Chapter 7

Alyth's P.O.V

Today is the day daddy is going to leave. He's currently packing his stuff. I am so worried for him and everyone. He looks like he doesn't care.

But I can't help it! What if something bad happens? What if… he dies…? No no, don't think like that! Daddy is so strong! He even has magic! And everyone else is there! They're all so strong! They'll all be fine!

"Alyth." I flinch. He noticed me shaking my head while thinking about how he might die. "Remember that I am strong. Nothing will happen." I think I understand now… He doesn't care because he's sure nothing will happen and they'll be fine. He's asking me to trust him… Which I'll gladly do!

"I also… need to tell you something." Oh goodness. Please don't be a bad thing. "I am leaving in a few hours, so I need to talk to you now." Oh say the name of god!! He's scaring me! My attention was grabbed by a blue gem that daddy was holding. A very sparkly, shiny, and pretty blue crystal gem.

"This is the Vandestry." Vandestry? Didn't daddy and Ribius talk about something similar? I tilt my head in confusion. "The ancient treasure of the old Lephetarians. We both… are the last survivors of the Lephetaris clan." What? We're… the last survivors? (sounds familiar *cough* Uchiha Sasuke *cough*) Does that mean I am the descendant? How am I supposed to take this? I mean, I knew daddy had parents and ancestors, but to think that we're very old and we have an ancient treasure? That's DAMN COOL!!!

I know I should take this a bit more seriously, but that's cool! Like, an old clan nobody knows about except us, and a hidden treasure everyone's fighting for, and WE HAVE THAT VERY TREASURE!! *cough cough* anyway, that means DANGER. People might come after us since we are the last survivors of the clan, and if daddy is from that clan, that means he knows a lot of stuff about it.

"I want you to have this. The Vandestry will protect you in my stead." It can protect? "I am giving it to you for good. It's YOUR treasure. Don't let anyone have it." I nod. He put it on my hand and enclosed my hand while holding it with his much bigger one. "Don't let anyone know about this. Only the people you can trust." Only the people I can trust? What does he mean? "I have to go. I trust your choices." I am only a little baby who isn't even a year old? He knows that I am not a simple child, somewhat like Mallo, but not that I was reincarnated. He knows that I am not just a child, but an adult in a child's body. Maybe not that detailed, but we're moving further away from the point. He knows I am no child. Period.

Wait. He has to go?! NOW?! OH MY GOD! I tottered over to him. He was packing his final stuff, before he felt someone hug his leg. "Alyth?" Of course it's me! He smiled gently before kneeling down and hugging me. I buried my face in his chest while crying softly. "It's alright. I'll be back before you know it." He whispered in my ear. I can't help but calm down and stop crying.

And he left. I started crying again as I watched his disappearing form. Ribius gripped my hand. I turned to him and hugged him, still sobbing.

I really will miss him.

I am officially one year old. I found out, not too long ago, that birthday parties aren't a thing here. They don't celebrate it, but they do congratulate. The only real party of age they do is when you're 16 years old. When you're 16, you have become an adult. I have a long way to go~

Also, months don't have names but numbers. First month (Jan), second month (Feb), third month (Mar), and so on.

Currently, I am reading with Ribius. He'll turn 10 in two more months. One more thing, it's fall!! Winter will come soon!! I apparently was born in the winter, but I never left the house until I was 5 months old. By that time, it was spring.

I glanced over at Ribius and pointed at a sentence I couldn't understand. Not even looking at it, he said "The fairy cut her wings in sorrow." H-... W-... HUH?! How'd he know that? He didn't even read it! Did he just… smirk at me?! THAT PIECE OF- "You two. I am taking you to the library. I have some work to do." Oh, it's Mallo. I waved at him. "And, I have to talk to you guys later." Talk to us? About what? I then noticed that Ribius was following Mallo and I was left behind. I quickly returned my book to the shelf and followed them.

We entered the library. No matter how many times I come here, it's always so big! "Go read a book for a moment. I'll be right back." This happens a lot. Mallo is usually very busy and he doesn't have time to take care of me. Ribius would be with his mother so Mallo didn't (he did sometimes) have to take care of him. Now now, let's find a good romance book. Hmm… Where do I find those again? Let's ask Ribius. My pronunciation got a lot better, but I do have little problems with grammar.

