and which was not.

Meanwhile, Izumi looked at Neji while curling his lips upward.

"We meet again, pupil-less guy. Do you already have a pair of Earth and Heaven scrolls?"

"Why do you ask? If you want to get the scroll from me, just try it if you can! You think I'm as useless as a certain team?" Neji said while glancing at Sasuke indicating that the useless team was Sasuke's team.

Izumi narrowed his eyes just after he said that. Izumi began to speak sarcastically.

"Oh, how confident you are. I don't intend to take your scrolls, I'm here to give you a scroll if you don't have a pair yet. Look, I have a lot. I just feel pity if you don't get the scroll later because I will be the one to wipe out the participants in this survival test. Do you want this?"

Izumi showed the scrolls including his.

"Are you looking down on me?" Neji gritted his teeth in anger. But, Izumi just shrugged his shoulders as he said.

"You can think that if you feel I'm looking down on you!"

"I'll show you that I have the ability to destroy you."

Neji took a stance. But Izumi just shook his head and turned to Luffy while gesturing to come closer. Izumi was indeed quite interested in the techniques of the Hyuga clan, but he thought that the martial arts provided by the system attracted him more.

Seeing Izumi ignore Neji, Neji decided to attack Izumi. Izumi used his Devil Fruit power to transform his body to be intangible. Neji's attack got through Izumi's body which made him dumbfounded. Then he heard a voice.

"You're so impatient. I just wanted to give you an opponent who might be suitable against you." Even though Izumi said so, he didn't tell the truth. Izumi just wanted to see when Luffy fought Neji, and Izumi himself already knew very well that Luffy was stronger than Neji.

From Izumi's conjecture, blunt physical attacks wouldn't affect Luffy, but he wasn't sure whether Neji's technique still affected Luffy or not. Therefore he wanted to find out by making Luffy a guinea pig.

Neji has the Byakugan, a pair of eyes that can be used to see the inside of the human body like an X-ray. That pair of eyes is not only useful for medicine, but also for fighting by attacking human vital points that ordinary humans cannot see.

Neji didn't know how his attack couldn't land on him. When he used his Byakugan, Izumi's internal body looked so vague. It was as if it was a mist that could be blown away by his breath. This was the first time he encountered a person with such a strange body.

Izumi dragged Luffy to his side, then he said.

"If you take my word for it, I'll create a robot that can shoot a laser beam for you."

Luffy's eyes immediately shone brightly as he turned to Izumi after he heard the words 'robot' and 'laser beam'.

"Hey hey, is it true what you said earlier?"

"As long as you'll listen to me, I'll create one for you, but it will take a little time. What do you think?"

"Wohooo, I'm grateful to have a smart friend like you." Luffy raised both hands cheerfully, and after that, he slapped Izumi's back.

Besides meat, the second thing that interests Luffy is a robot. There was no way Luffy would refuse Izumi's offer.

"Hey, get back to business, or I won't make you a robot!" Hearing Izumi's threat, Luffy stopped to slap Izumi's back and responded.

"Yes sir!"

"Fight against those two. If you can, learn their fighting techniques, then make them yours!" Izumi pointed at Lee and Neji.

Luffy scratched his head. He seemed didn't understand what Izumi meant. So, Izumi said further.

"Anyway, just beat them up!"

"Okay."

Neji gritted his teeth. From what Izumi had said, it seemed he didn't see Neji as a worthy opponent. Lee felt the same way as Neji. Both of them didn't expect Izumi to look down on them so much.
