The Darklands

I was supposed to come here along with my friends. However, I was too scared to let them come along with me. I was afraid they would get hurt. I just couldn't lose them. It is also what the people from the void had told me.

The void is a chamber back at the palace in Amulet world. It is a place where the souls of the kings and queens who are dead are present. They do not leave the world as they can provide the present king/queen wisdom. As I am the king right now I can go there to get their wisdom. Which I did. They told me to leave my friends behind. It was the only way to save them. When they say wisdom it must be good advice, but when they were explaining how the creatures of Darklands can kill my friends, I started to think that might happen to me too. Before I continue my past, you must understand what is the Darklands.

Darklands is where the negative energy and dark creatures of Amulet world are located. Every world needs to have chi, a balance of negative and positive energy. On earth, each and every one of us has a balance of both positive and negative energy. Amulet world is positive on the surface but the negativity is located in one of Amulet world's portals.

Only one person ever managed to survive the Darklands and return, it is Ortious. He was one of the greatest kings ever. He is the slayer of Barine the Brutal. He is my role model when it comes to hand-to-hand combat.

People in Amulet world might have already started my funeral, they would be shocked if they see me again. Not everyone actually, my friends know that I am alive, they just don't know how to get here. My friends and I have been chatting for a long time. I would call them if I was bored. The only thing I am worried about is the money. The problem is talking from the Darklands would press charges over a hundred dollars every hour.

I miss everyone and everything. I really wish I could go back there again.