"Ribius, where the romance books?" I asked Ribius this a lot, so he was used to me asking for romance novels. It seems like he thinks girls like those things. Well, some do. I definitely do. He pointed at the direction of another shelf and I walked over to it. I was, however, too short to reach the one I liked, so I looked. I looked at Ribius. His expression! LOLOLOL! He's terrified, but he probably expected this!

He walked over to me, wrapped his hands around my tiny body and picked me up. I grabbed the book I liked and kissed Ribius's cheek. "Thanks!" He looks disgusted as heck! I figured out that he doesn't like any sort of affection, so I teased him by kissing his cheeks a lot (now that daddy isn't here to glare at Ribius), knowing that he can't refuse, otherwise his mother would lecture him for HOURS! Trust me when I say that, literally HOURS!!

The embarrassing part about this is that she keeps saying stuff like 'you two will marry in the future' or, 'you're so cute together!' and it's driving Ribius insane. He's glad I am not calling him Bibus anymore, but that doesn't mean we're friends, less likely, MARRIAGE PARTNERS! That's what he'd think. I am fine with it, only if he turns out to be more handsome in the future (he's already handsome enough).

He put me down and went to read his own book somewhere, and I was left to fangirl all I wanted. Nobody usually comes here, aside from me, Ribius, and Mallo. So it's safe to assume that we're the only ones here aside from the librarian, who turns out to be Vindra's sister, who's SO DAMN PRETTY!! I was so angry, because she talks a lot about daddy, which CLEARLY meant that she likes him! She freaking blushes when talking about how the two met (nothing special)!

The problem is… SHE ASKED ME ABOUT HOW I FELT IF SHE WAS MY MOM!!! So I was honest about it and answered, "I'd hate it," with a deadpan, yet I was fighting my brain who was cursing at her. She was surprised, but tried to laugh it off. And I ignored her whenever she was here. I already hate her more than Vindra.

Oooh, this is already an interesting book! The princess and her knight! The title sounds childish, but it's actually really cute and slow! I like it alread- "Kids, I am back." Mallo! "So, what'd you want to talk to us about?" Ahhh!!!! Where'd Ribius come from?! "Right. Come sit here. Both of you." He pointed at the table he was sitting in. Ribius sat in but… I am too tiny to reach for the top of the chair, so I looked at Ribius.

He sighed but picked me up and placed me on the chair. And I kissed his cheek (he looks disgusted). "So. I needed to talk to you both about something, and I'll be straight about it." Ribius and I both listened intently. "I know Alyth is only one years old, but I am certain she can do it." I AM DYING TO KNOW GODDAMMIT!!! "I will train you guys." Huh? I glanced at Ribius, he looked a little confused. "Alyth, your dad gave you the Vandestry, right?" I could see Ribius stare at me. "Vandestry? So you're...." I nodded.

"First, you have to choose a weapon. Both of you." HUH?! "Sword." How quick! Um… WHAT DO I CHOOSE?! "Alyth, how about a scythe?" A scythe? Pretty cool. Sure. "Yeah!"

"Alright then. We'll go buy those. But they'll cost a lot, so you two better do as I say." At least he doesn't have to buy milk and diapers, since milk is very expensive and diaper cloth is also expensive. I started going to the toilet by myself (although I almost fell in the hole several times). It's just a wooden box with a hole on it. I was concerned about how to wipe my butt, but we use water apparently, which is pretty convenient.

"Ribius, will you dress Alyth? I need to go get my pouch." ...HUH?! RIBIUS IS A BOY!!! I shook my head and said, "Alyth dress herself. No need," I put my hands out in defense, but Mallo denied. "No, it's better if Ribius helps you. Last time you wore it backwards." Ugh… This is gonna be embarrassing… Ribius looks annoyed.

All of us left and went to Mallo's house (where I currently live). Ribius got a random dress from the chest that had all of my dresses. He then took off my current dress and helped me wear the blue one (the one he got). The problem is, I was wearing underwear with a bear face on the butt, so that wasn't fun.

"Ready?" Ribius and I nodded. I held Ribius's hand and walked by.

Hmm… The scythes are pretty cool, but… I don't know… It doesn't feel right… Oh. OH MY GOD!!! THAT'S THE COOLEST WAND EVER!!! I WANT IT!!! "Alyth want wand!" Mallo looked at what I was pointing at. "You want a wand?" I nodded. It would be so cool to swing that wand around, like some sort of magician! COOL!!!

Oh right, where's Ribius?
