Busted!

So I can't use magic, now what? The God who gave me a second chance said I would figure something out, but I had no idea what to look for. What's worse is that my parents now know I can't use magic.

It's getting rough because of it; they are clearly confused since the princess before me was a magical prodigy; talk about bad luck. Now their daughter is gone, and she's replaced by me! The useless reincarnation who can't use magic at all.

But you know what? I have a good idea of how to invest my creativity this time. In my first reincarnation, I tried to strengthen my body, which proved absolutely useless, so this time, I will focus on my mind instead.

Think about it: this is the medieval age! And I come from a world where phones and VR were the highest levels of technology. If I have an edge over everyone, it should be in intellect!

The highest cost when it comes to inventing stuff is the unknown; people who want to create something spend most of their time trying to determine if it's even possible, but with my modern knowledge, I can skip all of that and focus on creating things up that I know existed!

For example, in all my time in this world, I have not seen a musket or firearm of any kind so far, which means that even a flintlock weapon would give me a massive advantage over everyone!

My problem, however, comes with my ignorance. I never paid attention in class and, therefore, barely know anything about how our modern inventions even function, which means I'm fried! DEAD STARE.

What else could I do then? Pick up books from my parent's library and begin educating myself? I mean, I could always just read, but I hate reading, man! Honestly, if it's not a light novel, I won't read it, but if I don't, I'll never get anywhere! Fine! You win!

With that settled, my life as a scholar began. I had to read as many machinery books as possible and believe me when I say this. The people from this world were not dumb! They actually had a good understanding of machinery.

However, they didn't use the knowledge in the most efficient way. Let me give you a quick example.

Imagine that you discover a way to quickly pump water from a nearby river into your fields, but instead of that, you pump the water towards another riverbank; sure, you moved water, but you dumbly ignored the drought in your country!

There was a crazy level of obliviousness going on with the intelligent people of this world! They had great thoughts but always used their imagination to solve problems nobody asked for! How disconnected were this world's inventors from its people?!

It was just like how Sofia concentrated all her energy on making me miserable instead of teaching me anything! Oh lord, speaking of the devil, here she came.

"Miss Bel, your mother wants to see you. Please come with me."

Well, if it was Mom who wanted to see me, then who was I to deny the wishes of my big sexy milf of a MAMA. Oh, come on, get over it! I still like women, so what? You got a problem with that reader? Yeah, I'm reading your mind! Now, get over it!

[Please stop breaking the fourth wall.]

Fine, now, what was I on about? Oh yeah, Coco, Mommy wanted to see me. I wonder what she would want. She usually never spoke to me, and neither did my father, honestly.

"Anabel, I heard you have taken a deep interest in learning about machinery?"

"Yeah, I was just reading some books about it a while ago until Sofia brought me to you."

"Sofia, could you leave us alone for a few minutes? I need to talk with my "Daughter" for a few minutes." Why did she say it like that? Was she on to me? No way!

"Of course, I'll leave you alone."

With that, the old nagging hag left the room and shut the door as Mother's stare cooked me from the inside out. I had a bad feeling about her deep stare that penetrated my soul.

"Okay, you're not my daughter, are you? Who are you really?"

Agh! She was onto me! Fudge, fudge, oh FUDGE! How did she know? Had I been way too obvious with my fake amnesia card? No! I played an almost perfect act! I would have won an Oscar with that level of skill!

"I don't know what you mean. I'm your daughter, mama! I'm Anabel!"

"Quit playing dumb! Whoever you are inside that body! I know you're not my daughter because she would have never called me "mother." The real Anabel hated me! Quit testing my patience and answer me!"

"I'm a reincarnation!"

"A reincarnation? So, you really are someone else?"

"Are you going to expose me?"

"No, I actually have a deal for you."

"What is it?"

"You just have to do whatever I tell you whenever I ask. It's simple! If I tell you to marry someone, you will. I need you for my conspiracy and would like you to be part of it; you possessing my daughter is actually better for me; I would have had to kill the old you."

This bitch was crazy! Conspiracy!? Oh, nah, that never finished well in light novels! How do I refuse?!
