Chapter 6

It's hard to explain

how hard it is to hide our feelings

from you.

When I see that smile,

I can't help myself

and that makes me happy.

And sometimes, like right now, I'm terrified;

but it doesn't stop me from loving you.

When I wake up and see you sleeping,

all my worries vanish,

just knowing that you're safe makes me feel better.

And when I look at your smiling face,

I can't help falling in love with you more.

Even with the pain I've endured

over the years, I'll carry on loving you for eternity, because I believe you can overcome anything.

When we lie in bed together,

everywhere we go I feel protected

with you by my side.

We sit together at the dinner table

when we're tired, tired of each other

and talking about nothing in particular.

When we kiss, it feels perfect.

You always taste amazing;

your kisses are addictive and intoxicating.

I love watching you play soccer or volleyball,

because you're so graceful and beautiful.

Your movements flow with precision and grace;

like someone else has guided you.

When you laugh, you make me want to cry:

your laughter is contagious and so wonderful.

And if your eyes sparkle, just like the stars above,

that's when I know I belong to you.

And everything I touch

feels warm, soft, and gentle.

Sometimes you touch my hand,

and I swear I can feel my heart beating faster,

and sometimes you hold me too tight,

but every time I think I'll explode

I remember what I thought before you kissed me,

when all I can do is just stare at you.

Because you have captured my soul

and no force

will ever take you away.

Chapter 8

Ava's P.O.V

The past few months had been rather boring without any activity; and even more so with the knowledge that nothing was going to happen between her and Aziraphale anytime soon. It wasn't that she didn't like their current situation or anything; in fact, she loved spending time with him. But whenever she did find an opportunity she would always lose courage and break the eye contact. For some reason she found it difficult to concentrate during those moments, as if she wasn't looking directly at Aziraphale, but somewhere else. Sometimes it was hard to tell whether she looked at him or not; but then again, he probably couldn't notice anyway. Not anymore. She could barely tell whether he was there at all anymore. Everytime she'd tried to talk to him, she'd find herself struggling to get words out. And she felt bad for doing that, because he'd obviously gone through so much, yet here she was complaining about something insignificant. She wished she could just go up to him and hug him and tell him it was okay and that everything would be alright but, well…she couldn't. Because he wouldn't even return the sentiment.

Ava's thoughts were suddenly interrupted by a knock on the front door. She quickly finished changing clothes and ran downstairs, excited at the prospect of having company. She stopped short as she got to the bottom of the staircase when she realized who it was that was standing there. Crowley stared at her in silence, and she nervously returned the gaze, wondering what he thought of her appearance. She wore a simple white t-shirt, grey sweatpants, and a pair of black Converse sneakers, which probably wasn't what the demon was used to seeing her wear. He blinked for several long seconds, seemingly struggling to say something, and she waited patiently as he took his sweet time to answer. Finally, he cleared his throat.
